This is the only sport Nigeria wins consistently, unfortunately it doesn't have huge fans. For over ten years running Nigeria dominated Africa in Table Tennis.

You are right that's human adaptive abilities are remarkable. However, i still think putting children in pepper is a bit excessive. What logic could you possibly use to defend this rite?
Same wisdom used in child immunizations. But because this is pepper seller and black, we cant respect it. If oyibo man come now with syringe and pepper agent to immunize the baby you will praise it.

If the mother sells pepper and she has the baby with her all the time occassions will arise when she needs to handle the baby. Without such rituals, believed to give immunity, touching the baby's skin with peppery hands in moments of emergency can burn the skin and cause permanent scar to such tender and soft skin, in addition to possible allergic reaction.

So this is wise to immune the baby like that.

I dont like to see women in hardship at all. It gives me grief to hear or see women and their babies suffer hardship. I dont care what tribe.

It says a lot also about men. Men have failed these women. They are not supposed to be in this predicament at all if Men would respond and do what they need to do to hold society together.

This is sad.

Hhmmmm...listen to this

From all the constitutional conferences, till later days, we(Ndigbo) had been in alliance with the north. And the northerners have been comfortable with us.
....but on Jan 15th 1966, Ibo stabbed Northerners in the back and betrayed that close-knit friendship.

Balewa - assassinated by Ibo
Maimalari - assassinated by Ibo
Bello - assassinated by Ibo

The Ibo allies forcefully removed their Northern allies from power and at gun point sacked a Northern succession headed by Dipcharima. They installed an Iboman and called him Supreme.

When engaged in debate with Edos on origin of their civilization I ask them a simple question; detail the tradition of textile and genesis of fabric styles in Edoland. I ask them this question because it is one aspect of civilization which the European writers never recorded for them. So I want them to tell history of clothing and styling in their native land. Everytime I ask this they abandon the thread.

Cloth weaving, dyeing and its styling remains a vital exchange and part and parcel of civilizations in Africa today as it was and had ever been in our antiquity and ancestral past. Imperial Courts had guilds specialized in cloth weaving, in embroidery, in dyeing and they exported textiles as a means of exchange in commerce, communication and building alliance. Why do we not see Bini footprint represented in this very important and significant cultural value? It's because the natives were uncivilized and roamed the forest in nud.ity. Thank God to Ife who civilized their land and natives and gave them textiles introduced through the dynasties of Ogiso and Oba.

According to Colleen E. Kriger, author of Cloth in West African history, "Clothe is a paradox raw material for the reconstruction of history. When used as clothing, its most common manifestation, cloth is highly visible, often revealing cultural values and social strata as well as aesthetic preferences. It is also highly mobile, leaving a record of travel, trade and gift contacts. These factors make it a rich source of historical information".

Honestly, I am not very clear about what you mean, but I assume that you have some specific contentions with respect to my evidence-backed submission.

But if you really want to have an intellectual exchange, then begin by engaging the incontrovertible evidence I have adduced.

Cheers! kiss
I love the way you highlight and outline points for delivery.

It is not possible for Benin to independ e ntly construct their history from beginning till now and not reference a single article or journal written by Europeans. What they know, and proclaim, of themself is what European explorers (many who have never even stepped feet in Bini) wrote about Bini and is all flowery and solicitous.

Olfert Dapper's journals about Bini became source reference for many writers for many centuries afterward, and even uptil today his journal entries and publications are still used when writing about Bini....but the man does not even know where Bini is located. He never visited it or met any native from there. He collected stories from sailors who heard it through other sailors who heard of Bini while at sea. grin

This type of nonsense below and many such illustrations is what Edos piece together and proclaim as their history. Independently they cannot articulate their origin, or that of Ogiso Chiefs dispatched to them from Ife or even their foreign Oba.

Politics › Re: All Is Not Fair In War: A Response To Awo Apologists by MetaPhysical: 2:55pm On Aug 11, 2019
NuclearWinter:
The reoccurring excuse the Yorubas have been using to defend the genocide on the Igbo nation during the harrowing years of 1966 to 1970 is anchored on the rhetoric adopted by Awolowo to defend his "Hunger Policy" which led to over 3 million dead non-combatants on the Biafran side. Awo will state that;" in war all is fair".

Awolowo will further state that "in war you don't feed your enemies". For clarification, Biafra did not declare war on Nigeria and Nigerians rather it was the reverse. It was the Federal Govt of Nigeria that saw Biafran secession from the British colonial contraption as an act of war. The coup of Jan 15, which has been erroneously tagged as an Igbo Coup was more than enough reason for Nijeriyans to wage their pent up anger and jealousy on Biafrans living within their midst thus the pogroms that raged across northern Nigerian.

Not satisfied with the blood lust, the Nigerian govt will declare war on the newly declared state of Biafra (fleeing the pogroms) to continue the genocidal agenda under the fog of war.

It is important to note that the human cost of the brutal 3 yr un-civil war to reunite Biafra with Nigeria came with a hefty human cost which is yet to be surpassed since even for African conflict standards. The wars in Liberia, Sierra Leone and the genocide in both Rwanda and Burundi plus the conflicts in the Congo combined have yet to meet up with the body bag count of the Nigerian civil war - a whooping 3 million dead!

Coming back to Awolowo's war rhetoric we see it being panned out today by the same Yorubas who use it as justification as both an avenging response to the coup of Jan 15 and as a quick step towards ending the war. In retrospect, Awo's hunger policy equates to Truman dropping the H-Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

All is not fair in war

The Geneva convention - a guideline on how regular conventional warfare should be conducted had already been in existence since after the great second World War. Obasanjo recently in Abuja, attested to the fact that as a commanding officer of Federal forces he carried in his breast pocket a copy of the Geneva convention. The origins of the Geneva convention were necessitated after the harrowing sufferings and killings that civilians were subjected to at the hands of the Axis forces of Germany and Japan as they swept across Europe and Asia (respectively).

The Nuremberg Trials and that held to convict Japanese war criminals was a response by the allied forces to make a declaration that "All is not fair in war".

It was Winston Churchill that first gave us the word Genocide. A word that masked the unspeakable crime committed by the Nazis.

It was from the barbarity and conviction of the Nazi war criminals that the Geneva convention was born and adopted by the then league of Nations which Nigeria was signatory to as at the time of the civil war.

For Awolowo and his descendants and apologists to still hold on to his war time ideology that "all is fair in war" then it is either they are mistakenly ignorant of the Geneva convention and the Nuremberg Trials or that they are sinisterly evil.

Today, we see the same yorubas threatening another round of genocide on the Biafran people over a Biafran secession.

Why wouldn't they? After all war criminals like Awolowo, Obasanjo, Murtala and Buhari are celebrated today in Nigeria as heroes.

Talk about relative morality and the Yoruba hypocrisy.

What I do know is that Karma is never ever too late to have her pound of flesh.
Lets go back to the basics. After Biafra was declared, what business did you have in Ore, a non biafran territory...why were you there?

It is common in Yoruba to use double link in attributes but never in proper names.

Example -
Fio-Fio....long beyond vision
Lai-Lai....into eternal
Jagun-Jagun....mercenary
Kiji-Kiji.....stampede

If a Yoruba is named Olusegun and his father or grandfather was also named Olusegun, out of respect we will skip the that generation before him that first bore the name or use the family totem in place of last name.

Say Im Olusegun and my grandfather is also Olusegun but our ancestral totem is ESO. Rather than carry Olusegun Olusegun for name I will be called Olusegun Eso.

We are unique in language and adopt sequencing and substitution in naming.

That is precisely one of the contention Grandson has with leaders in Yoruba society. That is......nationalist of other tribes are able to get cover under their elites implicitly speaking out in tandem with their message, or just keeping quiet but not contradicting the message.

In Yoruba a nationalist like Grandson is quickly disowned by Yorubas that treat his message as an aberration. At end of day he is left standing alone and in regrets.

As much noise Yoruba leaders have made and as many warnings sent to Abuja, #revolutionnow is a catalyst to get the motion going. ....and people wonder why Deji Adeyanju wrote and said his engagements occupied the week. Lessons learnt! grin

The initial rumours were that Demola (an OPC leader) was burnt when he tried to snatch ballot boxes. It turns out that he was beaten, but he was not burnt. Residents (including both Yorubas and Igbos) rescued him and took him to the hospital. What was actually burnt was the motorcycle with which he and his gang came to the polling unit. There's actually a picture of the motorcycle on fire.
I knew of that when it happened.

I follow Grandson, and his Youtube recording was precisely the event you described. He actually called for the excesses of Ibo in Yorubaland to be curtailed. Grandson admits there are legitimate and honorable Ibos living in Yorubaland but they are a very small subset. The prevalent atrocities and particularly the acts of boldness and absence of fear or propiety in their conduct and relationship on Yorubaland is what irks Grandson, coupled with the Nigerian question.

Ibos are spreading fake news if they are now claiming that Grandson called for revenge on death of a Yorubaman.

Thanks for clearing this up naptu. God bless you my brother. grin
