South west will give their lands to ruga and Fulani will be their neighbours. If them try come by Edo state ehnn, gods know what we will do.

My brother, what are you sniffing? grin

Buhari is not beyond insult if he earns it. That man is same age as my grandfather, why would i insult someone that elderly juat ordinarily? Beside, as President of my country, even if he was only 35yrs old i still must respect his office, not to talk of Baba Buhari.

Remember, im Yoruba, not Ibo. I dont kick my elders in the rib, i bow in respect to honor them. If wronged i am allowed grievance and complaint....but insult, no!

It would be nice that you quote the insult on Buhari that you attribute to me. grin

Chinwe,
Even if SW is burning we must still vote. You cannot leave the Sovereingty without a head. Which part of common civic education is it that you adults in Nigeria cannot understand but primary schools students in other countries are trained in?

A country must have a head. MUST!
Between Buhari and Atiku we choosed Buhari. Atiku and Buhari are both fulani. Atiku owns cattle....or do you not already know this? He owns several thousands of heads of cattle and they are grazed by herders. Same herders that carry ak47 around.

Atiku opens his mouth on every national subject and make comments. Has he commented about this ruga thing...or the miyetti allah vigilante in SE? Why has he been silent? Because miyetti allah is greater than Buhari and Atiku, greater than APC and PDP. So for God's sake get some sense and speak like someone educated in civics. Even if you dont know what it is....just pretend you do and stop embarassing your tribes people here.

Ruga programme is a benefit to all fulanis, Buhari and Atiku both. If Buhari did not do it Atiku would.

The best you can do now is put pressure on your state governors and traditional rulers to stand down against ruga. APC cannot save anyone from it and PDP cannot save anybody wither. Its not about party or who voted for who on this ruga issue. Do you hear me? Just coast along and pretend you understand politics and say very little, save yourself humiliation. Please....

Any plan to contain the herdsmen must be a comprehensive one including how to relocate the ipobs back to their villages.
If for instance Yoruba were to get a Self Sovereingty the proper thing is to develop a migration policy and since the constitution which currently gives them rights of access will no longer exist, they will fall into a true context as either a migrant worker or refugee. Either way Yoruba will need menial workers to sweep streets, wash toilets, do porter duties at our ports. Migrant Ibo will fill those positions. If Yorubas are found in those low level jobs they must be in supervisory or management role above the Ibos.

We will not discriminate against t hem but we must apply policy to accomodate them.
Politics › Re: Hegemony: What Igbo Can Learn From Yoruba - Reno Omokri by MetaPhysical(op): 9:47pm On Jun 30, 2019
This humility is ingrained into Yoruba and Northern youths from infancy. In the North, youths squat to greet their fathers and their male elders. In the Southwest, children are taught to prostrate for their elders as a form of greeting. Banky W, is an international star but when he met Dele Momodu, he prostrated before him. Long before him, Sir Shina Peters did that to King Sunny Ade. I doubt that an Igbo man can even muster enough humility to prostrate before his own father how much more an elder! He would consider that as foolishness.

And there is nothing unGodly about this. It is not idolatrous. Many Igbos like to claim Jewish ancestry. Maybe they are right maybe they are not. But Abraham is the father of the Jewish nation. In Genesis 18:2 the Bible records that “Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.”

Look at that “bowed low to the ground”. Abraham prostrated!

That act of humility does not take anything from you. But it gives everything to you. You see, a man’s greatest pleasure and need is not money or sex. It is to feel important. It is to be respected.

Both religion and science support this position. In Genesis 1:28 God gave man a charge and said “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion”.

It is God Himself that put the desire in man to want to dominate, to want to be respected.

According to Sigmund Freud, man is dominated by two urges, the sex urge and the urge to be important. This goes back to Genesis 1:28 ‘be fruitful’ and ‘have dominion’.

Women by and large influence men through the first urge which Freud named ‘Eros’. Men influence other men through another part of the male personality that Freud called ego.

Because every man has an ego (the only difference is in size) it is very difficult, if not impossible to influence another man without massaging his ego. Refusal to do so can only end in two ways:

Conflict: which arises when two egos collide and one refuses to bow to the other, or Frustration: which arises when one person refuses to work on the ego of a man who has power over him.
And let me say that no one can have power over you except he was given that power by God which is why Romans 13:1 says “there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

For example Since 2010, my white beard has been my trademark. In fact Punch newspapers refers to me as ‘the white bearded Omokri’. Yesterday (May 30th), my grandfather called me and asked me to shave it off because he does not like it. That same day, I obeyed him. I obey my grandfather at 43 the same way I obeyed him at 3.

I am very successful today and I trace my success to the upbringing and prayers I got from my father and grandfather. No money ritual is as effective as a prayer and blessing from your fathers. I may be wrong, but I am not sure that a father or grandfather can have this type of influence on an adult financially and socially successful male in Igbo land. What I did may even be construed as weakness.

In my opinion, Ndi’Igbo are also individually more intelligent than their neighbors (I call it as I see it) but they hardly use their intelligence to unite and have one leader, one goal and one destiny. Because of this, even though they are more intelligent, they are almost always doomed to serve those that are wiser than them because wisdom is superior to intelligence.

The Igbo also appear to value leaders because of the leader’s personal attainments in life and so money gives you more leadership credentials than wisdom or age. They forget that a rich man may have more clothes than an elder but cannot have more rags than him. They overestimate the power of money and underestimate the power of wisdom.

If the Igbo can learn humility and practice diplomacy and discipline themselves to have one leader that they listen to in good and bad times not because he is always right but because he is their leader, their marginalization will end and their dominance will begin.

These are merely my opinions which may be wrong.

Now that I have touched on Ndi’Igbo, perhaps I may also touch on the South in general.

There are four things that the South has to understand about the North.

One, there is no such thing as Hausa Fulani. It is a myth. There is Hausa and there is Fulani.

The second thing is that the Fulani are not our enemies. They are our rivals for power. Once we make this paradigm shift, our attitudes to seeking political power will change.

The third thing is that the Northern elite are experts at brinkmanship.

A perfect example is the recent ranting by the chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, the cantankerous Ango Abdullahi, who says that the North is prepared to split from Nigeria.

When at Chief EK Clark’s 90th birthday in Abuja, Ango Abdullahi said “I come from Kaduna State, the population according to the 2006 census puts us at 6.3 million. And if you look at the resources that come from the so called federation account to Kaduna, it is one quarter of what Delta gets”, what Nigerians should understand is that he was only playing the game of brinksmanship.

Kaduna contributes only 0.1% of the funds that enter the Federation Account and gets 1.4% of the monies that leave the Federation Account.

Who should complain between Kaduna and Delta?

The fourth and final thing is that too many Southerners are filled with hostility for the Hausa people. Unbeknownst to but a few of us down South, there are very few actual Hausa people in the North.

Hausa is more of a language than a people. Most of those we in the South label ‘Hausa’ in the North are a motley crew of various minority ethnic groups who are bound together by a common lingua franca-Hausa.

For decades before Independence these minority groups had been dominated by the Fulani and when Independence came they thought that the more exposed Southerners would come and hand them a hand of fellowship and deliver them from their oppressors but to their shock we greeted them with hostility and sometimes open hatred and a wise sage like Sardauna Ahmadu Bello opened up his hands to them through his policy of One North and empowered Northern minorities like Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Sunday Awoniyi and co.

Who knows, he may have done the same with the South and created a truly ‘One Nigeria’, if his life had not been tragically cut short in the coup mistakenly called Nzeogwu coup but which was actually masterminded by Emmanuel Ifeajuna with Nzeogwu being slightly more than a pawn in the game.

Ahmadu Bello was not a tribalistic leader. But he was a regional leader. He was suspicious of Southerners in general and he had something akin to disdain and maybe even contempt for Ndi’Igbo. It is an inconvenient truth that cannot be denied. Even his hardcore followers cannot deny this. He is caught on video articulating this view and these videos are now on YouTube.

Some of Sir Ahmadu Bello’s successors have built upon the foundations he laid and have matured to be great patriots.

For instance, despite what the media has written about him to exaggerate his faults, the fact remains that former President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida is one of the most patriotic Nigerians alive. Only President Olusegun Obasanjo can be said to be more patriotic than General Babangida in contemporary Nigerian history.

How do I mean? Consider this; In 1998 after Abacha died and Babangida’s protege, General Abdulsalami Abubakar became head of state, President Babangida engineered the shift of political power from the North to the Southwest and specifically to President Olusegun Obasanjo.

For those who think that he had to do this let me ask you a question: What would have happened if the 1999 Presidential election had been thrown open to all and sundry, and not just restricted to the Southwest, and a Northerner like Atiku Abubakar or some other credible Northerner had won?

Would the Southwest have seceded? Would there have been war in 1999? Would Nigeria have gone the way of Rwanda? No, no, no!

There would have been a great discontent in the Southwest, but as long as the results were free and fair, there would have been little the Southwest could have done to change the situation.

Now let me ask a hypothetical question: Placed in that same situation, with Igbo dominance in the military and in government, would an Igbo leader have ceded power to the Yorubas to compensate them for an event like June 12 knowing that even if he did not there was little they could do by way of taking the power from him?

Even an Igbo man would agree with me that this is very unlikely.

I do not need to ask the question of whether or not a Yoruba man would do this because General Olusegun Obasanjo had already done it in 1979.

It is this statesmanly humility, (having the power to do something that would favour yours and your people’s cause, yet having the conscience and discipline not to do it because it is against the principles of natural justice), that Ndi’Igbo lack in sufficient quantity at their leadership levels.

The above reason is why power continues to elude them. It is more than physical. It is spiritual. As James 4:10 says “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
Politics › Hegemony: What Igbo Can Learn From Yoruba - Reno Omokri by MetaPhysical(op): 9:43pm On Jun 30, 2019
This week marked the 50th anniversary of the declaration of the Sovereign State of Biafra and one or more questions still linger. I will not delve into the more contentious questions, but for the sake of improving the relationship between the Igbo and their Yoruba neighbors, let me touch on one or two areas where, if the truth is brought to the fore, the relationship between omo Oduduwa and Ndi’Igbo could be improved.

Firstly, why do Ndi’Igbo still believe the false stereotype that the omo Oduduwa (Yoruba) are cowards? This is simply not true and the facts do not support this belief.

In the history of Nigeria, only two men have returned to Nigeria to face almost certain death even when they had the option of a very comfortable political asylum abroad. Both of them are Yoruba. In 1985, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida toppled the Buhari regime while Major General Tunde Idiagbon (mixed Yoruba/Fulani) was at Mecca yet Idiagbon returned.

In 1995, Olusegun Obasanjo (pure Owu Yoruba) was accused of planning a coup by the blood thirsty tyrant, Abacha (if you do not like that truthful description of Abacha or if you believe that ‘Abacha did not loot’, you can go and join him where he is) while he was away in Copenhagen. He returned to face almost certain death.

What more example of bravery can there be than these two shining ones.

Furthermore, there is the apocryphal example of Colonel Francis Adekunle Fajuyi who chose to die with the Head of State, rather than abandon his guest, which he was at liberty to do. I am hard pressed to believe that if it was vice versa, Ironsi would have done the same for Fajuyi, but then again, I may be wrong.

I admired Colonel Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu for his guts and stubborn determination during the events leading up to and during the civil war, but I was disappointed that he fled Biafra when the end came. I wish he remained.

I also admired the Right Honorable Nnamdi Azikiwe, but Chief Obafemi Awolowo would NEVER have abandoned his people as Azikiwe did when he defected to the federal side during the civil war.

Awolowo was in prison because of his people and he could have been released had he compromised his beliefs but he stoutly refused. That is courage not cowardice.

I have been in direct communication with General Yakubu Gowon whom I admire but he did not return to Nigeria after he was accused of being behind the Dimka coup.

All things considered, Fajuyi, Obasanjo and Idiagbon are probably the bravest Nigerians ever. They are (were in the cases of Fajuyi and Idiagbon) certainly braver than Murtala Ramat Mohammed, who was safely in London waiting for Joe Garba and co to topple Gowon.

Even with the sullying of his name as a Quisling in the pages of history, it is on record that of all the first republic politicians that were killed in the January 1966 coup, only Samuel Ladoke Akintola, the Premier of the Western Region, put up a fight. He had a rifle and exchanged gunfire with Captain Emmanuel Nwobosi and his men. Akintola, a civilian, injured the trained soldiers and was only killed when his ammunition finished. And even at that he did not cry or beg!

Ndi’Igbo may do well to remember how Wole Soyinka, at great risk to himself, traveled to Enugu during the height of the civil war crisis to persuade Ojukwu against secession. Soyinka had nothing to gain. He did what he did as a humanitarian in support of the Igbos, an act for which he was arrested by the Gowon led Federal Military Government and thrown in jail for 26 months, 22 of which he spent in solitary confinement.

These facts of history prove that the stereotype of Yorubas as cowards is false. Every ethnicity has cowards and brave men. As we celebrate #BiafraAt50, I hope the Yoruba and Igbo can find common ground and unite as Southern Nigeria’s two main ethnic nationalities otherwise the South will continue to be politically disadvantaged even when it is the most educationally advantaged part of Nigeria.

It is true that the Igbo are marginalized in Nigeria, however, I am of the opinion that a lot of the blame for this can be laid at Ndi’Igbo’s doorstep.

In my opinion, and remember this is an opinion not a fact, the major undoing of Ndi’Igbo is their misunderstanding of the term strength.

Ndi’Igbo erroneously believe all strength is physical. They do not seem to realize that strength is your ability to assert your will on earth and that that ability may not always be physical. The proverb-discretion is the better part of valor-is not understood by the Igbo. They tend to be reactionary and consider pausing to study a situation before you respond (not react) as cowardice. One or two of them may get it, but as a race in general they do not.

They do not consider diplomacy as a first step. To them it is weakness and makes you an efulefu! If they have an enemy, they are not able to suppress their emotions and work with those they do not like. They must make their hostility obvious to the person they do not like and being aware of the dislike, the person is armed against them. In an organization, others may be sublime and discrete in their scheming, but the Igbo are more likely to be obvious and in your face about theirs and end up causing unity amongst their enemies in plotting their downfall.

As a general rule, Ndi’Igbo have very little humility and are very proud individually though there are few exceptions and I must single out my friend Emeka Maduewesi as one of those exceptions. An epitome of a gentleman! Another example would be Uche Chuta. May God throw up leaders like Uche in Igboland!&

In the main, the president and his kitchen cabinet should note that agonising the agonising Yoruba people and their leaders should not be taken for granted at this time just because the Vice President and the Speaker hail from the region. Here, therefore is the thing, what is needed to start trouble for this government is for the Yoruba to renew a democratic alliance with the South East, South South and Middle Belt – against the Fulani nation.

As I noted before, although as the Yoruba nation would not allow Abuja to humiliate Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu being suspected as pawns and weapons of mass distortion of facts at the moment, the angry leaders would not allow their (Osinbajo and Tinubu’s) closeness to state actors and Nigeria’s leadership to prevent them from being wild again – in defence of their freedom and farm lands.

Therefore, as President Buhari seeks to search for new ways of improving living standards and sharing the benefits of growth more evenly across all groups in society, his public sector policy should not be perceived to be for his (Fulani) people alone. So, if Nigeria’s leader allows the Yoruba people to unite with the old Eastern Region and the Middle Belters against his government at this delicate time, in this fragile federation, the consequences may not be healthy for the country.
Politics › Re: Behold, The Yoruba Are Agonizing And Organizing by MetaPhysical(op): 8:45pm On Jun 30, 2019
State actors should note this intelligence that sycophants would like to dismiss at this time. This is part of the reasons I stated earlier that the leader of this country at this time should like the Issacharites, understand the times and know what Nigerians of various extractions can and ought to do.

As our pilot, our leader needs to know, alert and assure all of us that indeed ‘we have entered some areas of turbulence but there is nothing to worry about’. This is the right time for our Captain to assure us through the shape of his new government that he indeed belongs to nobody and belongs to all of us. This certainly is the time to address the details, implications, extent and timelines of the curious RUGA Project that the federal government has begun in Taraba, Adamawa and nine other states. The Vice President, who hails from the South West who is being implicated in the controversial project, has denied that he is in charge of the project. It means there is a project to grab plots of land for the Fulani nation all over the country. The federal state actors who are in charge of this project should rise up and organise some public relations package for this hot potato before it is too late. Let me repeat repeat this: the Yoruba people are organising.

As I noted early this month, in shaping his new government, the president needs to have victory over self. He should note that he needs to thank God that Nigeria is still one and united country in his stand despite the objective reality that his appointments in the last four years have threatened national security, after all. Those who don’t want to tell the truth will be talking of the elephant in the room: religion as a sensitive fault line political analysts and journalists should avoid. But no one can bury truth in a grave.

Events in recent weeks, especially the RUGA Project that the former Minister of Agriculture and Rural development, Chief Audu Ogbe has been talking about as the only solution to herder-farmer conflict, have shown that Obasanjo’s claim about Fulanisation and Islamisation agenda cannot not be dismissed, after all. And the organised Yoruba leaders are already organising over this fearful land-grab project that is already claiming lives and property in the region where democracy died suddenly in 1966. Trouble began for democracy in that First Republic when the then federal government led by the north, declared a state of emergency in what was labelled ‘the wild, wild west’. I hope history will be a useful guide here.

Nigeria’s leader should be told point blank that he would not be doing his government and indeed the country any good if this RUGA Project takes over critical infrastructure (development) projects that people all over the country expect from their governments at this time.

Specifically, what Africa and indeed the world expect from Nigeria’s leaders at time is a comprehensive blueprint on how to deal with poor road networks all over the country, poor funding of education, reproachful energy sector and rampaging corruption in Nigeria. These are issues that should be on the front pages and prime time of the digital media, not Fulani herdsmen and their colonies.

The conclusion of the whole matter is that President Buhari should not feel comfortable with the fact he has been condoned in his parochial and lopsided appointments since 2015 and so nothing will happen if he pursues a RUGA Project for his kinsmen.

As he prepares for his second term, he should make inclusiveness, the centrepiece of his governance policy. He should celebrate an inclusive democracy now to put a lie to what the Obasanjos have alleged about Fulanisation, Islamisation and Northernisation as state policy.

The First Lady is waiting (for ‘inauguration’ as First lady of the FRN even as she is planning her MB University). The immediate past ministers are praying (for presidential amnesia) and waiting (for re-absorption) in July. Senator Ahmed Lawan, President of the Senate is pondering (over what happened to his nominee Festus Adedayo within the context of legislative independence). Behold, Right Honourable Gbajabiamila is still celebrating in Western Nigeria (that he is Number Four Citizen, after all without considering the consequences of his office). Former CJN, Walter Onnoghen is still agonising (about why the NJC treated him thus when they came for him).

Governor Yahaya Bello is still manipulating (for a second term in Kogi state without paying 16 months salary arrears). Rotimi Akeredolu is planning (how to create about 100 local council development areas, (LCDAs) despite the NFIU’s riot act on direct allocation to the constitutional 774 Local Government Councils in the country). Governor Abdullahi Ganduje is laughing heartily in Kano (after legalising his new four Emirate Councils through the state legislature). And the Emir of Kano is still talking (economic (mis)management in Abuja, despite the trouble his restless tongue has landed him). Lest we forget, the artful Yahoo boys, bandits and kidnappers and are smiling (to the banks everywhere because their artistry is now ‘permissible’). Traditional journalists are lamenting ( that citizen journalism has taken the steam out of organic journalism). Even public relations practitioners are complaining (that spin doctors have dusted up the lost journals of propaganda Paul Joseph Goebbels’ prepared for the World Wars. What is more, orthodox doctors and pharmacists are wondering (why herbalists and oracle diviners have been receiving more attention). Who is not complaining these days?
But beware, the Yoruba are agonising…

But of all the curious and widespread complaints, as I noted here early this month (Sunday June 2 on the expediency of inclusive government), this is a time to tell Nigeria’s leader that the Yoruba people are quite angry at the moment. And they are organising as they are agonising beyond what the physical eyes can detect – about the state of the nation. I would like to advise state actors not to ignore them. It will be risky to gamble with their grouse.

The Igbo people have been complaining. They are also planning beyond commerce in a nation where they feel they are not yet free. – from the prejudices of the civil war (1967-1970). The Middle Belters and the north-central Nigerians who have been nursing their ancient grudges against all governments in power have stepped up their grouse against principalities and powers that they often allege have been marginalising them. Now they have the RUGA settlement as a bugbear. Are the organised militants in the Niger Delta area happy with the state of the nation? Have the NDDC, Niger Delta ministry and federal government’s amnesty programme addressed the agitations of the oil-rich Niger Delta region? I think their curious silence at the moment should not be taken for acquiescence and capitulation.

Now to the brass tacks: While I cannot speak for the people, I know enough to know that the Yoruba nation is quite angry at the moment about so many things including president Buhari’s carefree but curious attitude to the ‘national question’ we simplify as federalism and contextually report as restructuring (of the federation). The president’s recent pronouncements on true federalism and state police are incredible to the core Westerners.

Specifically, the Yoruba people are quite disturbed about the strange arrival and settlements of Fulani herdsmen and bandits who have started kidnapping their people and destroying their farmlands. State actors in Abuja should note that they will unfold their strategic agenda sooner than later. I know they are organising in their agony on many fronts. This is 21st century driven by digital evidence anywhere you meet, let me state clearly that I understand the Yoruba nation to claim they have many issues with President Buhari that are not in the media.
Politics › Behold, The Yoruba Are Agonizing And Organizing by MetaPhysical(op): 8:43pm On Jun 30, 2019
Let’s begin this week with some contextual reporting of the state of the nation before the construct of underreported ‘landmine’ in Yoruba land.
The nation is waiting (for Mr. President to name his cabinet). The president is still procrastinating (about the colour of his new government). The Vice President is travelling and reporting (to the world the state of herders’ trouble) and he is denying (his involvement in RUGA settlement). The Igbo are gloating (about marginalisation). The Middle Belters are wondering (where they are even in the context of restructuring). The Niger Deltans are curiously quiet (even about current land grab stories, in the circumstances). The poor are dreaming (about the paradise, sorry Eldorado promised). Miyetti Allah chieftains are smiling (about their ancestors’ promised favour being fulfilled in their life time).

The presidency is quiet (about accusation and manifestation of Fulanisation and Islamisation). The governing party, APC is confused (about alleged Fulanisation, Kanurisation and Islamisation of the three arms of government at the moment). PDP is noisy (about the state of the nation it lost since 2015). Statesman Olusegun Obasanjo is clearing his throat (about his next letter to IBB on the implications of the annulled June 12 election result 26 years ago). Dr. Yakubu Gowon is praying (for peace for both the victor and the vanguished he declared since 1973). The CBN is planning (another consolidation) and migrating (to fiscal policy mode). The almighty NNPC is celebrating (the collapse of Petroleum Industry Governance Bill in the presidency and 8th Assembly). The President’s men are waiting and praying (for president’s (in)action on their re-appointments).

You know how to make plenty noise and regurgitate bullshyyte but when challenged to offer opinion on your own bullshyte you come up short.

Give opinion on your previous commemt where you believed SW is suitable for ruga.

OfficialAPCNig:
SE didn't vote for APC, so we don't deserve their Next Level Ruga project.

Since they don't consider worthy to hold a post at 9th NASS, we won't cede an inch of territory to their Ruga bullshitt.

If they impose on any of land, we would burn both the cow and the terrorists.

SW voted for Next Level, so they should top the list of beneficiary states.

Of course, they claim they are accommodators, so big deal accommodating some cows in their land.
So you voted PDP. Ok, is PDP going to stop Ruga from your land? If its not....whats the use of bringing APC into it? Ruga is not party line....its a policy for deployment nationwide.

Its about your Governors, put pressure on your Governors.

SW Governors have an announcement coming up on Wednesday. We are waiting to hear their talk. They will either give calm or they will make the region boil. If it boils it will consume them along.

I saw a letter reproduced by Reno where a contractor was awarded 361million and some change just for four weeks of work to construct a structure in a ruga.

We can shout anti-Ruga all we want. People are hungry. Our own people will be the ones lining up for the contract to build fulani colony in their ancestral land.

Make God punish me if I lie!

Suleiman is a salesman, not a pastor.

A salesman is the only person capable of convincing you that you will regain your lost sight...but your pocket will suffer if you follow his lead, and you still will remain sightless after the ordeal! grin

From the thread "Gani Adams warns SW Govs against giving to Fulani Herdsmen".

Here is my post...

These Governors dont understand what Aare is talking about. The set of Governors that will understand this message are dead and gone.

We in SW need a 50yr vision on renewing the Yorubaland contract.

In the time of our ancestors we alternated kings using characteristics. We enthrone a brutal and ambitious king because we expect him to protect the land fiercely against enemies. His brutality will be visited on his subjects from time to time but he is restrained by the fear of deposition so he behaves within limits internally with his subjects but acts with impunity externally facing others. After this king passes he is followed with a kind and amiable king. We do not want to completely isolate enemies and so the enemy we punished in the reign of last king, its time to ally with them under a new reign. Also, the hardship endured in the domain under last king, we need to soften the land with prosperity and plenty under new king. This is what Yoruba of old did.

We moved away from kingship to democracy....now we are ruled by western ideologies and demands our governors to be highly educated. So far we have abandoned our old tradition of nominating kings with predator instincts. Our governors are academic, they were not taught in sxhools how to be a predator, basically they are instructed that an educated person does not engage in fight, must allow others to enjoy the same thing he enjoys (liberalism). Western education instills in them prey instincts....how to sit in one spot and become food to others.

Yoruba must renew our contracts to the land and begin thinking of re-instituting the traditions of old and the acts of enthroning, or electing, governors with predator instincts.

If we get those type of governors they can key in to what Iba Gani Adams is saying here.

I want to reproduce a comment I typed and posted few days ago giving it a thread of its own. This is so because the nuances of my message is very fundamental to security and self preservation in SW and entire Yorubaland.

I also would like to say here that the Sovereingty of Nigeria rests on the back of Yorubaland. What I mean by that is you can remove certain groups from Nigeria and the country will survive the excision. You cannot remove Yoruba and Nigeria stay together and survive, impossible. The Colonials saw the same threat of imbalance and realized it is not expedient to Administer Oil Rivers Protectorate as a stand-alone territory. In its creation Oil Rivers had its own capital and existed alone and apart. The capital was Calabar. They had ports and trade there. So why was Oil Protectorate merged into Lagos Colony which covered entire SW? Its because of the unique advancement in Yoruba civilization. In fact, for those who might know, Lagos was once administered from Gold Coast. The Colonials separated it and gave it its own sovereingty. So Lagos could not be under another colony but protectorates can be put under Lagos. It all tied in to what the Colonial Administrators observed directly on the ground - when it comes to economy, social welfare, urban development, social organization, war, politics, the Yoruba is well advanced and too sophisticated above its neighbours. It must be at the top of the totem!

Between the time for that arrangement and now many far more drastic events have happened but none has succeeded in taming Yoruba from its ancient traditions and customs for preservation. Abacha pushed Yoruba to the edge and came very close to divesting itself from the Sovereingty of Nigeria. Some concessions in political access addressed their concerns and prevailed on Yoruba to remain part of Nigeria. Those in Yoruba who championed that turn around included Chief Falae and Obasanjo, both are at receiving ends of the Fulani stick. Im not in their minds but I can predict both wish they had not come out when offered Presidential ticket, which thus was the basis for the turn around.

Yoruba has a stock of lessons learnt in its back pocket that it knows exactly what to do if it was ever pushed to the edge and has to make a decision and choice between Self Sovereingty and Nigerian Sovereingty. Yoruba has nothing to loose.

Therefore, in the current temperament on the landscape, Yoruba ought to champion the voice of the nation against occupation, killings, religious persecution and everything else happening around the country. Why is Yoruba not defending liberty of those who are suppressed? Yoruba's choice of silence when it happened elsewhere is now roosting in our own land. Its not late! Yoruba is the only region with capacity to tell FG to go fvck itself and hell will not break.....if it did there will be consequences and an inferno that will incinerate Nigeria to ashes. Guaranteed!

There are factors, internal and external, first of all which make this difficult. What I present below is one of the internal factors. With awareness and conscious action this can be changed so that Yorubas begin to alternate in each state Governors to fit a particular archetype of Yoruba legend rulers.
