It's pathetic to read some posts here which are nothing but kenspeckle display of ignorance in a public forum. It's wise to research before posting comment. Adichie is an outstanding writer and making waves in her trade as a wordsmith. WS has made his mark and they are indelible. No need to compare but if you must compare, you should know that for every junior, there is a senior. And for every child, there are parents (donors). She is still upcoming where WS is, and she is part of the now and the future. Adichie is still climbing, she would never denigrate the achievements of WS, at least not openly. |
Politics / Re: Interim Govt A Plot By APC, DSS To Subvert Election Tribunal, Says PDP by mexite: 9:48am On Apr 03, 2023 |
How can Buhari who got 12 million votes be declared the winner against Yar'Adua who got over 22 million votes? The constitution is clear about the conditions to be satisfied to be declared the winner; simple majority and 25% of valid votes cast in ⅔rd of the states in Nigeria (and the FCT). These rules are mutually inclusive and must simultaneously occur. malcom1X: |

This is entirely wrong. Imagine name calling an entire tribe, if it was the other way round, you would start screaming. The same tribe that gave your preferred candidates massive support in the SW region, that LP even won a whole Osun State. As much as many youths in the Southern region wants Obi, everyone has a choice, and you can't force/bully people to agreeing to yours. It's called a democracy for a reason. Hendrixky: |

Unfortunately, if you have got to the page where you are directed to pay for IHS fees, you would be unable to edit previous information supplied on your application. Possible solutions: 1. If you have not paid the IHS and Visa fees yet, you can cancel the current application and start another one afresh. 2. If you have paid your IHS and Visa fees, then you should write a cover letter (pdf) stating what error you made and the correct information. Attach it as part of the documents you are to upload under "Others". Calmlolly: |

Education / Re: University Admission: UK To Crack Down On Nigerians by mexite: 1:34pm On Nov 26, 2022 |
The speculation is about international students and not specifically Nigerians but trust our dailies and Nigerian people to make it about us just because a large number of Nigerians emigrated in 2022. They can only make it stricter to plug some loopholes in the system but not to totally abolish migration via study. Foreigners contribute significantly to their NHS, human resources and even economy. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

Politics / Re: Insulting Our Prophet Mohammed Is Our Uncompromising Redline – Adamu Garba by mexite: 9:45pm On May 15, 2022 |
Since you are looking for justification for the gruesome murder of Deborah even by quoting from the Bible, I will attempt to enlighten you and disabuse your reprobate mind from this line of thought, and to establish that these scriptures have never found a place in Christianity whether in the early times or the contemporary as practiced in many nations today. In the old testament, the laws and commandments were given to guide the Israelites and there were punishment for violating these laws, some of which came with capital punishment as you quoted in the passages above. "And according to the law almost all things are purged with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission." (Hebrews 9:22). However, our God being a merciful one, not just in name but in deed, with full understanding of the weak frame of man (Psalms 103:14) initiated a new covenant through our mediator, Jesus Christ, which is better than the old covenant. Because, despite the strictness of the laws and their heavy penalties, man still continued to break the laws and suffer the consequences. This can be attributed to some fundamental faults in the implementation of those laws by man, and the inherent adamic nature of man "For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second." (Hebrews 8:7) Christ came to fulfill and/or accomplish the law in the biggest sacrifice ever known to mankind, that the son of God would give himself as the sacrificial lamb for the sins, blasphemy inclusive, of the world. "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." (Roman's 10:4). So there was no need to put men to death for sins such as fornication, adultery, blasphemy, and the likes. Jesus exemplified this in the story of the woman caught in the act of adultery (John 8: 3 - 11). The punishment according to the law for such sin is stoning to death. However, when the accusers came in their usual overzealous manner, such as demonstrated by the murderers of Deborah, he asked them a simple question: "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." (John 8:7b). Eventually, all her accusers departed and her life was spared. She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." (John 8:11) This is one of the ways Jesus exemplified himself as the fulfillment of the LAW. There are several other examples. Jesus preached and encouraged repentance. He never for once called for the head of anyone, rather he stood and still stands as an advocate before the father for all sinners. But it is unfortunate that many people like you are finding justification for this barbaric act instead of condemning it. What will you gain from sucking the blood of others? Are you savages or vampires? WHOEVER KILLS OTHERS IN THE NAME OF THE LORD IS NOTHING BUT A MURDERER. KNOW THIS AND KNOW PEACE. System202: |

This man is always crying wolf where there is none. He appears to be a Muslim supremacist and a religious fanatics. He likes to be in the news always by blowing issues out of proportion and raising alarm for fire where there isn't smoke. Scientific assertions are backed by adequate statistical evidence but this professor chooses to use one for many approach as a convenient means to support his penchant for national divide through religion. If you check through the list of commissioners in the Oyo State government, you would see that Muslims are well represented. So why does he categorize Makinde as a Muslim hater? In other states where Muslims form the majority, has he ever spoken about the oppression of people of other faith in such states? He that must come to equity must come with clean hands. We understand that you are an unrepentant jihadist, but don't throw caution to wind sir by constantly fanning the embers of division among the Yorubas. 1 Like |

The only academic career information about him is captured in his bio on Wikipedia "Pantami lectured at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Information Technology before joining the Islamic University of Madinah as Head of Technical Writing in 2014" Promoting him to the rank of a professor at FUTO begs for some questions? 1. Did he transfer his service from his last known workplace to FUTO? 2. What research and polemic contributions has he contributed to the research/academic community of FUTO and the body of science in recent years? Or maybe the professorship is not an academic/theory-based as we know. Congratulations to him notwithstanding. |

That doesn't still mean that crypto is scam. The problem is its high volatility, and it's not unconnected to the fact that the industry isn't regulated allowing easy manipulation and every Dick and Harry to create new coins. Ask majority of guys complaining today, many invested in shitcoins that were created on BSC just like the hay days of ICO on Ethereum blockchain. na2016: 2 Likes 1 Share |
