hell no it's not right! i saw a similar situation is some Naija/Ghanian movie i came across by accident and was completely pissed off for a week! how can people in a HOSPITAL watch somebody die because there is no paper from the Naija police? (who will most likely arrest you when you go to get it sef) I thought that Doctors take the Hippocratic oath before they start practicing? aren't they obliged to save lives in any situation they can? the whole thing is bullshitty, can't they sort out the police wahala after the person has been stabilized? even if this law was thought up because they assume it's criminals that will most likely come in with gunshot wounds, is it not still wrong? how will the hypothetical criminal be condemnded to death without hearing or trial? it's some very messed up law that should be discarded |
if one personality decides the other one is a threat to its life and tries to kill it? hehe, I'm sorry if that sounded insensitive.i couldn't resist, I read this novel where the main character was schizophrenic, and they dealt with it through therapy, so that's my suggestion; apart from the drugs recommended by your physician, regular theraphy sessions with a psychologist are crucial, and about the other thing.i don't think it kills. especially not directly, it may be possible for a person to have an accident while they are in a trance or hallucinating or whatever, but the condition itself is not mortal, just reeally annoying, i can imagine |
folabim: ifyalways:aaah, i feel you guys, Bole wiv roasted fish and corrrrect pepper sauce! *drools*, can't imagine how people choke doen bole with groundnut, isn't it too dry? i haven't tried it shaaa, but nothing can ever rival PH bole with fishh :d |
calmly go to the kitchen anc boil hot water, take out a matchete and sharpen it just joking o!really, honestly? at that moment, i'll just walk out and go somwhere to think, for as long as i need to. When i'm done with that we'll have a long talk. My sister will be completely ignored, because it's not her i exchanged vows with, she's not the one that swore to be by my side no matter what. It's the goat of a husband lol, but it's marriage, don't think i'll get divorced or anything, especially if we already have children, but it's not something i can ever forget, it's betrayal on too many levels! ta, odikwa too low now ![]() |
*humming p-Squares Omoge mi*, if na you, tell me wetin you go do your girlfrienddd ![]() Your brother is boinkin your girlfriend and you still refer to her in present tense? lai lai o, there is no plausible excuse for it, what will she say? "i thought he was you?" i'm all for forgiveness, but for this kind of thing, it's not necessary, let her and him enjoy their boiking merrily while you move on with your life , but i do get how he'll forgive his brother.(even though it's lower than low for the brother to do what he did).blood is thicker than water innit? the guy was there before the girl and the gurl was just dumb to be shagging brothers, bright side is that everyone is clear on the kind of person the girl is, who next? Daddy? Uncle jonathan? ![]() |
eyy that's a cheap thing to do o, after the first date? after the tenth one sef, it's not appropriate. I have strict principles for those things, even when the person himself offers to get me the recharge card, however reasonable the reason is (er, he used all my credit to do emergency call, for instance) i tend not to accept it. It's only from certain people i accept recharge cards, usually friends that have no strings attached! |
MFM straight up! , run o, let your leg touch the back of your head, there is no reason to be doing blood covenant, at all at all, to bind yourself to one person forever? i know it seems like hype o, but i don't joke with blood at all at all. Keep it inside your body as much as possible jare! How will she evenbe askin you for it? @Lovesopure, omo i dey fear you o! which kind of love is it that you need blood oath to trust the person and feel secure inthe relationship? if a person feels that it's a blood oath that will hold a person, then maybe you and that person are just not meant to be, haba |
LOL, una no go kill me here o! I totally "get" why the farting seems to be an issue, but i feel you can only pretend your body is not capable of it for so long. How long can a person go acting like dem no dey mess ehn? Ideally, you won't nust a fart on the first date (d'uh!), but when you've been with a person long enough, you'll eventually get to a point where you can fart in front of your man and not die of embarassment, and he won't mind, or make a big deal out of it. Take marriage for instance, how can you and somebody live in the same house for ten years and you'll be feeling like you've commited a crime because you farted? abegggg! and shaving too, all these things have to happen o, and they don't happen by mistake, they have to be "done". It's not like anyone will go and sit on their man's lap before shaving, ![]() but the tampon/sanitary towel thing, HABA, that's taking it toooo far, theres no reason for anybody at all to have to look at that! @The childbirth issue, yea, it's all symbolic and beautiful for what it is, buh mehn, that is some DISGUSTING physical ish, you can't deny that, it ain't pleasant to look at in any way at all, shuo, blood, mutation of body parts, shyt, ah, people are able to overlook that because it's their freaking child that's being born, but that doesn't change the fact that it's eeeeew ![]() |
Twix?? |
Shaving cream and digestive biscuit ![]() TomTom and bread , and i heard people actually do this; Toothpaste and bread ![]() |
turban |
@Funti, Abi?i came here thinking it was Archie and them o, lol, @Poster, i think you meant "Sweet Valley High", that one has twin girls in it, Elizabeth and Jessica if i remember correctly, |
nooooo! i'll fight somebody here o! LOL, I like Robinson Crusoeeeeee!, it's not as heartbreaking as all those "tess de Uberville-ish" type things , i would have picked Robinson Crusoe mehn |
I love christian Fiction books!! it started with the whole Left Behind series (which is just awesome!), and then Ted Dekker, wow! he is just brilliant! Someone suggested "this present darkness" by Frank Peretti for beginners, but mehn, i actually bought that book, my first F.P book, and lordy! i cannot read it!, is something wrong with me? so many people seem to like him, and i just don't get it, guess i'll have to give the book a second try, ooh, and the Christy Miller and 'Nama beach high series are also really good, mostly for younger/teenage readers, really inspirational, because they can see christianity in an environment and situations they can relate to |
aww, Ted Dekker is really really good! picked up "Black" one day because i was out of what to read and it just caught my eye in the bookstore, was there the nest day to get red, and begged and pleaded wiv the owner to get white asap! lol, it was so bad that they sent me an sms the moment they got it! my all time favourite, though, is Blink, out of the ones i've read that is.the circle trilogy is amazing too, wasn't really taken with obsessed, it was a good read, but felt a little far fetched, lol Can somebody help me understand this Frank Peretti thing? i don't send the dude at all, or maybe i just picked up the wrong book, the one i got is "this present darkness", and Lord knows i've tried to get past the first chapter, |
"anything you say will be misquoted and used against you" that one^^ makes "silence is Golden" all the more plausible! |
nuttyproff:rotflmao, gosh i can't stand when people open their mouths and ignorance pours out, King as in Stephen? Danielle Steele? if you don't know what people are talking about, respect yourself, keep quiet and move on!, and if you thought the Russian Lit you read was messed up and amature? you've only managed to insult yourself and declare to the world your inability to grasp the concept of what was written, lol, Stephen King, Like comparing Archie Comics to Shakespeare, On the issue of Russian Lit though, i'm currently reading "The Idiot" by Dostoyevski, and have crime and punishment lined up, and have read some of Chehov's work too, deep ish o! them Russians, all psychological and ish ![]() |
HP fan here! except that i do not paticularly "send" Harry , i cried when i read the last book mehn, it was like, nothing to look foward too *sigh*, still read them over periodically, nearly had heartbreak when Sirius died, i was like WTF? they JUST MET!, but the thing that keeps making the deaths not seem so tragic is the fact that you can talk to the people in portraits :d lol, biggest personal joy? Snape was good afterall! ha! i used to tell people oh, no one believed me, i liked Snape for the longest time, don't even ask me why!, and Dobby? kai, that thing used to upset me, what with banging his head at every interval, lol, then the people she killed off, another sad thing, az in. why couldn't Pery die, ehn?! mchuu |
Forgive me, but i cannot narrow it down to one! and i don't think i've even read a tenth of the books that will leave a lasting impression on me, but here goes, Angelique, Marquise of the angels, this book is that BOMB!it's by Serge and Anne Golon Memoirs of a Geisha The Godfather by Mario Puzo, is perfection! Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, could read it over and over without taking breaks Journey to the centre of the earth, Brilliant! "The Idiot" by Fyodr Dostoyevski, wow Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, words cannot describe! it was the first "serious" book i read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, too much of a classic to overlook! Then theres this trilogy that breaks my heart, the books are A boy called it The lost boy A man called Dave i swear, you cannot read that and remain the same person. and Maniac McGee, cannot remember who wrote that one, but the way it talks about innocence and racism is just remarkable and another trilogy, the His Dark Matters trilogy The golden compass (this is the new name) The amber spyglass The subtle Knife. that trilogy helped me appreciate the whole fantasy genre and then there's Ted Dekkers "the circle" trilogy. Black, Red and White, and Blink By ted Dekker too I'm sure i've left out a book or two, but all the above, brilliant stuff, brilliant!, i know it looks like a lot o.but they are all dear to me mehn! |
whoa! look at me getting all teary eyed because of this thread! love would be an understatement if i said i love Enid Blyton's books. I lived in those books mehn, used to go to sleep replaying the plots in my head, used to read like one of the "collection of stories" books every day. Used to JUMP up and down whenever i got a new E.B book, Vowed to read them even when i was 30, mallory Towers- i was in love with! The enchanted chair, the magic faraway tree, the famous 5 ( the tv adaptation wasn't half bad either!), the secret 7, It should be made mandatory that children read Enid Blytons books in their childhood, because they are special, no lie! my children are SO going to have an Enid Blyton Library! |
Enstrangement, by Elechi Amadi Anthills of the Savannah The Joys of Motherhood The Gods are not to blame Half of a Yellow Sun Ake; the years of childhood (does this one count?) Things Fall apart (d'uh!) and Similia and the prisoners of Jero (not too sure bout the name anymore),and Soza Boy by Ken Saro Wiwa The Beautiful ones are not yet born Wizard of the Crow by Nguigi Wa Thiongo |
LOL! secondary school ish, good memories though, i liked Silas Marner, i remember i did at least, read it and felt incredibly sad for some reason, the man was so, good. ![]() Sizwe Bansi was ayt too, switching Id'z, good times sha |
hm, before i go into this, no be Plays Shakespeare dey write? , My all time favourite is the Merchant of Venice, nobody seems to have mentioned it, it's brilliant!, and i like Hamlet, and A Midsummers Night dream and twelfth Night and, lemme shut up before i get carried away, LOL!, Romeo and Juliet is nice, that's undisputable, but i stubbornly refuse to mention it, because it's too cheesy! ![]() |
"don't take life too seriously-you won't come out alive anyway" don't know the source can't seem to remember all the quotes i routinely hoard, forgive me, i'll try and be back! ![]() |
hmm, i was about to say "no it isn't", taking into consideration the fact that people buy handbags for more than hundred thousand, but then most of you have made a really good point with the whole "it's only for a day" thing. Practically speaking, a handbag is put to more use , then there is the issue of affordability. Not that you'll go and get a wedding dress for 500 thousand and be in debt up until your 40th anniversary ![]() Honestly though, i'd still say it's worth it. Weddings are special to us women, it's that one day where we can completely be indulged, feel like "princesses" and what not ![]() so i think it's worth spending money on the dress that you really really like |
Advin:ROTFLMAO! especially at "God's apprentice" and "Wowo woth confidence", the wowo with confidence one seems to be the one i see all too much o! people just flaunting the wowo like no man's business, feelin hotter than hot, LOL, wow with confidence indeed! |
@karmaMod, how so? being realistic is now desperation? or you are just desperate to call someone out on something, anything, doesn't matter what? just stick to the topic and try to understand what a person is saying and not ignore it just so you can feel like you've insulted someone.pshhh |
rotflmao, ", much girls that match my intelligent", hmm, i guess the term, "intelligence" is relative, because the post? Gaddemn, oh well, i guess the poster is referring to those completely hopeless people when he speaks of girls lacking adequate intelligence, the whole thing is still rather funny nevertheless ![]() |
Wow. No offence to the poster, but wow. Sertisfwhat? "how possible"?? i'm off to take a deep breath because i think my brain just jammed trying to decipher that, |
hehehehe!!! yes :|.if i have to squint to see the "rock", lmao! i joke! i joke! i kid! i kid!, it would be heartless to return it, n'est pas? especially so soon and so crudely, Honestly though, i feel her not liking the ring. If i'm completely not "feeling" the ring, i'll find a way to tell him so quite diplomatically so it's not like i'm insulting him or anything, just asking him to understand from my point of view, just like if someone gets you a hideous jacket, e no go upset you to dey rock am? LOL, But for the guys, they should take the time to know what would appeal to her, because even though we all would like to say "it's the thought that counts", if the thing completely freaks her out, hmmm, and if that's what he can afford, then shw should understand and respect that, if na by force, they can work out an arrangement where he upgrades the ring in future, I've heard of those kinds of situations o, like when the ring is diamondless, and the diamond is added later, |
if one personality decides the other one is a threat to its life and tries to kill it? hehe,
lol, but it's marriage, don't think i'll get divorced or anything, especially if we already have children, but it's not something i can ever forget, it's betrayal on too many levels! ta, odikwa too low now
