Politics › Tinubu Closes Buhari’s Single Treasury Account, Asks Mdas To Remit 100% Revenue by Midex88(op): 5:09pm On Jan 03, 2024 |
President Bola Tinubu’s administration has directed that all ministries, departments, and agencies fully funded by the federal government remit 100 per cent of their revenues into a Sub-Recurrent Account, a sub-component of the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF), where the federal government will now receive and consolidate its revenue earnings.
This directive, issued in a December 28 circular by the Finance Ministry and publicised on Tuesday, effectively closes the single treasury account operated under the erstwhile Muhammadu Buhari administration.
It is the latest of the federal cabinet’s move to “improve revenue generation, fiscal discipline, accountability and transparency” in resource management and waste prevention under Bola Tinubu’s nascent presidency.
“All Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAS) that are fully funded through the annual federal government budget (receiving personnel, overhead and capital allocation) and on the schedule of Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007 and any addition by the Federal Ministry of Finance should remit one hundred per cent of their Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to the Sub-Recurrent Account, which is a Sub-component of the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF),” the directive read.
“Agencies and departments that are partly funded by the federal government – having budgetary allocations for capital or overhead expenditures – are expected to remit 50 per cent of their gross revenue while statutory revenue like “tender fees, contractor’s registration, sales of government assets, etc should be remitted one 100 per cent to the sub-recurrent account,” it added.
Agencies not funded by the federal government are also expected to remit 50 per cent of their generated revenues.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation shall open new TSA Sub-Accounts for all Federal Government Agencies/Parastatals listed on the schedule of Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007 and any additions by the Federal Ministry of Finance, except where expressly exempted.
“The new account opened for Agencies/Parastatal shall be credited with inflows in the old revenue-collecting accounts based on the new policy implementation of 50 per cent auto deduction in line with Finance Act, 2020 and Finance Circular, 2021, 50per cent cost to revenue ratio,” it added.

*In Yorubaland, money has never been foremost in Yoruba value system*
*In our value system money is number six*
*What are the first five you may ask?*
1. The first is làákà’yè - The application of knowledge, wisdom & understanding... (Ogbón and ìmò òye)
2. The second is Ìwà Omolúàbí - (integrity) Someone with integrity is a man/woman of their words.
If you have all the wealth in the world but lack integrity, you are not worth a thing. Integrity is combined with iwa, (character) which we regard as Omolúàbí.
3. The third is Akínkanjú or Akin - (Valour).
That is why Balóguns is second-in-command to the leaders in Yoruba land.
Balóguns are people that can lead them to war.
To lead with great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle.
Yoruba people have no respect for cowards.
4. The fourth is Anísélápá tí kìíse òle - (Having a visible means of livelihood).
A person must be identified with a visible means of livelihood that guarantees a lawful income or sustenance. His or her profession or job must be open and legally approved by society, and not through cheating or forcefulness.
5. The fifth is iyi - (Honour) Yoruba people place a premium on the gait with which individuals carry themselves and public reputation.
That is why Yorùbá people usually say when you set out to look for money and you meet honour on the way then you don't need the journey anymore, because if you get the money, you will still use it to buy honour.
6. The last in the Yorùbá value system is owó tàbí orò - (Money or wealth).
If putting money ahead of the other five, then you are nobody in Yoruba land.

wallg123: Oga reorganise your question. Do you mean his Right to work document/ residents permit? Or Nigerian passport? If it’s a job in the UK then it doesn’t matter the status of his Nigerian passport. What matter is his right to work in the UK/ Residents Permit Sorry jare... his right to work is fine, biometric card and share code/residence permit/visa is okay.... the only issue is the international passport which expired In August 2023 and he has made a renewal application slated for November 2023. She has mailed the passport renewal application and the expired international passport to this employer but wants to be sure if it's fine.. Thanks |

Good morning house, Urgent. A friend just got a new job before his passport renewal time of Nov 21.
Now he wants to know if the old expired passport can be used in data screening for the new job and if Not, what other documents can be sufficed in place of the expired passport. N.B. Right to work/Residence Permit, Sharecode, Visa/BRP are all fine... Any advice from people with similar experience will be appreciated.
Thanks. |

OBA2503: There's one love story I want to share. This guy was a popular ex-Nigerian footballer. We used to live in an estate in Lagos which had one of these division one bank clubs back then in the area. The guy na top striker that was seeing a beautiful, buxom secondary school babe. The babe's dad was one igbo man that had four daughters. Mehn! Those girls fine sha....and the papa was always brandishing cutlass at any slightest provocation. Everyone knew you had to steer clear of the man and thread around with the daughters cautiously. Fortunately or unfortunately, those girls sef wan spoil. As an aspiring footballer myself in the feeder team, the guy na like my hero cos hat-trick na like normal stuff on training day. One day, we were talking and he was describing the lady to me. I told him the lady's father na kolomental o. Instead, he was insistent on me acting as the inside spy. That was how I became the link man. Each time, they wanted to meet, as the small boy neighbour nah, I will innocently go to their house to play with the younger ones who were my mates and tell the lady, top striker was around. She will sneak through the back door as I waited in the house watching the fathers every movement. Once the man starts taking head count and calling out for her name, I will immediately leave the house and blow the alarm for the two lovers at their meeting point. To cut the long story short, top striker fire baby belle o but shortly after he signed a lucrative contract with one of the five big football clubs in Ukraine and travelled out. Na so story change. The day the father knew she was pregnant, all hell broke loose. Literally, there was pandemonium in my neighbours house, it was maximum chaos. Everybody was brutalised from mother to the last child. Nobody was allowed to visit their house again. The remaining children were under house arrest.....LOL! As belle was growing, na so the man dey paranoid cos the lady kept telling the father the man responsible for the pregnancy was out of the country. This repeated statement kept bursting the man's head as he did not believe and was threatening to carve out the unborn baby from the girls stomach. Come December, top striker was given opportunity to travel back to Nigeria for Xmas. It still remains the best Xmas of my younger days. Meanwhile, myself and top striker were in constant communication. He called me to meet him up at the airport with one of his friends. As we left the airport, we went to Apapa to buy a brand new Mercedes benz car. We branched some grocery supermarket, loaded the two vehicles with goodies and headed to Papa-Mazi iweka's house (not real name). That was the first time I saw papa iweka smile. I was loaded with cash throughout that period. We run Lagos that time. Today, top striker and lady are happily married with three boys and one of the boys have been tipped to break into one of the mid table clubs currently playing in the Premier league. Apologies for the long read. Hope you enjoyed it. na true story o. Drop your comments..... This your story na Aghahowa |
