Two questions pls...
- what supplements or vitamins can u recommend to a woman in her mid thirties planning a first pregnancy? NB: regular menstrual cycles &no issues for now.
- what supplements/vitamins/bitters (not drugs) would u recommend for seniors in their sixties who've had BP issues bt has well improved? This is in a bid to totally stop d BP meds which they've been gradually weaned off with many lifestyle changes.

Not everyone is reckless though. It's only that the abominable has become d normal. We've replaced morals&correction with "Don't judge, are u a saint? He who has no sin..., etc".

Cultivate a habit of taking a glass of warm lemon juice when u wake up in d morning. It helps prepare ur body systems, esp d digestive tract for d day. Ensure dt ur meals are balance wif almost all d nutrients; take more of fruits, vegies&water thruout d day. Learn to eat small food portions at a time. If symptoms persist after 2wks, visit a good teaching hospital.

I sympathise with her but maybe she shdnt av made d pics public. Also, ow come d reason for d loss is a shared placenta. That isn't uncommon in identical twins; it's advisable she goes for further investigation, there cld be more.

U may try to divert d funds in dt acct whose cards he has into another&then release d pin to him to know what he wants to do with it. In case it's ur salary acct however, make sure u make all arrangements to change dt bf divulging d pin since there're trust issues.

Hmmm...it's in Nigeria dt a woman in labour pains will be slapped for not cooperating.

I was once taken to a govt hospital after an accident &d attendant kept insisting dt I'd not stated what I wanted frm d hospital.

After scaling dt hurdle, d doc said I cldnt av had any fractures &remained as I was.

Finally to get medications, I was asked to go upstairs (with obviously painful pelvis) for injection as d nurse cldnt come downstairs to meet me. I gently asked dem to keep their meds bf they found anoda way ...

I had an idea from relatives who are med practitioners,movies,ppl's experiences, etc. how normally patients shd be treated but I was amazed myself when I experienced better medical care.

Yes, d situation in d country is a factor bt you'll just know a professional who is passionate about his job despite his substandard working condition.

Let me start this way. There is a reason these hospitals are called 'teaching hospitals' and everywhere around the world they are licensed to teach students the art of Medicine. Now our lecturers and lecturers before them were taught the same way. Medicine is such that there is no other way to teach students clinicals without exposing them to real patients.

By the time the Drs retire or die how will the students know how to perform that surgery?

- the fact remains that most nigerians aren't made or allowed to know their rights, reasons for most or all of what we have to go through with the thoughts of it being d norm.
Doctors in nigeria like to be regarded as demi-gods when u go for consultation, nt until they find out that u really know what u're doing bf they calm down wif u.
They're hardly patient with their patients; they jst want to rush all d process &prescribe drugs even when there shd av been alternatives.
U see doctors here arguing with or resisting being guided by a knowledgable patient who knows his/her body more
- even if patients get to know that they av an option of permitting med students or not, not all will decline
- also, all humans are fallible but docs hardly ever own up to their mistakes. They always find a way to defend themselves, esp when d said mistake is found out by another hospital medical staff.

I know what I'm talking about, nothing abt what sm ppl who feel inferior to them are saying. It's good u understand I said most, though things are changing over time with fresh blood who are down to earth in d profession.

Lol...unlike you who doesn't like to admit wrong I know of course that there are wayward Drs. We have a number of perverted Drs too. I won't defend what's wrong. If they are caught they could face dire consequences. That said, no lady or guy should be examined by the opposite sex without having a chaperone present. This is the standard practice and Drs are even warned not to examine patients without a chaperone present.

Do they adhere? I'd to ask for a female nurse to join us in a male doc's office while doing a pelvic examination.

I enjoy exposing kingazubuike ignorance. Imagine asking a patient who is 6 weeks gone but doesn't even know and obviously did not test if she's pregnant. Yet that is the appropriate question to ask according to him.

Why not ask for her LMP instead?

When the doctor told me as a young boy who just clocked 18 in 2012 and he told me I had to inject myself because I have Type 1 Diabetes and I have to manage it myself. If u dont want to be used to teach medical students dont go to teaching hospitals.. U can go to general hospital.. Permission is not taken from patients before they can be used to teach medical students

Permission can be taken in saner environments & u can even politely request dt certain ppl don't touch u.

- after sitting for up to 30 mins, take a short break&move around a little.
- stop lifting heavy objects
- learn to bend ur knees&not ur back
- after a long day, bathe in warm water at night&raise ur legs while u lay on ur back for d night.
- get a hot water bottle(d rubber type pneumonia patients used then), follow directions,fill it with hot water&place it on d spot for 15-20 mins morning &night. Then apply shea butter,neurogesic or diclofenac ointment.
- get adequate rest
