Nice one by the Tinubu government. Next is the decentralization of most of the military institution massively concentrated in Kaduna especially the army.
Stop giving undue credit to someone who may be clueless about some development.
This Army depot was probably approved and contract for the construction awarded long before Tinubu became president. All the processes, approval and construction, posting/recruitment of personnel etc. could not have been done in the last 2 and half years.

Good analysis, though a bit ambitious with the assumption/expectation since it is Wale we are talking of.
To add, Oando has about the fourth lowest P/E ratio on the NGX, higher only than Access, ETI and UBA. What a stock!
Oando is in a peculiar situation though

Damage control from KPMG

I believed they were not professional enough as a top firm
It is rather damage control by the NRS and FG team.
It is totally unprofessional for firms like the Big 4 (KPMG, Deloitte, EY, PWC), not to be carried along for their professional input and advice on a major tax reform. The NRS probably knows KPMG was right in many of their concerns, hence the meeting to cool them down and control the damage. Imagine if Deloitte and EY should also issue their own criticisms of the new tax laws

Okexchange:
Did you notice only the Oyo treaty has the Yoruba name? That’s why the Oyos owned the name exclusively. You can see that Ife didn’t use the name. It was later that every Yoruba chose to accept the Yoruba identity for uniformity. So whenever anyone talks about Yoruba and Yorubaland, one is literally referring to old Oyo land (which doesn’t covered the whole lands of the descendants of Odua of course). I think that’s where the pride of the new Alaafin is coming from but he failed to realize its a new order in town. No descendants of Oodua still owes their loyalty to Oyo. I’m pretty sure he will realize soon that he’s just the Alaafin of Oyo ile and has no subject anywhere anymore.
Just ask yourself who is the progenitor of the Yoruba race and where was his kingdom and throne. Oyo can never be higher or greater than Ife in terms of historical, cultural and spiritual relevance in Yoruba land.

This incident and various comments above on this subject has further corroborated my position THAT, the Yorubaland is NOT united.

To those of you clamouring for a Yoruba nation, you can now see the futility of your ambition. Isn't it when you have a United front you can push for your dream? Now if it is not Ooni and Alaafin, it will be Soun and Alaafin or Alaafin and Olubadan!
Sad, very sad.
Thankful,I haven't heard about Awujale and England monarchy exchanging words.
Tell me why will the Sultans and the Emirs not take our royal fathers for granted?
Even the youths that should be thinking about how to resolve these unending mess and busy taking sides. Long way, we have a long way to go.
The Alaafin cannot talk if there is Oduduwa Republic because all other Obas know that Ooni is superior. During the regional system, Ooni Aderemi was the governor of western region and head of all Yoruba Obas.

If you say Oni of Ife is superior I understand and because of Oduduwa but I don't see how Oba of Benin is superior to Alaafin
The Oba of Benin kingdom (the throne) was founded by Oranmitan for many years before he left Benin to go and establish Oyo kingdom.
That is where the seniority comes from.
Oyo kingdom became famous only because they fought wars and conquered territories

We all know the truth but some truths may be uncomfortable.
Same with you Igbos, some children moved abroad ages ago and established new base but their family house in the village still remained. If your village Dibia is asked to oversee your family house, does that make him and his descendants the lawful owners and leaders of your lineage? Even if Dibia's offsprings decided to cut and join history and tales by moonlight to divert the truth, it will continue to hook them for neck forever. Dibia na Dibia.
Just leave our people with abracadabra. We know each other very well grin
Oranmiyan proved he was the son of The Source and not an impostor; that is why he abandoned the inferior throne of Alaafin of Oyo (which he founded) to seek the superior throne of Ooni of Ife (as a true grandson of Oduduwa).
Anyway, there are always mischief and trouble makers in every family, lineage, kingdom, who always fight whatever they cannot have or cannot become.
People like Alaafin and his supporters are free to make up stories and tell lies that make them feel important and happy with themselves.

The fact is that the Olubadan is an elderly man while the Alafin is a young man. The Olubadan may feel insulted that the young man is demanding a handshake from an elderly man like him.
It is very disrespectful for the Alaafin to sit down and stretch out his hand to shake the Olubadan while he (Olubadan) was on his feet.
In Yoruba culture, he should have found a way to greet the Olubadan behind closed doors, and not to stretch out his hands like that in public!

I am Igbo so I won't claim to be an expert in Yoruba history. But from the little history I know should the alaffin of oyo not be the highest stool in Yoruba land? I know of the great oyo empire that stretched far and wide. I have never heard of ife empire or Ibadan empire. I believe that Ibadan was under the control of the alaffin so olubadan naturally should be a subject of the alaffin. If this was the 16th century the olubadan would be beheaded for this disrespect. The alaffin was a good king like Xerxes of persia
The so-called Oyo Empire is history as written by the white man. And Oyo empire itself became famous only because they had great warriors who were fighting wars and conquered some additional territories. But seniority among Yoruba Obas is not about military strength.
Even at that, none of the Yoruba kingdoms could ever wage war against Ile-Ife because that is sacred their source and other kingdoms would rise against any kingdom that wages war against Ile-Ife.
There is no sensible Yoruba man or woman that would ever say the Alaafin is higher than Ooni in terms of seniority. Only ignorant people o would make that silly mistake.

From your version, Oranmiyan is Alaafin and and Oranmiyan is Ooni but which of Okanbi's children was the Ooni while Oranmiyan was away?
That is no longer important because Oranmiyan himself abandoned the Oyo throne (inferior) and came back to Ife to occupy the Ife throne (superior) as the 6th Ooni of Ife; and he was buried in Ile-Ife.
The staff and shrine of Oranmiyan (who founded both Benin and Oyo) can only be found in Ile-Ife! What does that tell you?
It is only those who are ignorant that would be comparing the throne of Ooni with Alaafin. Even the Oba of Benin is superior and senior to Alaafin in heirachy

Some of you just type whatever you like and you are only giving publicity to your ignorance Oduduwa, the Yoruba deity, had just *one biological son* named Okanbi (also called Omonide). Okanbi fathered *seven children*, considered Oduduwa's grandchildren, who founded various kingdoms:
- *Olowu of Owu*
- *Onisbe of Sabe*
- *Onipopo of Popo*
- *Oba of Benin*
- *Orangun of Ila*
- *Alaketu of Ketu*
- *Alafin of Oyo
Where is Oni there
There is no single son of Okanbi called ''Alaafin''.
Stop typing rubbish if you dont know the history of Oduduwa and Okanbi.

Okanbi also gave birth to Oranmiyan (one of his children) who later founded Benin Kingdom, and from there he went to establish Oyo kindgom and became ''Alaafin'' of Oyo.
The same Oranmiyan abandoned his throne in Oyo and returned to rule Ile-Ife as the 6th Ooni of Ife. He died and was buried in Ile-Ife.
This singular act of Oranmiyan shows that the Ooni of Ife and Oba of Benin are both superior to the Alaafin of Oyo.
Oranmiyan also gave birth to sons who later became Ooni of Ife.

The guy just need to calm down and accept criticism in good faith.
No law is perfect and we can always work on it to improve the outcome.
I however don't subscribe to the suggestion that the process was rushed. People will still pick hole even if it takes us 20 yrs to prepare the law.
As at today people are still criticizing tax laws in uk, Australia and many more countries.
As someone that works with PWC, it is shocking to see other members of The Big Four (KPMG, Deloitte, EY) picking holes in the new tax law. My expectation was that he should have consulted very widely from his ''constituents'' i.e. fellow tax professionals in the big accounting firms, instead of relying on what the govt wanted him to do and some tax regulations, templates from France, UK or elsewhere.
The mere fact that the NGX almost went down before they decided to adjust the reference date for CGT, the Finance minister setting up an Implementation Committee to review/reassess some aspects of the law, and now contemplating a reduction in the CGT rate below 30% are clear indications of poor consultation and a rush in handling whole process.

Taiwo Oyedele apparently saw his appointment as an opportunity to rush and do what his appointors wanted him to do, with little regard to the effect on whole citizenry. He obviously did not consult other experts and stakeholders in the industry, e,g. Deloitte, KPMG, EY etc., hence the critiques by these firms.
He even proposed an increment in VAT but the NASS shut it down.
