press9jatv:What is wrong with these women that tie this useless, overly long, disgusting thing called ''wig'' on their hair/head? I am not against wearing a wig (especially the short/moderate length), but these overly long, elaborate, clumsy wigs just disgust and turns me off. Learn to hide or moderate what is too fake and too artificial |
k4kenny:Just hear yourself .....''.....they let this happen...." I never knew Israel erected a sign board or paced an advert that Hamas should come and murder 1,200 Israelis at a music concert Okay, they now want to ''let them eliminate those who did it''. Why are you crying now? Go watch your Aljazeera footages of October 7-15 and see what they were saying and doing before Israel responded. |
KarlTom:There is some inconsistency in the share redistribution exercise announcements by Oando. The earlier press release in February says 641,856,301 shares would be distributed for Tranche 1 This latest press release is saying 679,364,206 shares were distributed for Tranche 1 out of a total of 1,283,712,601. This means a balance of 604,348,395 for Tranche 2 |
SonofElElyonRet:Policeman catch wanderer! |
megawealth01:Wow! Congratulations and more fortunes to come your way. Just remember your small brother for one corner here. ![]() |
megawealth01:Haba! The billions wey you get never do you? ![]() Crypto enthusiast again? |
appleous:An article from Aljazeera? The same Aljazeera where they rejoiced and celebrated when Hamas attacked Israel on Oct 7 and killed more than 1,200 people including innocent immigrant Africans that were living/working on Israeli farms? You reasoning faculty needs to be examined |
appleous:Such a shallow and ignorant post. Did your so called book tell you that the Jews originated from Europe or from Israel? And where did you learn that Palestine has more Christians than Israel? Do you know the difference between ''relative'' and ''absolute'' numbers? You may go and drive away from the land the ''modern day'' Israel/Jews that you dislike and hate so much, and bring back the ''Biblical'' Israel/Jews that you know and love more than they know and love themselves. You just sit somewhere and pontificate on the identity and heritage of a tribe that you do not belong to. Absurdity! |
appleous:You may decide and edit the Bible if you choose to and put in it the difference between the ''Biblical'' and ''modern day'' Israel as you have discussed with God. If the countries surrounding Israel like Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria in the Bible are the same as the countries that we have today, I don't understand why some people would say that Israel in the Bible is not the same Israel today. Just telling lies because of the envy and hatred for Israel and the Jews. Go and support your holy people of Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran etc and let Israel be. And if you want to destroy the 'evil' you can go join the war |

BabsO2:Okay, I think there are two issues involved but we've mixed things up somehow: 1). Oando refunded money (equivalent $635m) to two shareholders, which reduced their equity balance, going into negative. 2). They received shares forfeited/returned by some related entities who could not settle their debt. in cash. The shares from (1) and/or (2) above are the ones being redistributed to existing shareholders now. |
GeeKudi:Actually, Wale mentioned that cash was paid to former shareholders, and this had been confirmed years ago at previous AGM and in press releases |
GeeKudi:The fact still remains that they could have sold the shares to some institutional investors (or Oando directors) instead of redistributing same to shareholders, especially at a time when the company needed the funds badly. |
KarlTom:Exactly! Most people are ignorant and don't appreciate how some of the negative balances in the accounts came about. Imagine Oando never had to refund $635m to the two shareholders! They would have needed less loans and saved billions in finance costs, and the value would have been much higher today. I am envisaging it will hit N100 after the capital raise and N150-N200 by 2027, God granting us life. |
BabsO2:He said above N50, and it will be in the next few months. I am suspecting it will not be less than N75 and done before year end. |
KarlTom:Again, he explained that Oando experienced negative equity balance because they had to refund to a former shareholder the equivalent of over $500m, otherwise there wouldn't have been negative shareholders fund. The shares returned (by the former shareholders) are the ones now being redistributed to exisitng shareholders. |
SonofElElyonRet:You need to buckle up (''se bi okunrin'') and make a dash into the ''igbo odaju'' called Oando. Nothing will touch you because thou are anointed to make huge gains! |
HesInMe:I did not mean that one should just buy any stocks or every stocks. You may decide not to invest in a particular stocks at some time. But do not mock or deride those who invest in it and never say that such stocks can not perform or yield good returns. The same stocks can experience a turnaround triggered by factors that you may not know. Financial statements are historical in nature and do not necessarily capture every futuristic or post balance sheet event. The stocks market sometimes ''behaves'' as if it has its own separate ''mind''. |
SonofElElyonRet:They intend converting some debt to equity this year and likely coming to raise more capital as well. Again, the current bull in the insurance sector may be having some effect. |
a |
GeeKudi:He said the price will be above N50. He also made some comments indicating that the capital raise would happen very soon, probably this year. |
megawealth01:Some of us on this platform seem to think that we know everything and all the factors that could possibly determine or influence the performance of stocks on the NGX. The truth is we don't. There are many factors, developments, happenings, projects, plans etc. that we may not know. So sometimes, we need to keep an open mind and never say never. There many examples of stocks that have defied the odds of negative bashing and history keeps repeating itself. I remember I listed out Honeywell and IBL when they were stagnant selling around N3-N4; and some people were mocking me saying I was promoting ''dead'' stocks. The so called ''dead'' stocks have yielded about 300% returns in less than a year. |
megawealth01:You mean DEAP CAPITAL? ![]() It seems to be on a silent cruise, my bro. |
dailybuzzng:I don't know why a university has not been established around Ikeja/Ketu/Ojota/Ojodu axis in Lagos That axis has huge potential market for a university to be established there, especially with workers from the State Secretariat and industries in the area. I am still surprised that no one has taken advantage of the opportunity in the area. May be they are waiting until a foreign university comes and establish there before people start to rush there. |
SonofElElyonRet:May be possible, I am not sure. But I am taking it as more of a short term than long term, unless something fantastic happens before I sell off. I want to mobilize some funds for a long term position in Unity Bank. |
Oasisblue:I don't recollect mentioning welfarist system of govt in my post. But even at that, what is evil or bad about operating a welfarist system? Which continent spends more on welfarist policies than Europe? Obama implemented welfarist policies in the US health sector. America subsidizes agricultural input for its farmers. Most European countries subsidize their transport systems, housing, provide unemployment allowances/benefits etc But the same people would come to Africa, demonize these things and discourage govts. of developing nations from implementing some of them for their people. When the capitalism of the West failed woefully leading to the global financial crises, the world had to rely on 'welfarist'' countries like China, Russia etc. to provide some resilience that engendered some recovery. Obama had to use state funds to bail out companies that had collapsed as result of the failures of capitalism. Why didn't he allow the companies to collapse and die just because the US did not believe in welfarist policy? Venezuela is having problems, yes! Just like other capitalist countries like Greece and Portugal who had problems and were assisted by the EU, IMF etc. In fact Greece's problem was as bad as that of Venezuela, but the US has always been interested in collapsing the govt of Venezuela because of their anti-US policies. Why didn't you mention China which is doing well? There is nothing bad in a welfarist system if well thought out and properly implemented. |
Zagee:Lol! You wan put me for trouble! ![]() Whatever you feel or think about portfolio na audio ooooo |
Zagee:The main goal and objectives of a govt. is to improve the welfare, security and wellbeing of the people, especially the majority. Such goal is not to carryout or embark on the so called ''reforms''(sic) Any kind of ''reforms'' or ''initiatives'' that fail to achieve these goals are virtually meaningless or poorly thought-through or outright useless We have been witnessing ''reforms'' and ''reforms'' since when IBB introduced SAP (and even before then), what is the benefit? |
SonofElElyonRet:Abeg ooo Comment withdrawn and unreserved apology tendered. I think Deap is completing the conversion of their debt to equity very soon, and that would eliminate their finance costs. The deferred income of N1.5b may likely hit their income statement and shoot up their profit this year |
megawealth01:It may not be a deliberate act of wickedness. Maybe she forgot, or maybe the intensity and barrage of controversies about Oando at that time, and how some of us approached the issue made her feel shy or reluctant to reveal her change of opinion, so that she would not be taunted/tagged again! |
yMcy56:I try to ignore most posts that do not align with my purpose of me being on this forum. Virtually most stocks have been bad-mouthed by some people on this forum at one time or other, so the cycle would never end if we should be tagging/taunting people with the performance of various stocks. And let us remember that a person who condemned a stocks may actually go behind and buy huge volumes (larger than yours) of the same stocks. Hence, while we are taunting him (and feeling vindicated), he may be making more profits than us on the same stocks. On a lighter note, for example, @Bovali gave a professional, in-depth analysis of why Oando was not a good buy. But she went back and made a huge kill from the same stocks without anyone of us knowing until she revealed her profits. |
