Krismas:Do you know the meaning of decimating? Count the casualties and losses between Israel and Iran first, then you can make better sense |
Firstcitizen:Go count the number of Iran-supplied missiles, rockets and weapons that Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthi and Syria have used to attack Israel. Then we can discuss who started the war! The war just started let is run for another 2 weeks then we shall see where power lies! The only thing terrorists respect is superior fire/terror |
Firstcitizen:Dey play dey deceive yourself. Where were you when Iran attacked Israel with more than 300 missiles last year? Israel is facing its darkest days means they had hardly been attacked like this before now, but that does not mean that Iran is getting the upper hand. How many military generals or installation in Israel have been killed or destroyed by Iran? Iran is only firing at Israel's civilian population, that is why Israel has now attacked their TV station |
cute commend:How busy and engaged were you at that time? Were you also doing two jobs and schooling at the same time? For a lady doing two jobs and schooling, it would be a tough task to be able to take perfect care of the domestic front, unless she hires someone. Such a hard working lady should be encouraged and assisted. There is no one in her shoes that would not struggle one way or the other! The ones that are bad are the lazy ones who do nothing and still fail to take care of themselves |
Bigmouth3:God bless you my brother! Some Nigerians just don't understand that it is derogatory, disgusting, disrespectful and reckless to describe another sovereign country as ''ordinary''. Even when your country is worse off or not better than the country that is being referred to as ''ordinary'' |
OLAADEGBU:Lol! ![]() This is funny if true. So now, they know Iran cannot withstand Israel, so they have to come and support them to fight Israel?. Where was Pakistan when Iran was sponsoring terrorists with funds and weapons to attack and destroy Israel? Israel has not said anywhere that they would use nukes on Iran. Israel says they will destroy Iran even without using nuclear weapons! That is the bottom line. No need for anybody to bring in other things that Israel has not said. Let Iran prove themselves against Israel. To make mouth is not the same as to get strength. |
Mankind2024:Oil prices will be relatively high for most part of 2025, until the crises in the middle east are resolved. |
UnknownQueen:Are you confusing ''army'' with ''military''? The strength of a military is made up the army, air-force, navy, warfare technology and intelligence! Israel is far ahead of Iran in all the last last four areas. Iran's army's strength is only because of their large numbers. |
SonofElElyonRet:Very good, professional advice! Personally, I cannot invest in Crypto or Bitcoin until I see or understand the fundamentals of what or which company is behind the crypto and the remedial safeguards available if the coin should crash and fail. |
TimeManager:It is all lies and lies! Just to cover up the incompetence and corruption of this clueless government. |
Osanoghodua1:Where have you been? Abi you no dey read? Israel bombed military installations and targets in the whole of Iran (including Tehran) with missiles fired from Israeli war planes. Over 200 Israeli war planes were deployed in the operation and they all returned safely. No single casualty. Iran is now sending missiles to civilian locations in Israel. |
BodePolScience:It is Israel that has been bombing and destroying Iran's nuclear programmes. They did it in the past, many years ago. This one in 2025 is not the first time Israel has bombed and destroyed Iran's nuclear installations. |
Akalia:Do you understand what guerilla warfare really means? How can you talk about guerilla warfare between Israel and Iran when they don't share borders on land? The war will be fought and won in the air by the military with the stronger air force, air power and air defence systems. You don't seem to know the warfare technology that Israel has amassed and the support from US. Iran cannot stand Israel if this war should drag on. |
Payunsin:Lol. Lets hope things don't go southward too soon. Dont be too carried away. sha. Things do happen in this market. |
EDUECO:Lol. Funny guy! You don't want the history when Oando hit N300 to repeat itself! Abi? Na the N2 you want to happen! |
EDUECO:Lol! These your comments are just too simplistic! What is Seplat doing? What is the cost structure of Oando vs Seplat and what factors are responsible? Are they drilling in the same oil well or terrain? Are they controlling the same volume of reserves and production? Do they have the same legacy issues e.g. staff gratuity severance package e.g. Oando inherited Unipetrol with some staff working since the 1990s. Seplat was incorporated in 2009, just about 15 years ago. Seplat came with Eurodollar. Oando was dealing in the naira-based downstream sector and had to transition into the dollar-based upstream sector, then the naira was devalued! etc etc. |
EDUECO:Thanks my bro. I understand your point that one needs to be careful not to lose money. Some of us were just a bit lucky with Oando because I bought it around N5-N6 per share and I have been waiting to qualify for the 2nd share redistribution which is due on 30 June. After that, we see what next. |
EDUECO:Fair comment; that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Some of us are only following the money! |
EDUECO:Lol! it is easier said than done! To me, SEPLAT is more of a UK upstream company, listed in Nigeria. Oando are already operating as an upstream company!. What remains now is for them to tidy up their loan indebtedness e.g. by raising more equity or strategic partnership. How many indigenous, Nigerian upstream companies do you have in the country with a population of 200m+ pople? We only had the multinationals like Shell, Total, Mobil ENI, Chevron, Addax etc. until a few years ago. That should tell you something. |
shrinkchido:So this is what the FCT minister and the president are celebrating? Mediocrity |
EDUECO:You may be right in some of your opinions, but First Banks has had a history of very poor dividend payout, long before Otedola bought into it. Check the history. Oando has a difficult time transiting from a downstream to an upstream company, which is extremely capital intensive and quite different from importing and selling refined products through filling stations. Oando as a downstream company was paying dividends of N2, N3, N4 per share consistently around 2001-2011 until when they decided to go upstream with the acquisition of ConocoPhilips and things became tight and crude oil fell drastically. You can check their dividend history |
Puntingnoob:Apply to OAU. In our days, you could study law with pure Science background in WAEC/GCE. So many graduates of law from OAU got admission with Science background e.g. the Late Bamidele Aturu who studied Physics. Just go through the JAMB UTME prospectus and see if the requirements remain the same |
HesInMe:It is all part of the assessment of credit worthiness. It is the assets you have and what you can produce that will fill the vaults. The oil wells in Nigeria and Angola are more than enough to produce and fill the vaults but it will take some time. If Oando should be liquidated today and the assets are sold to settle all debts, the net worth of it's assets cannot be less than N500 per share. So it's intrinsic value is way above the current price. |
HesInMe:Your concerns may be valid but did you also consider some of the progress recorded so far? Did you read the part that says Oando has successfully settled USD425m out of the USD525m loan that they obtained in 2019? The bigget debt that Oando owes now are Reserve Based Loans (RBL) and Customer Financed Facility i.e. they have to sell crude oil to their creditor customer to finance and offset the facility. Hence, a huge chunk of their loan liability will be offset by direct sale to the relevant counteroarty. What they need now is enough liquidity to finance working capital and routine operations. It was reported this week that they just got another USD375m RBL from Afreximbank, the same bank that financed the acquisition of ENI/AGIP assets. A huge bank like Afreximbank would not just give out loans to a company if they do not see it as a viable business. It is also mentioned in the AFS that the board has approved an extraordinary AGM so the company can consider how to address the debt situation in compliance with some sections of CAMA. The directors have Aldo indicated willingness to injectote funds etc. |
Kemetian:Let us learn to appreciate and respect every country! India is a developing country, just like many African countries. They have very high levels of poverty, inequality, unemployment etc. The reason why they are hyped is because of what they have been able to achieve in terms of IT, Medicine, Auto engineering etc. Some of the best authors of professional textbooks in Business, IT etc. are Indians e.g. Pandey, Gupta etc. A lot of Nigerian and African lives have been saved in Indian hospitals. Recently, India successfully launched their space aircraft which cost them roughly 10% of what US spent on similar space craft. They also have one of largest population in the world, the same way Nigeria itself is hyped for being the most populous black nation. If not for the population size, Nigeria too may not enjoy some of the fantasy hypes. |
megawealth01:Prophetutuocha gave the hint, but was not taken too seriously, as usual. Yet he keeps getting it right with Oando. My problem with him is that most times he speaks in too much parables and leaves one confused |
Islie:Nonsense! How would the useless govt ease a problem that they had always denied? |
Mpeace:Okay, that is interesting. Oga Adenuga does not want to share the dollar profits with guys! Thanks for letting me know. |
megawealth01:Okay, that is interesting. Thanks for letting me know |
KarlTom:Conoil at N268! By the way, Conoil operates in both downstream and upstream sectors, so it can even go higher. |
cocolacec:Even this year alone, Honeywell flour mills has moved from around or below N5 to N22. |
peleson1:This is the basic, key thing that you must do: get interested in the affairs and performance of companies listed in the stocks market e.g. financial accounts, newspaper, TV reports etc. This is important if you want to do well with your investments. I have not tested the new online procedures, but these are the old-fashioned, manual procedures years back: 1. Open a stock-broking account with a reputable, licensed stock-broking firm. The account will be used by the firm to trade on your behalf. All your deposits and trades will be posted into that account. 2. The stock broking firm will also facilitate the opening of a unique CSCS online account for you, with username and password which the CSCS will send to you directly. You can use this CSCS account to monitor your trades and portfolio. Some stock brokers have real-time trading platforms that you can use to monitor your trades and portfolio as well. 3. The stock market is a long term project and requires great patience and monitoring of your investments. It is not ''cash-and-carry'' or ''kalo-kalo''. It is not like ''Baba Ijebu''. 5. Join a platform, e.g. this NSEMPA platform where you can read good and useful discussions about various companies on the NGX 4. Start with some small amount of money that you can afford to set aside for a very long time, or even lose in the worst case scenario. 5.Some companies, especially the banks, pay regular dividends. You may start from the banks to understand and feel how the dividend works out, or any other companies of your choice. 6. You can then increase your investments as time goes on and you understand the antics of the market. |
