The fundamentals of a crypto asset include utility, adoption, revenue/fees, tokenomics, supply/unlocks, developer activity, security, competitive advantage and valuation.

For a 700,000–1.4 million bpd refinery IPO, the key fundamentals are capacity utilisation, crude supply, crude costs, refining margins, product yields, operating costs and market demand.

You also need to examine debt, capital expenditure, cash flow, export economics and the company's ability to consistently convert refinery operations into profit and free cash flow.

Most importantly, large capacity does not automatically mean large profits; sustainable margins and high utilisation are what matter.

For the IPO, the final question is: How much sustainable cash flow can the refinery generate and is the IPO valuation reasonable relative to those future earnings and cash flows?

If you understand Crypto, you will understand IPOs.... Just that The IPO market in Nigeria is OVER REGULATED hence it is stiffled. First of all, IPOs are just institutionalised Crypto. Its about hype before its about utility. How many people who are subscribed to the IPO care about the Refinery as they care about their money doubling? I showed you how media impacts price in Crypto. Someone talked down on Transhuman Coin and boom, the price went up. Negative comment targeted at me but it led to positive movements in the charts. You saw it. Why? Hype. As long as people are TALKING about it, traders will hear and trade the asset. That's why Dangote hyped the IPO - I was told that Billions of Naira were invested in only MEDIA. Remember that Dangote's multiBillion PR Deal with CNN hit the news first before the IPO.

But some of you look down on Crypto but value IPOs... I laugh 😃. Na the same thing. Just that one is regulated and the other is an open market.

For people like me, we know how to play in both markets - we build in both the centralised and decentralised markets.

My advice is, if possible, visit your stockbroker / Issuing House and do the IPO online application in their office or call them so they could guide you and avoid issues or errors.
This is the first time an IPO is being done online and there could be challlenges or errors that could prove very costly at the end of the exercise.
And always make sure you print and keep a copy of your application form and means of payment

When I said too big, I do not reference only land mass and population. The diversity in our population has proven more problematic than being resourceful. For instance, it is laudable to utilize public funds for religious propagation in some homogeneous communities whereas some others would rather spend on education. And then Abuja comes up with NECO and JAMB to level everybody up educationally regardless of the choices at the grassroots. You check the profiles of some professors in some parts of the country and you would see that such profiles would struggle to be ranked as senior lecturers in other universities in the same country.

I hear people say there is beauty in diversity but as far as Nigeria is concerned, our own diversity is a mess.

You are right to a large extent.
But I think another problem is that, at independence, we did not have a single, unifying national leader or founder of the nation s e.g. like Mandela, Sekou Toure, Julius Nyerere, Kenneth Kaunda, Kwame Nkrumah etc.
There was little or no nationalistic consciousness
So we got independence without a nationalistic direction, philosophy etc. And it is affecting us up to date.

Jakande was even the first to introduce and implement the Lagos public transport system (LSTC). He brought the idea of metro line and light rail system.
The Jakande schools that you described as ''pig barns'' have produced thousands and millions of professors, professionals, medical doctors, lawyers and other successful people who otherwise would not have been able to have formal education in life.
How did Jakande perform poorly in security at a time when people could even afford to sleep outside in front of their houses whenever there was too much heat?
And what about the hospitals built by Jakande?
What about the roads?
What about the housing estates?
The polytechnics and University?

You cannot have a ''modern state'' without these things. Jakande did most of them, and they were affordable for the people to acquire.

Mentioning the clearing of Oshodi as a "development achievement" is funny.
Lekki free trade zone would not have been if the Lekki Epe axis was not opened up via the road connection that attracted economic activity to that area.
Only those who did not know Jakande and Mobolaji Johnson can say Tinubu developed Lagos.

YORUBAS PROTECTED TINUBU, but Igboman stripped his brother naked before the village Square, and sat him on the mud, all in the name of "setting the facts straight".

Yorubas had the opportunity of doing similar thing to Tinubu, but they didn't.

During the last election, Tinubu ran on the statement which I consider an "ABSOLUTE FALSEHOOD" that Tinubu developed Lagos; or that he developed the blueprints for Lagos. The Yorubas knew and perhaps , still know, that it was false, but "THEY KEPT QUIET".

The Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, did not think it wise to step forward to debunk that falsehood. Instead, they all rallied round him, lifted his hands in support and shielded him from opprobrium.

But here, we have Peter Obi's brothers, raving wild "setting the records straight" against Peter Obi, even making up ballooned figures in the process. One keeps asking who they are trying so hard to please. Why do they seem happy to see their brother down?

But the real truth is that Tinubu never, I mean NEVER developed even 7% of Lagos. He couldn't have. I have written about this before, so I won't dwell fixated on it. Tinubu's achievements as Governor of Lagos, is absolutely insignificant and utterly negligible when it comes to making Lagos what it is.

Lagos was already fully developed before Tinubu ruled it for ONLY 8yrs. Lagos became the capital of Nigeria as far back as 1914 and it remained so up till 1991, which is a resounding period of 77yrs. The federal government developed Lagos, and they did so with funds drawn directly from the Federation account, just as they are doing for Abuja today.

77 years is not 7 years.

Lagos had been capital of Nigeria for 38yrs before Tinubu was conceived in the womb in 1954 as he claimed. By the time Tinubu became the Governor of Lagos in 1999, which is just yesterday, every major development have already taken place in Lagos.

All the tall buildings were already there. Every bank already had their headquarters in Lagos. The City was already buzzy and booming. All Federal Corporations were already there. Lagos seaport was already there. Lagos airport was already there. Lagos crowd was already there. Everything was already there, including the teaming crowd.

So, it was a nonsensical show of mendacity to say that Tinubu "developed the blueprints" for Lagos. That's an unforgivable insult to Nigerians as a collective because it means all the money pumped into developing Lagos by the Federal government, with were realised from every region of this country, was a total waste of time.

If we MISTAKENLY accept the falsehood that Tinubu developed Lagos, that means Nyesom Wike can, tomorrow, claim to develop Abuja.

Nobody came out from Lagos to disprove or "set the records straight" about developing Lagos.

But Soludo, the overzealous Igbo man from the same Anambra state as Peter Obi, is raving wild "setting the records straight" about Peter Obi's records with Anambra State. Even his commissioner for information, Dr. Law Mefor, was on AriseTv, shamelessly disgracing himself.

Questions keep popping up; to what end?

Dr. Alex Oti is an Igbo politician from Abia State. He understands the politics of watching your brother's back. And that's why, in the midst of this controversy about monies Peter Obi left behind, he came out to defend Peter Obi's records. Ordinarily, it shouldn't concern him as he is from Abia State. But he did what he did in the spirit of brotherliness.

I am grossly ashamed for Soludo. And I ask; why can't he support his own brother? I just hope he is receiving the "love" and "affection" of the West which he dearly craves. But he should never think of himself as a hero. Nobody becomes a hero by slaying his brother.

Anyone that claims that Tinubu was the one that developed Lagos must be either drunk, ignorant, crazy, a paid propagandist or a myopic slowpoke.
FG did most of the investments in infrastructure in Lagos.
But for State governors, Mobolaji Jonhnson and Lateef Jakande are the brains behind the develoment of Lagos. They built virtually all the infrastructure that Lagos state is relying on today.

There is the prospect, the hype and the ignorance (or lack of understanding)
We should be able to independently appreciate the prospects of the refinery (especially if expanded to 1.4m barrels), and separate it from the hype or marketing of the IPO and the ignorance of other people talking about it.
