The "dilutive" i am refering to has nothing to do with free - float but its effect on the valuation metric os the shares going forward. I am really getting tired of how you take EVERYTHING PERSONAL! C'mon! There may be various opinions on an issue. In your case, once someone has a different opinion, you take it personal and start saying the person is DEFENDING! Defending who, for what? All you needed to say is that you are referring to a different thing, simple.! Why bring in ''defending''? |

robobo: hmmmmmmmmmmm.
I thougt it will come after the RI has been concluded.
if it comes now it will be very dilutive, thereby limiting the upside when the cleaning of books is done The RI is technically done with, as the qualifying date was fixed as 13th Feb. Wale and his men would take up any outstanding Rights units. Institutional investors and directors are the ones to get shares from a successful debt-equity conversion, so those shares would likely not be part of free float in the market |

emmanuelewumi: If you sell 30,000 units of Presco shares and 177,000 units of Nahco shares at their current price, one will raise about N100 million.
Based on the volumes of both shares they can't pay more than a combined dividend of N4 million.
If that same N100 million was invested in FGN bond one will get over N16 million per annum at N8 million every 6 months.
Planning to trim down my Presco and Nahco shares when Q1 2026 results are out and diversify into FGN bond This is what happens when some stocks prices rise high and you compare the dividend yield, it makes better sense to sell and invest in FG bonds or Tbills with higher rewards. Even GT and Zenith are not doing more than 10% dividend yield at current prices. This is partly why some investors focus only on low-cap, growth stocks with relatively high yield. But capital appreciation is what may compensate for the low dividend yield |

I recall when WAPCO was struggling and restructuring; selling below N20. Today, it is almost N300 and seen as going after BUACEMENT Soon, similar comparisons could be made for Oando and Seplat/Aradel as well. Restless Oandoites just need to ''f'okan ba'le'' |

Maybe that is the case cos of the market is relatively illiquid

RodgersAkpafu: The reality is... equity investments are risky equity investments in emerging and frontier markets, even riskier
So if you want a high risk adjusted returns. you have to deal with the risk Dealing with the risk in equity investments is the reason why there is a +/-10% limit on daily movement in price. It is a way to reduce volatility (risk). |

RodgersAkpafu: This is exactly why the Nigerian market wont grow or become more efficient
Sometimes its okay for companies to face the brunt of their actions Which companies to face the brunt of their action? You and I, the shareholders, are the ''companies''. The so-called ''brunt of their action'' is the fate of shareholders. Imagine how you (shareholders) would feel if your shares worth N10billion suddenly drops to N1m overnight? Would you be happy or develop BP overnight? That is what is killing people in crypto! |
