The US could afford to blow up two of its own warplanes in order to rescue it's soldiers.

Iran has managed to be operational because US did not allow Israel to destroy all the economic lifeline of Iran i.i.e. theoul and fas infrastructure be ayse it would lead to higher petrol prices which US is trying to avoid, hoping that Iran would see reason to negotiate. But Iran wants to pretend it xan go on with the war because they want to show that they are strong.
Israel could have brought Irn to it's knees if US had not prevented strikes on key oil installations at the beginning of the war.

LAGOS ANNOUNCES ROAD CLOSURES FOR FANTI CARNIVAL

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has announced the temporary closure of some roads ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled for Monday, 6th April 2026.

The affected roads to be cordoned off include:

• King George V Road at the junction by Mobil Filling Station

• Onikan Roundabout, inbound to TBS

• Flagstaff House, inbound to TBS

• Outer Marina by State House, inbound to TBS

• Campbell Street by the Old Defence Building

• Catholic Mission Street by St. Nicholas Hospital.

All road closures will commence from 7:00 a.m.

Motorists and residents are advised to plan their movements accordingly and use alternative routes during this period.

According to Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), alternative routes are:

Vehicles coming from Obalende, descending towards Onikan Roundabout, will be directed towards Zone 2.

Vehicles coming from Bonny Camp towards McEwen Bridge, as well as those descending from Flagstaff House towards TBS, will be diverted towards Obalende Bridge.

Vehicles coming from Outer Marina towards TBS will also be diverted towards Obalende Bridge.

The State Government regrets any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the cooperation of the public.

The State that the president comes from is holding a festival in the midst of terror attacks, deaths, bloodshed, pain and agony in Plateau and other parts of the country.

Alhaji's refinery is midstream/downstream (not upstream like Seplat, Oando and Aradel).
If FG does not sabotage it with the naira for crude, supply shortage and refined products imports, it could probably outstrip the upstream companies because it enjoys some unique monopoly advantage. But the IPO price may affect how much of it investors could buy and benefit going forward.

How has US ''lost'' the war?
The US is trying to avoid bombing and destroying everything in Iran, because it would affect the innocent civilians (who even protested against the Ayatollah regime), and also affect the global oil prices. If not for US restraint, Israel would have destroyed all the oil, power, water, and other economic infrastructure in Iran.
The problem that US has is Donald Trump himself, because he talks too much and is inconsistent and unstable. Some of the things he says are totally unnecessary and unpresidential, and that is what Iran is taking advantage of

To me, the potential is second only to SEPLAT. If they can tidy up the accounts and are able to attract enough capital to clear the debts, Oando can easily clock N200 and even N500+ in few more years. The power plant itself can be ramped up to full capacity to create more value and money for investors

I am no advocate to no one. I am only expressing an opinion on what I think is realistically possible within a time frame of less than 18months.
According to experts it takes an average of about 30-36months to build a power plant of 350-400mw, assuming power generation is the core and sole focus of the company.
But we all know Oando is primarily an Oil producing company so their focus would most likely be first and foremost, to increase the production of oil from assets acquired from NAOC, Angola etc, then ramp up in other areas afterwards. So comparing it to another company iwhose core business is power generation is misplaced. And 18 months is not a realistic time line to jump from 350mw to 900mw! That is my point. And the figures are inaccurate.
When we discuss issues we should try and do so from a broad perspective based on facts and be willing to listen to contrary opinions.
We all want to make money from our investments in these companies

Transcorp Power transaction took place several years before now.

It is good to push Oando to do it, but I am not sure such was feasible in 12-18months considering the fact that it Is part of a larger set of assets acquired from NAOC

Oando has not fully utilised the full 960MW capacity of Kwale-Okpai Power Plant but is going after / procuring another 60 MW turbine.

Bunch of unserious people. if they are serious, by now the utilisation of Kwale-Okpai Power Plant should have moved from the about 300-350 they took over from NAOC to its full capacity of 960 mw. Also talk should have been in place to spin it off as an entity standing alone on NGX thereby maximising its value and releasing some cashflow for Oando itself but i guess that is not immediately gratifying like the 60mw.

If NAOC operated the power plants for several years and handed it over to Oando at only 300-350mw in Aug/Sep 2024, how do you expect Oando to move and almost triple the capacity to 960mw just after about 12-18months?

If history is to repeat, then Unity Bank shareholders will likey be paid in cash. Shareholders of the savings and loans companies, including Spring Mortgage, that were acquired or merged with United Mortgage before it transmuted to Providus Bank were all paid cash for their shares. If Providus owner does a share exchange then his shareholder base will balloon beyond 50 shareholders and he will be forced to converr to a Plc by law. I doubt he want to run a Plc for now.
It will be interesting to see their rights issue circular. It should throw some light but in absence of that I tend to believe he will pay off the shareholders in cash. It's the cheaper option for him in the long run.
