Oga Mike stop making excuse for him. the main problem is someone believing he is the smartest person in the room and pure ego. Even if he is not upstream experienced as at then he has considerable experience in midstream which though might not be equivalent to upstream but could still the called upon and networked to get requisite knowledge. So what about after more than 10 years post conoco, has anything been different??
I also need my dividends and capital appreciation from my shares.
I am only saying the obvious from what I read about how he ventured into oil and gas, but that is not to excuse his responsibility.
Going into a business (with people's money) without the requisite knowledge and experience is even reckless on his part and cannot be forgiven! So no excuses.

However, a single misfortune or wrong move in a highly capital-intensive, risk-laden but lucrative sector like oil and gas, may take several years to recover or even lead to total collapse of a company. e.g. NestOil.
But Wale still has to carry the responsibility to turn things around, very quickly.

If not Wale all these years, Oando would be competing with ARADEL in price
I think Wale and his team went into upstream business (from downstream filling stations) with little or no experience whatsoever in the sector!
Probably the reason they bought Conoco Phillips at an overvalued price, among other issues.
The inexperience is the biggest challenge and undoing.
It could have been different if he had worked in the upstream sector e.g. in a global oil company like Shell, Chevron etc. before acquiring Unipetrol/Oando or if he had gone into partnership with experienced professionals in the upstream sector.

CelebritiesRe: The Problem With P-Square by mikeapollo: 12:21pm On Apr 23
Dagah2:
This read is but an Opinion.
Since issues between the PSquare brothers popped up to the public eye, a lot has been insinuated by the public. Some said it was with one of the Okoye's wife, others greed etc. However, I have always backed my opinion with facts that Peter better known as Mr. P is the issue. His person actually is.

1. FALLOUT WITH GLO
Long before their fallout, the 2 brothers were co-signed Glo ambassadors. In the long run, Peter established his Dance With Peter show under Glo, but that was not the catch. His twin brother supported and showed up for him. How did it end? Mr.P had a fallout with Glo over the same show. Broke off and ended things. Who still hears of Dance With Peter?

2. SOLO CAREER
Mr.P was the first to launch a solo career, releasing singles and coming online to rant. He had a few songs then he felt would blow him up not knowing it doesn't work that way. He even released his album with the name "The Prodigal" . It took his brother almost 2 years to launch his own solo career. This was even as his brother had records of releasing his solo songs in PSquare name before then just so peace could reign. We can be the judge who has made more impact individually between the 2.

3. DEADLOCK AMBITIOUS ADVENTURES
From running out to launch his Zoom bet, zoom bids and zip cloth lines, it has always been ambitions without direction from Mr.Peter. One would wonder why this is part of my points, the hidden fact is in the group sifting his ideas then: his songs, ideas and ambitions posed directionless. Little wonder why he complained of being sidelined. Can we see the uselessness of these ideas and how it would have belittled the name "PSquare". He is about releasing an album of remix to PSquare songs. Such mess can only come from a greedy and selfish.

4. WICKED CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
Between the 2 brothers, Mr.P keeps friends that rightly would be called enemies. Don Flex in particular seems to be enjoying, benefitting and courting the disunity between the 2 brothers. Always appearing, dancing and cheering the self acclaimed prodigal son up. If this Don flex and other circle of wicked friends cannot advise Mr. P or cutting ties in public with him, they need be called out. Imagine keeping friends with an almost 50yrs old man changing his birthday to spite his twin brother. Either they are asslickers or mentally unstable themselves!

5. GREED
It is proven that the greedy one between the 2 is Mr.P. Despite an equal share while contributing less, he feels cheated. From saying they don't regard him to accusing his brothers of stealing from him, excuses upon another has been his trademark.

CONCLUSION
Mr. P should call himself to a meeting. He should advise himself, blackmailing your brothers and all the stunts to pull a Tuface will not and can never work for him. He should do his solo career and stop destroying the peace and legacies of the PSquare brand lest his tomorrow judge him in an unfair way.
Very senseless talk!
Grandstanding in a matter that does not concern you. A paid rabble rouser?
Do you know where it pinches more than he who wears the shoe?
All what is mentioned above is no reason why the brothers should have treated him the way they did. Initially, they fought him because he dared married a Yoruba lady, who incidentally helped the twins' music career when they were struggling and had nothing!

If you remove solar in any country, their power supply would become like Nigeria's
The bottom line is that the public power system provides enough, constant power for the citizens in developed countries! That is what matters.
But we don't have the same thing in Nigeria. So citizens have to use other sources like solar, generator etc to have electricity, and a very useless govt wants to tax people for that again? In other words, the govt prefers that the people live in darkness and power outage and do nothing about it.
PropertiesRe: Lagos Confirms Solar Permit Fees In Viral Video, Makes Clarifications by mikeapollo: 8:59am On Apr 23
lawani:
So something that is standard practice all over the world should not be done in Lagos or Nigeria? But that is like saying this is the only way but you must not use it!
Very shallow, myopic talk.
Is power outage and darkness also a standard practice all over the world?
When you talk, put things in proper context and perspective.
Installing solar panels has almost become a necessity in Nigeria because the public power supply is virtually dead.
But in developed countries and others, the public power supply is mostly constant and uninterrupted. So the govts tax those who install solar panels in order discourage or limit its use and people to switch and use the public power supply, which helps to generate revenue to the govt. for maintenance of the infrastructure.

Where ?

In Israel?

Jews are the most populous in Israel, followed my Muslims, then Christians

Religious Demographics in Israel:

Jewish: Approximately 73.5% – 74.3%

Muslim: Approximately 18% – 18.1%

Christian: Approximately 1.9% – 2%

Druze: Approximately 1.6%

Other/Unclassified: Approximately 4.8% – 5%
Ironically, the Christians in Judea and Samaria (aka West Bank) were 80% when Israel was directly administering the place. Today, Christians are less than 20% when the placed is being administered by the so-called 'Palestinians''. They are systematically destroying the biblical landmarks and sites because they know those are evidence that the land belonged to the Jews.

From the look of things, it seems this kind of Bull 🐂 period comes once in a long year, maybe certain decade(s) or so, it's looking more like a Cycle....

Guess there's nothing anyone or any negative news can do about it.

It's just my opinion o....because it's difficult to explain what's up...😊

I could remember a period where getting just +10% or 20% on a stock was a Herculean task, the stocks will just not move no matter the good news....

So I think it's just the period too...because how stocks are easily doing 100%, 200%, 500% is beyond explanations........IMO 😊
It is partly due to assets repricing, currency value adjust, inflationary issues, capital raise by banks/insurers etc.
For instance, one GT bank share of N50 in 2022 is considered higher in ''value'' than the same N50 in 2026, hence the price in 2026 would go up to compensate for the ''loss of value''.

forget Politics for now
Thanks for the advice. Well appreciated. I dont intend dragging the topic.
But let's understand that political decisions can also make or mar the stock market, so the market is not totally insulated from politics.
Some markets could have reacted negatively to news of the sack of the Finance minister, a person that helped to calm nerves and stabilized the market when the CGT issue was raging and the market went down, and he is now replaced with the person that caused the panicky sell-offs.

Case closed! No more!

Foreign AffairsRe: Can The US Actually Pay Off It's Debts? by mikeapollo: 10:21am On Apr 21
lawani:
Can the US actually pay off it's debts?

The US GDP is over 30 trillion dollars and some countries have a tax to GDP ratio of up to 45 percent. It means the US can even do more if they want to. The US can have an annual revenue of up to 12 trillion dollars and have a plan to pay off the debts totally in less than twenty years while having universal healthcare. The total debt is now around 39 trillion dollars with over 70 percent owed to local people and institutions.

The debt can certainly be paid by the USA but all sovereign debts should be added up and taken over by the United Nations after all economies have been restructured and the debts revalued. If all countries have the same cost of living then dollar debts will go down to not more than three to five percent of the current nominal value, prices of things will come down, farming will become far more profitable and a new United Nations will be able to pay the sovereign debts quite easily.
Yes, the US can easily pay off its debts
Reason: the debts are denominated and accounted for in US dollars, which is the currency of the US. So the US can literally print the dollars to pay off its debts.
The worst possible implication would be inflation, which is why they may choose not to do so

VFD has similar issue with Access Bank. Too many acquisitions without efficient delivery of benefits to shareholders.
It is too early to say Access has done too many acquisitions without efficient delivery of benefits to customers. Wait until they conclude and reflect full results of the new acquisitions.
Few years ago, First Bank was stagnating around N4-N5 for almost 2 years without good dividends when they were undergoing restructuring. Wema Bank was less than N1 for some years. Both have now delivered more than 500% since then.
Access will click N40-N50 and above when they finalize everythin, very soon
