agaugust: Nigeria soldiers are sharp shooters with many years of combat experience, and our combat doctrine believes every bullet is fired to count, so our 150 bullets can 150 people if we put it in each enemy's head.

SANDF is carryoung 1890 bullets because your ZERO experienced soldiers will waste a lot of bullets before they can k.ill one enemy due to poor marksmanship.

Nigerian soldiers have a machine gun for every 4 soldiers, we don't depend on rifle alone, and you cannot count our machine gun bullets, plus extra loads inside our vehicles !

Start counting those Naija bullets for me now, oya, 1,2,3, 4....5,000....6,000...
.
1. They aren't well trained, your marksmanship claim invalid. 2. That's machine gun and it is belt fed used a SAW. 3. Your troops carry their 150 bullets and don't have vehicles? What vehicles are you talking about?

agaugust: What is the maximum effective firing range of SANDF Y3 AGL ?

Simple question.
Not even close. Range is dependent of ammunition type. Augubugubu is angry that Mike..ZA won't slip into his ambush tactics.

agaugust: Nigerian army does not use that home made fake shilka, ours is exactly like the Russians shilka.

Oh, when last did you see those shiny Boko Mowag and Cobra ? Well it's not a Mowag, its likely a Sudanese Mongoose APC.

Boko was robbed of all his shiny armored vehicles by NAF Alpha and F-7 jets, poor Shekau now drives around a blacksmith fabricated shilka fake copy cheesy cheesy

I still see South African air force has not been able to use Gripen jet laser weapons and targeting pods to rob Seleka of your Gecko mortar carriers, the Sele koko boys still drive it to market to go buy Cigarettes.

SAAF Gripen jets are still bombing open bush and stones in THIZA's photos, there are Geckos in Bangui, they won't go bomb live target, they prefer to bomb sand and trees at home .

No wonder SAMDF are getting retrenched by frustrated ANC government cheesy cheesy
.
BH has an manufacturing plant? grin grin cheesy shocked shocked shocked shocked They captured it from your army. SAAF has used smart bombs before, that's not a problem. So BH drives or flies APCs from Sudan to Nigeria? LOOOOOOOL cheesy cheesy cheesy

I personally avoid long comments on this thread because it is a photo thread, but I CANNOT overlook this so that somebody somewhere will not confuse Nigerians about the weapons we need in Boko Haram war and why we need them in large numbers.

ALL your arguments about Automatic Grenade Launchers and radio are very wrong in modern warfare, the British army learnt this lesson in Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Correct your errors please.

Every Boko Haram or ISIS terrorist Platoon of 4 vehicles on attack mission have a 14.5mm or 23mm long range infantry weapon with 3km effective range.

How will a platoon of Nigeria army defend itself from the above with Browning gun 1.5km effective range?

COIN war is a game of infantry firpower and need to survive when insurgents suddenly appear from among civilians and heavily outnumber an army platoon, the only mass k.iller weapon option for the army is a 2km range Automatic Grenade Launcher that can k.ill or injure 5 enemies at a time or knock out enemy Toyota 4x4 AAA gun truck with one direct shot on target.

Also, AGL is a secondary role 40mm mortar weapon for area denial or area firepower against a spread out enemy that outnumbers the army.

COIN war is NOT same as conventional war, experience has taught Nigeria big lessons, every 12 soldiers need a MGL, every 40 soldiers need an AGL, or else surprise swarms of Boko Haram Toyota Technicals with twin 14.5mm or 23mm heavy guns mounted on trucks will wipe out an army platoon in a matter of minutes !

An army of 40 soldiers platoon will have about 4 vehicles and can mount 3 with Browning or DshK machine guns and the last 1 vehicle with Automatic Grenade Launcher.

Army platoon of 40 men defending a location or area can fortify with sandbags and mount a tripod stand Automatic Grenade Launcher to knock out approaching enemy invasion vehicles from 2km away.

The army platoon of 40 men can also dig in trench and use their Automatic Grenade Launcher as a mini- Mortar by elevating the barrel and rain high explosives on an area to deny enemy access.

"The Personal Role Radio (PRR) is a small transmitter-receiver that allows infantry soldiers to communicate over short distances.

PRR is issued to every member of an eight-strong infantry section"

http://www.army.mod.uk/equipment/23213.aspx

====================================================================================

AGL with over 2.2km effective range is Nigerian army`s infantry answer to Boko Haram 14.5mm 3km effective range AAA

.
Infantry support weapons are heavy and manned by around 3 and more troops. Try absorb how army units are designed. Regarding radios,it isn't necessary at platoon and section level for very soldier to be equipped with one and they won't enhance manoeuvrability of the blue force.

ZeusAyo: so now let's say mike is drifting away from the main unit and straying into an ambush, although he has Λ gps tracker on his wrist, how would his commander be able to re route him if he doesn't have his own personall radio?
A typical platoon is made of around 3 sections, each led by a section leader. It is this leader whom is supposed to have a radio to communicate with the platoon commander.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 10:27pm On Sep 09, 2014
agaugust: Nigerian army fully controls 99.5% of Nigerian territory, if they were running, Boko will be seating in state governors office in Maiduguri commanding Borno.

SANDF is the fastest run away army in African Guinness book of records, even France your saviour has a Reuters journalist making fun of South African retreat of NO RETURN TO BANGUI cheesy

Poachers hunting your Rhinos made you run to American special forces, South African national pride remains 5% of it's original full value cheesy
.
Nope. BH controls some of your territory, they will take it like the Cameroon did couple of years back cheesy grin grin cheesy grin grin grin grin. Poachers? Well in Nigeria your military failed that fight centuries ago. Now lions and other wild animals are facing extinction by hunters hungry for some "BUSH MEAT" tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue!!! Fought for more than 12 hours no running!!!! The French never fought during the battle of bangui, they did recently against a Seleka that was mauled and greatly damaged.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 10:18pm On Sep 09, 2014
agaugust: No, BH is buying Badger IFV before the slow and cash broke SANDF cheesy cheesy

Rhino poachers in Kruger park bought anti-aircraft SA-7 and s.hot down SANDF Helicopter in broad daylight, then your inexperienced air force decided to go hide the Rhinos in Botswana since your military is defeated by bushmen hunters cheesy cheesy
.
The production contract for the Badger IFV was activated months ago grin grin grin cheesy grin shocked shocked shocked shocked. BH isn't buying anything they're capturing all the equipment from your army. Building up momentum in their terror brutal campaign to try pull a operational feat. SAAF has nothing to do with KNP policies.

agaugust: Who told you? NAF has Kainji Air weapons testing and training range. What do you know about Nigerian military beyond internet Wikipedia?
.
Yes,an "air weapons testing and training range".
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 10:07pm On Sep 09, 2014
agaugust: Training is not war, current Iraqi army had American training but when ISIS war came they saw death and ran away until America came back to save them.

Almost all those South African soldiers you post in your nairaland photos are rookies with ZERO war experience, when real war comes and they fire one bullet, enemy replies with RPG and they see their fellow Soweto soldiers head separated from his neck 12 feet apart, SANDF will run like Kangaroo when blood begins to flow like water and human body parts become like broken pots shattered and scattered everywhere.

Only 15 to 50 body bags landed at Pretoria airport and your army said forever goodbye to Seleka and Bangui cheesy cheesy
.
The story why the Iraqi army is performing badly is long and complex. SA troops are trained by well experienced and qualified officers. From around 15:00/16:00 that Friday until Saturday evening Seleka was being neutered, harassed and mauled by a force of around 200 soldiers well led fighting more than 2000km away from home and supplies and reinforcement coming in. THEY STOOD AND FOUGHT!! I'm doubtful your 150 bullet carrying soldiers would've stood their ground,as they love running.

That's the responsibility of the platoon commander.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by MikeZA: 8:29pm On Sep 09, 2014
ZeusAyo: each soldier equiped with Λ radio improves situational awareness and improves how easily the entire army can manouver without leaving someone behind
Impractical. The SA is still developing the technology other countries too, sensors to track movement of each and every soldiers. But many armies still lack MIL-STD data links and the software. Sensors can be installed on helmets or worn on writs.

Don't you think BH prepared for this? They started this semi-conventional war, cause your generals lacked a military strategy. They fought by deploying a division would scare BH.

Boko can go buy Badger IFV from Finland if he likes, NAF will b.low it up like we did to his armour in Bama and Damboa

BH so rich they're importing Shilkas? Soon they'll buy fighter jets,if this is what you're saying.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by MikeZA: 4:50pm On Sep 09, 2014
ZeusAyo: if this was Λ south african war, am sure you would equip every soldier with one. The only language insurgents understand is force. If you want to force your enemy to the negociation table, you have to first drench him in fire that way, common sense requires that you negotiate to avoid total annihilation
Nope. If a platoon needed such capability it can be attached to the platoon from support units,if it was standardised in the army. Some people go as far as demanding each soldier should have a radio, whom is he going to call? The section leader?

NaijaPikinGidi: MI-35s doing damage to enemy lines! Nighttime is goodtime ... using these new sweeties! Keep the troops in your prayers!! cool cool cool
BH owns the war. The description and nature of this war comes from terrorist commanders. They're the ones deciding how the war is going to be fought. Introduction of newer hinds isn't really a game changer. BH pulls your armed forces to the dance floor: "Come let's dance".

Your expensive Gripen jets cannot fly beyond Zambia when they carry weapons grin

Light logistics trail. The Gripens can be operated from road strips.

agaugust: THIZA, for the 4 photos you posted, let me just waste this few minutes for you because I won't go back to old information that everybody knows on this thread.

Nigeria has Bofors FH-77B best NATO artilley, Mi-35M best Russian helicopter gunship, Big Foot MRAP one of the best in the world, BTR-3U IFV one of the best in Europe....but the Badger IFV you posted for South Africa is not yet in service with your army today, so Nigeria has a better IFV than South Africa today 2014.

Leave this argument THIZA, the only thing SANDF has but we don't, are Submarines.

.
Sweden isn't part of NATO. The German PzH2000 is the best SP howitzer in NATO's arsenal. Nigeria has -50 BTR-3U vs SA 1000+ Ratel IFVs. Also the. BTR-3U isn't the best in Europe.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 1:29pm On Sep 09, 2014
agaugust: Bagder IFV is being assembled in South Africa with parts shipped from Finland. South Africa does NOT even produce any engines and chassis grin

"South African defence company Denel Land Systems (DLS), part of the State-owned Denel group, plans to use its existing facilities to assemble the vehicle element of the South African Army’s future Badger infantry fighting vehicle (IFV)."

http://www.engineeringnews.co.za/article/new-badger-fighting-vehicle-to-be-assembled-in-south-africa-2011-03-15

.
Lack of knowledge has lead you to that conclusion. DLS awarded local and international companies production contracts to supply certain components and systems, this will enable DLS to come up with the price of the Badger IFV,meaning "marketing the systems". Some parts even come from France. This is normal to weapon systems production. As you might have seen DLS is supplying turrets to Malaysia for a Turkish IFV. SA also supplied Brazil with parts for their missiles.#NORMAL

agaugust: South African special forces travel to America for training. Posted that here before.

Also, before Congo UN deployment, South African army went for bush warfare training in Brazil under the Brazilian army that has ZERO war experience, that means the army that has NO experience even knows more than your SANDF m.o.r.ons grin

No single weapon was involved in that Boy Scouts camping training, not even a bow and arrow grin

.
Courses not training. The TDF(Transkai defence force) special forces did a lot of jungle training.

agaugust: Oga Fynline, first clear and indisputable photo of a Nigerian army AGL ! Thank you sir !

I hope we got them in large numbers, every platoon of 40 soldiers in NE war zone should have one in the field, and every base should have four on guard around the perimeter to take out approaching Boko Haram vehicles from 2km away, and we need electro-optical sights.

Nigerian needs at least 1,000 units of the Automatic Grenade Launcher for anti-Boko Haram war !

It is more maneuverable, has a bigger operational footprint, flys higher and climbs faster

It carrys more ordinance

It carrys better ordinance

It has a better offensive avionics suite

It has a better defensive avionics suite

It has better navigational equipment

And let's not even talk about the better battlefield characteristics of the rooivalk
And more importantly is its availability and ease on logistics.
