agaugust: Busted for what? for posting a similar AGL design that you don't know exists?

The Ammo Box for the Nigerian Cobra AGL is clearly seen as much bigger than the old German AGL. This world is full of too many types of hard to identify/name infantry weapons flooding the market.

There are many Nigerian army equipment we see but we don't know the exact name because the army never published it, we see MGLs in use that we don't know the name or origin, try name the MGL below with a source...
.
That looks some Polish MGL forgot the name.

Boko Haram insurgents

Michael Olugbode

In an attempt to expand their caliphate to cover another major Borno town, Bama, the outlawed Boko Haram sect met their Waterloo as 59 members of the terrorist sect were said to have been felled in an exchange of firepower with the Nigerian Army on Monday.

The terrorist group  attacked Bama, one of the largest town in the troubled state with a population of over 500,000 and a distance of 78 kilometres away from Maiduguri on Monday morning but suffered heavy casualty from the Nigerian Army in a crossfire.

According to a security source which preferred anonymity, 59 of about 200  insurgents who  invaded the town were killed.

He said over 30 insurgents were also  injured with various bullet wounds as the majority of the terrorists were compelled to retreat  through the bush.
Details to follow

Henry120: They have only a handful. Very poor numbers, I can affirm.
The SANDF has a lot of rifle grenades,MGL,DMRs and AGLs.

agaugust: There are 50,000 SANDF inside South Africa, that is your real strength, and it failed...American soldiers called in to rescue Southies !
.
Answer my question: How many soldiers are deployed in Kruger? And that's not the SANDF strength.

patches689: I was thinking "lending" until we decide on what direction to take with light, medium and heavy lift

But ja, I read a comment Mr Heitman made on defence web RE: Il-75s... he knocked the christ out of the thing. I dont think I will ever be able to look at one in the same way..
Lending something as an interim solution might end being a long term one in the military, cause of funding and politics. LOL I hate Russian equipment too. The Algerians were sold MIG-29s,made from old jets parts.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 5:11pm On Sep 01, 2014
agaugust: PROVE IT !
.
The Y3 AGL,The Y2 MGL and MGL-140 in the SANDF are better than all your AGLs and MGLs.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 5:06pm On Sep 01, 2014
andrewza: MGL is secstion level. 27 secstions mean 27 MGLs per battlion in adstion there are 27 pat mortas though they controledd by the platoon comanda. The battlion has 4 AGLs.

The NTW20 is used only by SF. There is not even a accurent figuer on how many operators there are.

For the AGL and pat morta

http://itweb.co.za/mobilesite/defenceweb/home/item_id-6553/

The MGL is based on what I know. Though from pics you can see it is the case. All so the rifleman may carry a rifel grenade.
Some unit within the army uses the NTW-20.

patches689: Seems Zuma was in "secret" talks in Russia (not so secret as the story got broken by news24).

Its seems the main purpose of the talks between him and Vlad was the new AU Rapid Response formation we are putting together... specifically air-lift.

Gunna be interesting to see what comes out of this.... aquisitions, or just some lend-lease type of deal until a decision an the A400-M is made.

I will be quite butthurt if we get Il-75's... after Helmoed thrashed them so hard.

But some An-124's for strategic lift or An-70's for medium lift wont be too bad. And maybe we will hop in on the development of the Il-112 (dem BRICS connections)

Having the DR on the horizon has made things very interesting indeed.
An introduction of Russian plane would mess up our logistics. I hate the idea of "lending",it would be a real good political move for SA to join development for a BRIC plane or purchase any from China,Brazil and Russia.

He'll tell us it is a top secret assault rifle and its specs are classified when we know it is simply AK-47 copy.

Trained the British or Israelis? And are they part of the army or air force?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:30am On Sep 01, 2014
Henry120: LMAO

Not only is the R-4 a copy of the AK-47, the AKM pictured with the nigerians is a superior assault rifle to the R-4(copy).
The R4 and R5 are superior to the AK-47. Always superior!!!!!

agaugust: Cobra's have in-built radios, you see am for outside? Ode grin
No radios. Not vehicles, the platoon commander won't be inside the vehicles most of the time. That pictures shows more than 10 radios, with a single Cobra that carries 8 soldiers yet you claim that vehicle filled to the roof with ammo for the troops.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:11am On Sep 01, 2014
agaugust: At least a whole battalion of about 600 men or even more, went to Damboa, all the photos available show only about 60 men total, I said you have less than 10% photo records of what was deployed in Damboa, can you please respect yourself a little bit once in a while?
NO APCs and IFVs. They matched to Damboa on foot,if Damboa was at the hands of a professional army that attack would've been repelled. Your army is immobile.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:06am On Sep 01, 2014
Henry120: Cry boy, Cry.

Why don't you add, "this picture shows ground troops "shout out" enemy positions to helicopter pilots".

Ode
then your army hasn't developed the "forward air controller" concept yet. Cause in a unit they'll always be FAC officer,if that mission includes artillery and aircraft. Yes,they "shout out" cause they have radios.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:03am On Sep 01, 2014
Henry120: Utility trucks for armed forces are a critical asset of COIN, everybody from the Turks- indians - Mexicans to the americans use Pick-up trucks for COIN.

No nigerian town before gwoza, was overun.

And no, I mean military supply trucks.
The Turks,Mexicans and Americans? I say look at Selous Scout and Koevoet they hunted freedom fighters in APCs and their missions are legendarym. What trucks? Civilian trucks?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:24pm On Aug 31, 2014
Again this picture shows lack of radios in your army.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:21pm On Aug 31, 2014
Henry120: I don't know why, but you're cracking me up, a whole lot tonight. Good job bro.

You do not fight or conduct COIN Operations from the interior of your armoured vehicle dummy. You dismount and hunt the enemy.

There are by far more APC's in the operation, than the photo captures. 6:1 (streit mk3, igirigi or cobra). I don't want to compromise peeps(identity) trust/ mission confidentiality, I would have posted an image of ammo in N.A APC's.

However, I won't.

What I'm telling you is, there are more APC's and military supply trucks in that scene. The photo just doesn't capture them.

Fact!

Here is a related N.A photo.

6 NA soldiers, 1 12.7mm, 1 GPMG.
It wasn't a "hunting" mission but an aggressive one to capture a town. South African carry more ammo and even more in their vehicles. You mean "civilian supply trucks"?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:17pm On Aug 31, 2014
agaugust: That Cobra is NOT tiny, it is a 6,000 kg vehicles that carries 8 soldiers. That convoy has many photos including many Trucks that were not shown. You think only one vehicle was used in Damboa?

The available photos are not up to 10% of what was deployed in Damboa battle.

Nigerian army don't have time for full-time Hollywood that SANDF the jobless army is doing 24/7 at home. M.oron grin
.
Then why are more than 8 soldiers matching with a single Cobra. The picture shows that your army soldiers match to combat on foot with less APCs,IFVs,Mortars.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:12pm On Aug 31, 2014
agaugust: Nope. Kruger park is only 19,000 sq km, Israel is 27,000 sq km.

North East Nigeria war zone is 13 times the size of your Kruger park.

Means SANDF if a useless force of supporters. UN in Congo DRC should expel your battalion because you are there as supporters.

You don't want to accept that you are a vital part of any mission once that mission fails. SANDF is an unreliable and irresponsible helper.

Your military was brought into Kruger park because the Rangers have failed, and as a better force based on fine fine photographs, SANDF was brought in to do what Rangers cannot do, SANDF 21 Battalion plus Special Forces, with Air Force and Drones joined to them in same operation....do you know how much of a high level force that is?

Yet your country's last hope and last line of defense failed in the time of need, South African military has admitted defeated from mere hunters and your disappointed nation is removing Rhinos overseas to go and hide them in Botswana where their army is better to SANDF

.
How soldiers are in Kruger?

Henry120: Is this the one malema flies in?........... LOL ..... Limousine boys.

Remember Foooooorty!!!!!!

This doesn't include the incoming Helos for the Navy.

U.S soldiers carry 7 on them. Go laugh.
Polish forces carry 4, and they got a 600+ billion dollar economy.

There is always replenishement ammo in the APC's.
You think we 5 years old?

Facts remains that you lack APCS,heres picture shared by augubuhu. Are you gonna tell us these soldiers have kept all their ammo in that tiny Cobra?
