chris365:Here's the thing, soldiers who fought in the bush war on both sides are now in their Forties and fifties and those who didn't leave the armed forces are now Generals and Colonels. The commander in CAR didn't fight in the bush, but he brilliantly commanded his men while holding a rifle and a drip on the other hand. The Chief of the SANDF(General Solly Shoke) made it clear that "running is not an option",while his j ops Generals were hammering a plan to reinforce the bats. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Latecomer!! You missed this same debate long ago. It's not worth going through with you again!! All we see is more of the same pictures as usual yet, the planes were in the freezer when SANDF took to their heels in defeat."It is worth mentioning" that fighter pilots were put on standby, with their heavy lift pilots counterparts. The bats defended their base, while senior joint operations Generals were confused by the politicians on weather to reinforce or not. |
patriot4: If you want to compare on brutality then I would gladly leave that to you."Up children!! Up the children of Zulu destroy them all, your time has come"«----The Great warrior king Shaka inspiring his men during the battle against King Zwide's army. |
patriot4: I am getting tired. You are failing to understand verry simple things. Look at the war history of other kingdoms! You can not just be saying Zulu this and Zulu that and then conclude by saying the zulus were the best warriors in Africa. The title best implies there is a comparison !That's because they're the best like that. Unless you wanna tell me about your "Igwe" who commanded his men to victory,Like king Shaka did. Tell me about your kings or chiefs who fought well. OH they bowed to the British heheheheh LOL. |
patriot4: Why send them to Nigerian brother Brazil ? You could have saved yourself the trip and send them to Nigeria.Because of the Amazon jungle. |
patriot4: It is easy to think you are "top nutch" if you don't compare yourself with others. Try and learn about the Edos, the Fulanis, the Malians, the Dahomians, the Ethiopians, the Yorubas, the Ibos, the Berber. Try and learn, then you will see that the zulus were severly outclassed. The Zulus were outclassed by the British but we wiped then out in the Fort hill battle. The Zulus defeated the King Zwide of Ndwandwe tribe, whom had a huge army. The zulus were outclassed by any tribe or empire, but when the well coordinated zulu attack came armies ran leaving their girls whom were made maidens in the Zulu empire. GET IT? |
patriot4: No I think it is the opposit. And I think you are going for some more surprises in DRC.The battle against rebels in DRC has already began, with the FARDC taking M23 position from yesterday, their leader Makenga has been ambushed for several times now. We sent officers only in Brazil, the 6 infantry battalion and their backers(special forces, medical personnel and some signal unit) are on the ground in DRC. |
patriot4: If you want to compare on brutality then I would gladly leave that to you.Boy The Zulus defeated armies twice or even seven times their size like the Ndwandwe. From the Boer wars, bush war and last the CAR incident we went to combat with less men but the enemy went home leaving casualties and the injured on the ground cause they couldn't carry them. NUMBERS DON'T WIN WARS. Remember when the Boers gave the British a serious headache?. South African military history is rich. |
patriot4: Keep on dreaming, you don't even come close.Bluh Bluh Bluh Bluh Bluh!!!! Tell me something you did or doing now. Since the days of Mfecane any foe who dared to fight South Africans, went home crying for "MAMA". |
patriot4: I think it is you who needs to learn one thing or two about African history. The Zulus are no where near, many kingdoms in African history: for example I would pick all these kingdoms over the Zulus: the Dahomians or the Ethiopians or the Edos or The Bereber or the Fulanis and so on...Let's talk about who conquered in battle. Who went to combat with less men and came back with more. Yes,That's the Zulus boy. The Zulus were a small tribe during Shaka's father dynasty, under Shaka a small tribe rose to the top with the worse brutality the African continent has ever seen. You need to read about Mfecane. |
chris365: so because you don't have any current combat experience compared to Nigeria, you want to use shaka zulu's experience to rank your army as number one in africa?Current combat experience? The SANDF is compromised of soldiers whom fought on both sides during the Bush war. So our experience is way rich. Our last combat test was in car, which was influenced by politician. While our bush war veteran colonels and Generals were ready to go into CAR and destroy seleka. |
patriot4: Nigeria can actually boast of having done the fastest deployment of men and material in African history and one of the fastest in human history: we did that in Liberia and Sierra Leone. In African history you say?,remember when the SADF rushed into Angola to help UNITA. Your record was broken by Botswana and SA when they quickly deployed men in Lesotho, regardless of the state the SANDF was in. And again we saw how quick a company of parabats landed in CAR,and the reaction after they were engaged in combat. The SANDF sent another company of bats to Uganda and stationed attack Helos and Fighter jets in country around CAR. While Heitman was telling the media, that the SANDF was stuck in CAR. And the African Union could have paid for the mission in CAR,so stop talking about funds. |
patriot4: 1895: the british tried to invade Benin City but the forces they sent were decimated, only two of their soldiers survived. The Zulus are Africa's best combat tested tribe. Great warrior King Shaka invited the Buffalo horns tactic, which is the equivalent of today's pincers movement. Read more about Shaka's Generals who conquered land from present day SA to areas until Tanzania,Zambia and Malawi only to be stopped when the area northwards seemed to be infested by the tsetse fly. The Sothos defeated the British on several occasions too. |
agaugust: swingfire anti-tank guided missile of nigerian army is the most deadly in africa....It has a range of 4km so shut up. Did you know the Mokopa(Black mamba in Sepedi) missile can be fitted to a vehicle and it has a range of 10km. The swingfire's production stopped in 1993 you know what that means. GET IT? |
chris365: and please tell me what is so unique about their take on combat?Remind me about CAR please. How many days it took Nigeria to deploy in Mali?. By unique I mean "Long distance mechanised penetration, with less support",you can see this by how the Rooivalk was designed it can refill from drums somewhere in the African bush. Here's a picture below of SAAF Gripens in Zambia awaiting orders,to go into CAR. This was a quick reaction by the SANDF,Nigeria took months to deploy in Mali

chris365: hehehehe... i love how these guys are f.ooling themselves.spares and arrows?,your kings and chiefs bowed down to the British without any resistance while south african tribes fought bloody well and won in many battles. You never won any war, cause you always fight rebels. I will respect your army the day it takes on another country's army. Your soldiers tested blood and steel only late during the SL,Liberia and Nigerian civil wars. South Africans are the descendants of disciplined soldiers whom fought during the Anglo_Boer wars(Remember General De la Rey),soldiers whom fought brilliantly for their land(King sekhukhune,King Cetswayo and Chief Bambata),soldiers(impis) who fought for the rise of the might Zulu empire (Great warrior King Shaka). Nigerians only knew how to use a weapon during some low intensity civil war,I'm mean Biafrans were lightly armed. |
chris365: yeah! for the showroom and some military models to pose with as usualNo sir, they're gonna be replacing the SANDF Ratel fleet. It is not like Nigeria sells any weapon. Many armies don't operate like the SANDF's unique take on combat. |
scipher: obviously haven't been to NIGERIA... Anyways, I have some pics of Limpopo, mpumalanga, and some part of joburg with terrible roads, should we start? Even North westMpumalanga's roads are in A1 condition,The only problem they face is heavy lift trucks transporting ore to Mozambique. Let's uploads pictures. I can upload pictures I took today near the boarder with Mozambique in Mpumalanga. I dare you. |
saengine: I've been looking for this pic for a while. The anti tank version of the Badger IFV.This babies will be rolling out of the production line later this year or earlier next. I just can't wait for project Aorta. |
chris365: unlike south africa that runs an ajebutter military, we run a hardened and tough one. these two guys will take out 30 SANDF when it comes to it. so don't fret.Go to your nearest library and train the muscle inside your cranium. Hardened?,South Africans are hardened from fighting tribal wars during the Mfecane years,to WW1,WW2 and the Korean war. And the late bush war. Nigerians will tell you about "hard fighting" in SL and Biafra. |
NaijaPikinGidi: The roads could be better but the poor majority usually cannot afford to have a jolly good ride on them! Not an incentive either for the poor to aspire to own personal vehicles! The poor enjoy taking a bus or minibus taxis, and ride in comfort. Now let's talk about your pothole ridden roadway system. |
chris365: Nigerian made APCIt looks funny. Was this a normal civilian jeep converted to an APC? |
scipher: @mzauza - this are soldiers not tooth picksIt is hot for complexion sake. |
NaijaPikinGidi: There you go again! Never-ending excuses when your rear-ends get exposed! Aids orphans! Yet you are all wallowing under your government's extra milking of your pockets to maintain or build infrastructure SANRAL e-toll projects? Please get useful for your sake. And You still wonder why South African roads are in better conditions than most of other African's states. The e-toll is not introduced yet for your info. |
Donian007: LOL, maybe Zuma give them special order to dey only drink garri with groundnut. I no talk oh. #WINKS#Here's why "The purpose of the selection is to simulate the most extreme physically and mentally stressful conditions that could ever possibly be experienced by a human being operationally,in order to see how the potential candidates. will adapt to the situations. This is done to ensure that only the most stable, disciplined, self- disciplined and resourceful persons - who are able to tap into the infinite strength of the mind as opposed to merely physical attributes - are able to succeed and pass. Many persons who pass selection have a physically small or weak appearance and many who fail are physically immensely strong." South Africans are physically or not muscular built like other Africans. |
chris365:Sorry but it was the secretary of SANDU Mr Greef, who complained about the health of SANDF Generals. When it was revealed that the Chief of the SANDF General Solly Shoke was in hospital complaining about chest pains. Or you should upload pictures of fat combat SANDF soldiers not Generals.
|
agaugust: thanks, but all those south african Rooikat or Ratel armoured vehicles, Olifant Tanks and MRAPS will be wiped out by nigerian army T-72 BM tanks, or Vickers MK3 tanks or Swingfire Anti-tank guided missiles.South African weapons were designed to deal with Russian made weapons. More specific the Olifant(Afrikaans for Elephant) MBT which was designed,to deal with the threat of Angola might soon be equipped with the T-72 tank. And sir all your mechanised units can perish front of any SANDF vehicle equipped with the Ingwe missile with a range of 5,5 km,with bloody deadly accuracy.
|
agaugust:It was absorbed to Durban shipyards. If we wanted to sea blockade Nigeria,a single super evasive submarine would do. Nigeria has less or no anti_submarine warfare capability. We evaded NATO warships, whom have a huge experience in anti_submarine warfare. What can your used American warships do,that NATO failed to do? |
NaijaPikinGidi: And let's be more realistic ... you cannot invade our littoral/offshore territory talkless of placing men and hardware an inch on Nigerian soil. Meanwhile, we are currently embedded in your backyard ...Your military engineers have never produced any "eye raising" weapon. Please give me a list of countries that operate Nigerian weapons,we can compare. ![]() NaijaPikinGidi: And let's be more realistic ... you cannot invade our littoral/offshore territory talkless of placing men and hardware an inch on Nigerian soil. chris365: oh! So it's ok for you people to ask irrelivant questions but not okay for someone else abi? Please provide us with the link sir about who's this soldier, where did he die(combat or died from choking while enjoying a Mcdonald's burger). Only then we will provide you with a link, about our brave parabats burial. |
NaijaPikinGidi: And what is your point? Can you humbly summarize this rambling of yours?A country needs to produce weapons fit for the area it will operate. so buying international weapons which were designed to operate in Europe, might backfire in the African battlefield. |
agaugust: .Let's compare then. South Africa produced the SAS Drakensburg, you might remember this supply warship, cause in 2010 it certainly appeared in "your area of influence" during the Ivory coast civil war,South Africa was flexing a military muscle in your face and letting you know who wears pants on the continent. Our ship yards have just finished upgrades on the SAS Galeshwe. Nigeria has the "upgrading capabilty" while SA has the "upgrade and building capability". Stick to "Nigeria armed forces can fight better than the SANDF,cause when it comes upgrading and designing weapons we are in a higher league than you. |
