Politics / Re: Someone Should Tell Me The Truth Of The Civil War In Nigeria, Please by Mille: 7:59pm On May 03, 2019
Excaperx:
Nigeria is a failed country, do you know that history isn't taught in school? I learnt about Benin kingdom on net.

Some people say the civil war was caused by Igbo because of greed.

Some said it was caused by northerners because of greed.

I really want to know what happen.

The one that is starting to make since is Ahmadu bello and gowon planned it and slaughter millions of igbos so that Nigeria won't be regionalised and it will benefit the north, ojukwu heard about it and decided to seceded.

My question is why did ojukwu wanted Midwest even though it wasn't in eastern Nigeria?

Why didn't ojukwu negotiate with other Midwest and Yoruba to see their stance?

I need answers please

I have always wondered why real Nigeria history is not taught in school. Same way our textbooks and schools are telling us Usman Dan Fodio, the Terrorist was a great man.

watch this space. I'll modify later and give you my version of the events.

MODIFIED.
PLEASE LET ME FINISH BEFORE YOU START QUOTING HALF-BAKED STORY .

January 1966, A group of young soldiers led a coup against the government. They were led by 8 Majors of the Nigerian Army, 7 Igbos and one Yoruba (Major Ademoyega). They cited corruption as the reason for the coup but of course, it may be true or not but we will never know.

The coup plotters murdered the major Nigerian leaders at that time. Major casualties include: Prime minister, Tafawa Balewa; Ahmadu Bello, Premier of Northern Nigeria; Ladoke Akintola, Premier of Western Nigeria and Festus Okotie-Eboh (finance minister, an Itsekiri man). The coup was later repressed by the Army led by Aguiyi-Ironsi who was the most senior officer at the time and seized power for himself. Now this is where it gets interesting.

The coup plotters did not murder the Premier of Eastern Nigeria, Michael Opara(Igbo), the President, Nnamdi Azikwe (Igbo and not in Nigeria at the time of the coup), the acting President at the time, Nwafo Orizu (Igbo, Senate President). In truth, no major Igbo casualty. Aguiyi Ironsi who later seized power through the coup was also Igbo and did not execute or even arrest any of the coup plotters (A very big mistake considering that plotting coups =Death). One of the coup leaders, Major Nzeogwu even granted a BBC interview smiling on National television narrating how he had killed Ahmadu Bello and his wife.

The North took this as Igbos going ahead to "dominate Nigeria" after Aguiyi-Ironsi cancelled the autonomy of each of the three regions and centralised power with his unitary system of governance. Ahmadu Bello had earlier accused the Igbos of planning to dominate Nigeria before he was murdered, which was the main reason why he started his Northernization policy. The lack of Igbo casualties, the non-punishment of the coup plotters and Ironsi centralizing power and taking away the freedom of the three regions increased the fear of Igbo domination and led to the counter-coup where Aguiyi-Ironsi was murdered and deposed. Northerners also started the 1966 anti-Igbo pogrom where Igbos in Northern Nigeria were massacred for months.

Ojukwu would subsequently secede from Nigeria and declare the Republic of Biafra..

To answer your questions.

1. No. Gowon and Ahmadu Bello did not plan it. Ahmadu Bello had been murdered before the war and the North did the counter-coup with the intention of actually seceding from the Nigerian Union. Also, Regionalism was already in play before that and it was an Igbo, Aguiyi-Ironsi that stopped the regionalism in favor of the Unitary system. So it's false.

2. If Ojukwu had seceded with the Igbos alone, there would have been no war. But oil had been discovered, Ojukwu wanted it, Nigeria wanted it. France also saw it as an avenue to add a new African state to Francophone Africa, an oil rich one at that. So in truth, the war was not about the people, it was about oil.
Ojukwu vs Nigeria for the oil, France vs Britain for control of the oil.

3. He knew too well he would not get support from the West given they we were casualties of the coup also and also from the Midwest because they knew the war wasn't about them or the people, it was due to the fact that Biafra leaders wanted control of their oil wealth.

Agriculture / Re: Are Machines By FIIRO Cheap? by Mille: 9:32pm On May 01, 2019

Compared to directly outsourcing the fabrication of your machines to a fabricator and buying these machines from FIIRO - Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi

Which is cheaper and better?

I want:
- Cabinet dyer
- Hammer mill with cyclone
- Motorized slicing machine
- Band Sealer
- Vibro Sifter
- Weighing Scale

Buying from fabricators. As long as you know what you're getting quality-wise and insist on warranty with them.

FIIRO actually source for their machines from local fabricators.

Dumb asses like you failed to remember what the west did to Africa...dumb asses like you failed to remember that most of these countries were built on the backs of black slaves....you live in a country where you all have your priorities messed up...you vote for crooked leaders on a daily basis...your thoughts are crooked but all of a sudden that relates to all of Africa...ps. I am Nigerian and people like you make me sick....

Please, you people should stop this what the west did to Africans. It should be rather what the Africans did to other Africans. I blame the UK and France for colonialism but never for Slavery.

From the Old Oyo, Benin, Borno empires to the Sokoto caliphate, Nigerians from East to West dealt in Slavery and it was a major source of income for many in the African empires. The Europeans did not come to take Africans by force, your ancestors sold them to the Europeans.

Sokoto caliphate at its peak has more than 2 million slaves. A huge number considering the low population at that time. The likes of Efunsetan Aniwura and Madam Tinubu comes to mind. These foolish idiots even refused to stop dealing in slaves when the British outlawed it.

The West has built their country but every other African who wants to build his country is quickly brought down by other Africans. The likes of Thomas Sankara and Kwame Nkrumah comes to mind.

We are our own problem.

BTW, I'm a Nigerian in Germany, with a Masters degree from here and I know what it's like to be where you're not wanted.

Something must have led to the doubt you are having

Just tell your wife that you will like to run a DNA on your son

I wonder why men feel there is a need to tell the women before a DNA test is conducted, not even with the way technology has advanced in the last years.

Just take the child for a routine "blood test" or take a mouth swab when you take the kids out or simply just take the cup the child drinks from to any DNA centre. No arguments, no noise, no one needs to know anything and you finally get that peace of mind, well unless the test comes back negative.

meanwhile, here is a story from Ghana,

This is a newspaper article. Of course, they are not going to quote all centres or research like a scientific study but I do understand your point that there needs to be a definite study. But I agree with the study.

I'm also sure many heads will be rolling if Nigerian men decide to conduct DNA tests on their firstborns, especially those that married because of the said pregnancy.

Really? Your "statistics" is based on what someone posted on Twitter and what another said, with no proof to how the study was made, which countries were involved, who analyzed it and what it was based on?

Somehow you chose to ignore vitually the others and just focus on the "Twitter statistic"

You deliberately chose to ignore the Nigerian centre which says at least one of four DNA test conducted at its premises turns out negative.

You chose to ignore the "Durex study" which suggested Nigerian women as the most unfaithful wives. You chose to ignore the Forensic geneticist as well as that one from LASUTH.

Please don't take my post as an attack on Nigerian women. I'd gladly take them over the many other women out there. But with the things I know and I've seen, I'd be damned if I don't do a DNA test on my supposed kids BEFORE they are born.

Properties / Re: Fresh Out. Land For Lease In Yaba by Mille: 7:41pm On Mar 02, 2019

Am sure you don't live in yaba. Also sure you can't see a land not to talk of property for 30m in yaba.

Lol. what is Yaba? The new Ikeja GRA or Lekki Phase 1? I don't need to live in Yaba, I spent a large chunk of
my life at its close cousin, Surulere.

You're only speaking as a property agent, a part of those I blame for the unnecessary inflation of properties in Lagos; Same way someone was advertising a half-plot of land at Abule Egba for 25M.

The Irony of your words though; given that you yourself on Nairaland advertised for sale a full plot of land at Sabo, Yaba for 23.5M. Perhaps unbeknownst to me, they have moved the Lagos state Capital to Yaba for land to not simply be less than 30M in the time between your advert and now.

Though have never traveled out but with the little experience I have had here i think i can advice u. The best is to apply for msc in Germany. Tuition is free there, once u gain admission, u open block account of 3.3m. Bro Germany made it easy that u can apply for family union. There u can live peacefully with ur family. Bro, my thinking everyday is to travel to Germany na the block account dey bring me to reality.

Obviously, you have never travelled out nor even experienced life in Germany, else you wouldn't tell him to come to Germany on a student visa.

One thing I can tell Op is that, if you ever come to Germany on a student visa, forget about that amount you send home monthly. Also forget about bringing your family, else they are going to be a very big big liability.

Hello guys;
I've been using condoms during intercourse for some couple of time now but I just met this girl and she's been celibate for months and I felt she's gonna be free from all sorts of infection so we had sex without condoms.
But to my surprise, 3 days ago I found out it was super difficult for me to urinate and yesterday I got ciprotab as recommended by a friend, But till this morning;
I still have this hot feeling whenever am urinating
something like a pus...very little discharge
and even sorry throat and am getting confused...
please guys based on experience what do you advice I do

From experience, most likely Gonorrhea. Can be cured easily with antibiotics.
Bad for you if left untreated for long.

But first, I'd advice you go for a test (should be 1k or less) to correctly diagnose you and determine the best antibiotics to use.

When you think it can't get any worse. Who will save us, the real Lagosians from the Tyranny of this Tinubu Empire.

Imagine newspapers who are not supposed to be partisan becoming the spokesmen of a political party. Just like they did with Ambode, they have started with the Lagos Police Commissioner.

The same "The nation" wrote an article months ago praising Edgal as seen by the opening sentence of the article linked below.

Imohimi Edgal, the police chief of Lagos State seems like an activist officer. If he weren’t a cop, he would probably be an agitator and crusader for social and societal upliftment. Hardball sees him leading the lines in street protests and issuing fiery releases in indignation of obdurate authorities trampling on civil rights

Hello all,

- I'm on the search for three writers on a fulltime position for a new project. Salary is 20k per month (This will be increased as soon as the project takes off)

- The main emphasis of the position is the ability to PARAPHRASE an article, as well as being able to find new topics. It does not necessarily require writing a new article but it MAY be approved if you want to.

- Position requires you to rewrite 2 short articles a day (Maximum of 10 per week). Articles will be checked with Plagiarism software.

Please indicate your interest.

Please guys. I need help here.

- I graduated in 2015 but I was only Mobilized for NYSC in September 2016. By that time, I was no longer in Nigeria and didn't even bother to register. How do I go about it now? I can't even find my name again on the NYSC senate list.

- Secondly, on what grounds can someone be exempted from the 3 weeks orientation? Even if we have to do it the Nigerian way. I don't intend to spend more than a day or two in the NYSC camp due to my susceptibility to Malaria.

I would appreciate answers.

Duplex - Not Possible. Not with agents already hiking property prices in Lagos.

Bungalow - Possible.

Lekki* - None of the above.

But that depends on where you count as Lekki. Growing up, Jakande Estate where my grandparents lived was in Ajah, Now agents classify it as Lekki. They now claim places like Ajah, Sangotedo and even as far back as Abijo and Ibeju as Lekki to unsuspecting buyers.

If you also consider these places as Lekki, then it is possible.

Some of you have tiny shreds of mercy hanging on you...

It is better you retrace your steps...

You theists never cease to amaze me.

How can someone supposedly reasonable come to preach to me about an also supposedly MERCIFUL god who is going to burn people in hell eternally ?

This same god could have just come down and end the confusion of the real religion amongst the many others and stop punishing innocent people simply because of who and where they are born.

I mean, this same supposedly merciful god in a supposedly written holy book sent a supposed king called Saul to go murder innocent women, men and children. As SUPPOSEDLY MERCIFUL as he is, he still punished SAUL for SPARING some Innocent lives and not destroying them all completely.
How you read this same book and sleep peacefully at night is a mystery.

I don't know what tribe you are from but I'm sure that if the Ibadan army hasn't regrouped to send the Muslim (TERRORISTS) Jihadists outside of Yorubaland or the same Islamic terrorists/jihadists (like the Dothrakis) had been able to successfully cross the River Niger before the Missionaries came with their Slavery, you will definitely be here shouting Allahu Akbar up and down.

Health / Re: Please Help! Painful Lumps In My Armpit. by Mille: 10:36pm On Dec 08, 2018
I had something similar in late October. Started small but also growing but slowly.

I finally went to the hospital here in Germany. I was told it was an infection and had surgery to have it removed (Yes, Surgery). After the surgery, I signed myself out of the hospital same day against the doctor's advice.

But three weeks later, I had 3 lumps growing back in the same area. I went to the hospital this time again, decided against surgery and had the top spots opened up. I also used the drugs given to me.

Now, I'm free. But the doctors would not tell me how I got the infection. So I have stopped using the new roll-on I bought as well as not having my armpits since then.

I hope this helps you. Go the hospital.
