Madam! grin
Susom:
Hello Lexusgs430, I am back to say thank you for assisting me with the house search in the Kent area even though I couldn't land any. I eventually got somewhere in Hayes, they were willing to take 6months rent ahead of the Tenancy. Settling in the UK on a Sole Representative Visa for a Nigerian Company has been so tough but all is fine now. I wish I registered on the electoral register as a student during my master.

Thank you Thank you Thank you

Different strokes for different folks. Some use it because it gets them easily set up upon getting to the UK, some because of the inbuilt transfer function to international accounts while others use it solely for online transactions or 3rd party payments as they wouldn't want to use their regular bank accounts in order to prevent their banking info from getting into the wrong hands.
Many people also don't do much offline cash transactions so it's not really a problem to them.
erico2k2:
so in 6 months, I can only deposit £1k cash which means in one whole month you can only receive something like £155 cash in a month really?if you are legal in the Uk why would one wanna subject themselves to that? and u cant pay more than £10k a day wiv ur debit card and cant cash out more than £5500 in a month nahhhh
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mimilyrics: 9:01pm On Dec 02, 2020
True about a deposit limit but it's £1,000 cash deposit every 180 days. Unlimited inbound bank transfers. Outbound transfers have 24 hour limits of £10,000. ATM withdrawal is capped at £400 within 24 hours and £5,500 over 30 days. Daily bank transfer and card transactions is pegged at £10,000 each.
erico2k2:
ahah If I talk nah dem go gather me wan beat, I heard that you can only deposit cash payment max 300 in every 180 days and its via pay point no physical bank

No, you're not. You can use your school address and sort accommodation once you've got your visa.
seekdel:
Congratulations. Happy to read your testimony.

Please I am about to submit my visa application. Do I need to secure accommodation and include the evidence in my application?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 6:01pm On Dec 02, 2020
Government issued documents are generally accepted by UKVI but it's helpful to include a brief explanation in the additional information section / on a cover letter providing information on the circumstances on the non availability of your birth certificate.
This will prevent an erroneous refusal in a case where the caseworker is used to only seeing birth certificates.
Marylabliss:
Hello

Please do the UK embassy accept NPC attestation for a birth certificate for the parent sponsor? Your urgent reply will be appreciated.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 5:53pm On Dec 02, 2020
1. Parents bank statement if sponsored by your parents.

2. Sponsorship letter stating the cost and length of sponsorship and other required details. This has to be from the Nigerian government, UK government, international company or international organisation.
harmony940:
Good evening gurus please what is the meaning of evidence of sponsorship.......
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 7:06am On Dec 02, 2020
Better to separate your business from your personal account.
kisibo:
can someone that have been refused based on the amount deposited in his account is not fixed due to using personal account to run his business follow this procedure and start paying himself salary of the amount he mentioned in his application for it to be fixed and to be accurate.?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 7:05am On Dec 02, 2020
1. Either of your accounts as long as the money is held in the manner prescribed by UKVI.

2. Apart from the wedding certificate, you can include few pictures from the wedding and some random ones (about 5-6 should be enough, joint bills (don't worry if you have none), communication evidence for the ti.e you've been apart (WhatsApp, calls etc).
These are to show that there's a genuine and subsisting relationship between you two and not an arrangement.

Gurus in the house please, i got Uk tier4 student visa(masters) on 13th of last month, i planned to go back on march to get married to my girlfriend(court marriage) and carry her as my dependant. please what other documents that are needed. i am aware of maintenance fee 6120

I'm not sure how true that is but to the best of my knowledge, it isn't. Relatives can normally help pay your tuition online, they just can't be your official sponsor if they aren't your parents.
Jerido:
Good morning my ogas,

Please i learnt some schools in the UK does not permit tuition deposit to be done by relatives in the UK on behalf of the student. please how true is this because i had discussed with a relative who is willing to do this on my behalf to avoid the delay in processing tuition from Nigeria. I am going to BCU. Please help clarify my concern. Thank you and God bless you
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 9:42am On Dec 01, 2020
1. It cost N57,800 (not sure if it's been revised in line with current increase in $ exchange).
2. Aside from the calls and emails, you can try going to their office to sort it but that's a risk that might or might not pay off.
3. If you've got someone trusted that can make the payment, you can give the person naira but the rate might be higher.

unclepopo2:
Good morning my people oo.. please i need a quick response
1. How much is TB test?
2. How can i get an appointment with iom, i have called, they are not picking, and not responding to mail, o ti su mi, please help me , i have just a week to meet deadline

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 8:17am On Dec 01, 2020
You need to pay before you go for your test but you pay after you book. You'll have to take your receipt along when going for the test.
It cost N57,800 (not sure if it's been revised in line with current increase in $ exchange).
Aderin0la:
Please all,

When going to book a TB test at IOM Ikeja, what documents do I need to go with? Also, will I have to pay before I can book? Or I’ll be allowed to pay on the test day?
Lastly, how much is the test currently? I’m seeing conflicting prices online.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 3:42pm On Nov 29, 2020
Yes and that's why I stated that I wasn't 100% certain that it will work now but I've had someone do it before because the child wasn't living an independent life.
LagosismyHome:
This is the main problem for over 18 is this statement in your screen shot :they are making an application for permission as a dependant of Student who is permitted to have dependants in the UK having last held permission as a dependant of that Student or the Student’s dependant partner

...........

This reads to me that for any over 18 , only applies to those who already held permission to live in the UK as your dependant child. So probably initally issued when they were less than 18 .
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
See link and attached screenshot from the student visa guide page 109. I've had someone do same for an application from outside the UK but it wasn't recent so I can't say for certain that it will 100% work now.

Bourne007:
Proving is one thing, the rules are another. I'm sure the ECO would want to follow the latter.

Can you show us where it says over 18 can?

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 2:57pm On Nov 29, 2020
The dependant rules apply to a child above 18 only if the child hasn't married or started living an independent life and the parents can prove it.
Bourne007:
But first child is 19 and dependant rules apply to under 18 years. Even if op submits all these proof to convince ECO, same guidelines will apply. Don't you think?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 2:43pm On Nov 29, 2020
You can't run any form of business as a student. See attached screenshot on some examples of self-employment as a student.
bamangar:
I need a viable response on this. I learnt that the UK student visa doesn't allow any form of freelancing jobs.
Some one was saying that one's student accounts are monitored. If you work far more than the hours, they will know. And if you make far more money required to be in your account as a student, they will know.

Now here is my point, someone that has social media platforms that generates up to N1m / £2k monthly, she has been running this social media platforms since she was in Nigeria and intends maintaining it while undergoing her masters in Uk. While in uk, she's making that money, withdrawing it with student account and using it to take care of herself.
Will the student visa be withdrawnhuhhuh Though all those money are made genuinely from her online platform she creates content for.

Secondly, can one run an online business while also doing student jobs with the normal 20 hours, if immigration discover they make more money, will it affect the student visa??

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
1. Yes, you can all apply at once. You can also decide that your husband applies first if you think that there's a risk of refusal to prevent wasting the associated fees. This all boils down to your preferences.
2. No as long as he's not married, in a civil partnership or living an independent life.
3. Depends on you. You can decide for the main applicant to go first to sort accommodation so that the stress of searching and cost of temporary accommodation while you look for a permanent one doesn't affect you all. On the other hand, you can all decide to come together if you don't mind the cost and stress.

To prove that he's dependent on you, submitting the following will help prove your case and convince the ECO that he meets all the requirements of a student dependant visa;
1. An official letter from his current school, college or university that confirms his address (which should be same as yours).
2. bank statement (which may show funds that you/your husband are still providing to support him ie. Pocket money, school fees etc.).
3. Driver's licence (the address on it should be the same as your address). If no DL, you can use his voter's card as long as it's got same address as yours.
4. evidence that he is being financially supported by you and your husband up to the point of the application submission (for example, evidence covering a 3 month period prior to the application)
Naomi2016:
A beautiful afternoon to everyone here, please I need your urgent advise. My hubby just got admission for his PhD and we want to apply for visa, below are my questions
1. Can the four of us apply at once? Or hubby should apply alone first. I'm thinking they will say the family is too large ( We have all the necessary cash)
2. Our first child is 19 and the second is 6, will the first born be disqualified because of his age?
3. If granted visa, is it advisable that we all leave at once?
Thank you all as I await your candid response.

Yea, you are.
akanniade10:
Wedding will take place December 24th. We will be applying early next year as against May intake.

I don’t think we will be having any joint bills.

Are we still good?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 7:17am On Nov 29, 2020
You're definitely being milked.
Pls check your application to verify that the "agent" didn't fill any untrue information on your application as this may cost you later.
Also download a copy of your application for reference and info verification when you're filling future applications.
Preshy2004:
Thank you dear. I have paid for visa fees the agent is asking for submission fees plus courier service fees 32,000. I asked him why he said is for submission of documents and courier fees.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 7:12am On Nov 29, 2020
From people's experiences, yes but it will cost you about N42,000 and it's not a given that you'll be able to do walk-in on a certain day.
ateka7777:
Hello gurus in the house. Please is there a service called 'walk in anytime appointment' at ikeja application center. And how much is this service Pls. The dates I'm getting are very far. That's why.
Pls it's urgent. Thank you.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
If you can convince the ECO on the importance of your kids being with you while your husband in Nigeria, you and your kids will be granted but as this will be within the ECO's discretionary powers, it has a 50/50% chance.

You should include a cover letter which details the above along with correspondence from / arrangements with a nursery which you've contacted; you should state that your kids will be there while you're in school so that your study won't be negatively impacted. This usually helps.
ekaita:
Please can i travel for postgraduate studies to the UK with the kids but without my spouse as he intends staying back to assist with financial support. Please confirm if this is possible with a letter of consent or affidavit of consent.

It's on a Friday and I don't want to wait till Mon before printing the SOA because I want to quickly apply for Visa before the December rush. I just need affirmations from you people to know if I'm doing the right thing.thanks
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 8:52pm On Nov 28, 2020
There's no submission fee. You only pay an extra N11,700 to the VAC for help to scan and upload your documents.
If you choose to upload the documents by yourself, you won't be paying other fee except you use VI where you've got to pay about £55 for user pay fee.

The option to use self-upload or the assisted service (help with upload and submission) is available on TLS site only after you submit your application and pay your visa fee on the .Gov.uk website.

If you also choose to select a prime time or flexi appointment or courier service for your passport delivery, you'll need to pay for them.
Preshy2004:
Pls someone should answer me. Pls after paying visa fees will I still pay for submission fee. Pls I dont understand. Which one is submission fee again for visiting and students visa?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 8:25pm On Nov 28, 2020
If you've got pictures and any joint bills together, it's okay.
akanniade10:
Newly Wedded!!! What did you guys use to prove your marriage (genuine and subsisting) apart from marriage certificate. Tier 4 and Tier 4 dependant application
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 8:24pm On Nov 28, 2020
Yes, it's okay and it counts as self-sponsorship. If you're interviewed and asked about the source of your funds, just say the truth.
You might or might not be asked about the 2nd year's fees but it all depends on your answers to the interviewer/ECO's questions. Note that you're not required to show the 2nd year's fees in your account, just the 1st year (shown on your CAS) + maintenance.
Muol11:
the UKVI requires students to either be sponsored by a pare/legal guardian, a financial sponsor and self. So is it ok if I am receiving money for my course from a sibling (paid into my own account), does this count as self sponsorship? If my program is for 2 years, would I also be asked how I intend paying for the 2nd year based on this?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 8:20pm On Nov 28, 2020
Print from the day after because it's the 1st day of the count. Oct 31st - Nov 28 is good.
Muol11:
hi guys, I have a question about the 28 days proof of funds required for student visa application. If I've had the complete funds to show since the 30th of October, is it ok if I printed it out yesterday ( 27th of November)? Does the first day also count (30th of last month) and is it ok if it's assumed I printed it out on the 28th day? Someone with knowledge on this, please answer me, would be highly appreciative. Thanks in advance

Does the UKVI recognize affidavits for name discrepancies.

Say degree certificate carries HILLARY which ua wrong but passport carries HILARY which is right.
Would an affidavit be okay for this?
Help guys.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mimilyrics: 5:28pm On Nov 28, 2020
Yea but that's the next best option if the OP is pressed for time and form A is unavailable with no end in sight.
omopapa:
This is a good idea but there’s a huge gap between market exchange rate and that of form A
