Not sure there's a specific thread for that. You can just apply for jobs with employers who can sponsor you. If you get the job, they'll file for you. Make sure you read the requirements so that you're not lost at any point.
customised87:
I am sorry to divert your attention for a bit.

Does anyone here have an idea of how to go about applying for the available jobs in the newly introduced UK point based Immigration system?
Or is there a thread on it?

It shouldn't.
Zemanova:
@mimilyrics, I did my biometric on the 18th of December(standard) but I filled in 7th of January as the date of my arrival, I hope this won't be a problem in my application because it is likely I won't be getting a reply soon.

Yes, as long as it's not older than 31 days.
SeunOL:
Good morning everyone,
Please I’m submitting my statement of account this Wednesday for my CAS, can I still use the same statement when applying for my visa next week?
Thank you in anticipation.

No info on that yet and I doubt that planes will be stopped from coming in since they weren't stopped during the previous lockdowns.
graceodini:
Does it mean planes will not be allowed to come in and go out of England?

I haven't gotten any though I suspect that I might soon. Based on info available to me, the vaccine is safe but then people have their opinions formed and convincing them otherwise can usually be a tough one.

If you've got notes from your training on the 2 available vaccines (you should have gotten one if you work in a clinical setting), you can share with your spouse to allay her fears.

My mum was called to ask if she would be taking it but she's currently on holiday and has rescheduled the conversation for when she gets back so I can't say much for the jabs at the moment.
TRAY2:
Happy new year guys, We have been sent emails to book appointment for Covid Vaccination as a patient facing staff and high risk, My other half has advised against having the jab, I am indifferent towards it. Have you guys also received the emails, and have you started getting the jabs? What’s your take on it.I Don’t know the conspiracy theory about it altering our DNA’s.

Pls withdraw your application and resubmit on a date that falls within 31 days after your funds hit the 28-day mark. Your date of submission must always be after the funds have been in your account for at least 28 days.

This isn't the US visa thread. The UK doesn't use I20, what you have is the CAS which has important details for your visa application.
Whatever you pay for your tuition will be deducted from your tuition, not your maintenance. The maintenance is for your living costs, not tuition.
If you're to pay £14,276 and you pay £3,000 to your school, the amount you've paid will be deducted from the £14,276 that you're supposed to show for your fees, not from the £9,207 for maintenance.
£14,276 - £3,000 = £11,276 + £9,207 = £20,483.
Jolek15:
For the I20 only or for both i20 and visa interview.

Also the cost of the course is £14276 does that mean my bank statement has to contain £14276 + £9207?

The school also requires I pay a deposit of £3000 will it be deducted from the £9207 or (£14276 + £9207)
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mimilyrics: 7:18pm On Jan 04, 2021
The card details aren't usually available on the app and can't be added to Google Pay until the card has arrived and is activated.
Bourne007:
Go to Monzo app, accounts and add to Google pay / Apple wallet which ever you use.

You can then pay through that means.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mimilyrics:
It's available on Monzo Plus/premium which requires an account upgrade and costs £5 monthly.
dustydee:
With Revolut you get a virtual card. Check if Monzo has that feature too.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by mimilyrics: 6:52pm On Jan 04, 2021
No, it's not. At the point of your application, you were not married so you can't be said to have lied.
Towotowo:
Thank you very much. I hope me been single at the time i applied for my visa is not a problem at all.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by mimilyrics: 6:44pm On Jan 04, 2021
You need to have £9,207 + the balance of your tuition fees.
The £9,207 is for your 9 months' maintenance (for schools outside London) so even if you pay your tuition, you still need to show £,9207 as maintenance. If you pay any accommodation fees to your school, you can show £9,207 - the cost of 1 month maintenance but there must be evidence of the payment to your school via your CAS or receipt.

Jolek15:
Hi guys, the £9207 that is mandatory to be in my account, if I pay part of my tuition will it be deducted from the £9207 in my bank statement or it's still the £9207 that should be in my account when applying for visa.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mimilyrics: 6:41pm On Jan 04, 2021
Try revolut or Starling.
Chreze:
Greetings,

Abeg aside from this Monzo, any other account one can open online and get card delivered to the house. The Monzo guys are yet to deliver the card and quarantine go finish tomorrow. They initially said it will be delivered between 30th n 3rd January, later I saw there was an adjustment to 31st to 4th. I want to assume it’s the holiday plus COVID. Now they are saying if I don’t receive it I should reorder another card. That’s gonna be another days again and I don’t think I can wait. I need to do some grocery/other shopping on Wednesday. If there is any bank that will let me open an account and get card instantly. I really need to have an account set up and funds transferred. Please i need suggestion for any bank in Glasgow that is ok and reasonable. Thanks

Ejo help a brother.

She should apply as your dependant and include your marriage certificate in her application along with other required documents for dependants.
Check page 1 for information on the requirements.
Towotowo:
Good evening everyone,

I have a serious question to ask. I got my student visa 2 weeks ago and stated i am single. I just got married last week and i dont know how my wife is going to apply for her dependent visa. i will be travelling very soon and she is planning to come in at a later time though but i want to know how it can be done
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by mimilyrics: 6:32pm On Jan 04, 2021
He should contact UKVI to know what the holdup is.
berttrevor1:
Hello mate.... I’m asking this on behalf of a my bro.
He applied for uk student visa with his wife been dependent.
They both received email ‘a decision have been made’ his wife receive an email three days after that her visa is now available for pick up and they grant her visa.
It’s been two weeks now my brother hasn’t got email to pick up his visa.
Is this something to be worried about?
Ps: don’t mind the typo.

No as long as it's not past after your latest date of arrival.
starboychan:
Good afternoon all,

Please is there any problem with using the date after your course start date as the date you intended to arrival UK during visa application.

Thanks

If you applied using AccessUK, sign in to your account using the link from your sign-up email. Go to ‘Section 6: further actions’ to cancel your application.

If you applied using Visa4UK, fill in the form in the link below and send to the email address on the form: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-for-a-visa4uk-application-refund
KaBabs1:
I've checked severally for this cancelation link/option but I couldn't find it on the page, so I did the next best thing and sent a mail to nhsbsa.IHSreimbursements@nhs.net . We'll await their response regarding the issue. Thanks for your assistance. You're too kind.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by mimilyrics: 10:09pm On Jan 03, 2021
You don't need to submit your old passport along with your new passport, just uploading the visas and entry stamps is okay.
You don't need to explain this in your cover letter since you didn't get married as intended, your status on your last application was single, and it hasn't changed.
slimdolyin:
Good evening everyone,

I Will applying for my Visa application this week, I have 2 passport one as expired but I have visas and stamp on it.
Since I will be declaring my travel history, will I need to upload all the Visas/stamp and also join the old/new passport together for submission?
I was refused UK visit visa last year March but when applying for the visa I stated that I was going for sightseeing and also buy stuff for my upcoming wedding in August that same year. (The wedding was canceled)

Will I need a cover letter to explain the wedding palava or I should just click on SINGLE?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by mimilyrics: 10:00pm On Jan 03, 2021
Your questions was "why is there a myth...?" which means that it's a widely held belief (by everyone, not just applicants). That's what I answered to but now that you've clarified the people segment that you intended to refer to, the answer is still in my previous comment.

It might be as a result of the incorrect information touted by unscrupulous agents. Also, most applicants who feel so might feel that it might be seen as them having a support system/network in the UK which might encourage them to overstay their visas. That's my guess, I might be wrong though since I can't discern their inner thoughts and reasoning.
HYFR007:
You clearly do not understandimy question. Let me rephrase it in clear terms;

Why do some applicants that have relatives in the uk think/believe that their application would be refused if they declare their relatives.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by mimilyrics: 9:46pm On Jan 03, 2021
It's not a myth, it's about deception (intentional or honest mistake).
If an applicant "lies" that he/she has no relatives in the UK and UKVI finds out that the person actually lied, it counts as deception and non-disclosure of important information which automatically leads to a refusal. This is because it "might" imply that the applicant lied so as not to be seen as a high-risk applicant with no plans to return to Nigeria after the reason for the visa is concluded.

It's better to declare that you've got relatives in the UK in the appropriate application section; also good to be sure about that their visa status is not in the negative.
HYFR007:
Why is there this myth that home office refuses visa of applicants that has relatives in the uk.

He should log into his application to cancel, there should be a prompt for that. The refund is automatic for cancellations.
Yes, he should get the full amount with 28 working days but if it's not reverted within 28 days, he will need to contact UKVI chase it up.
KaBabs1:
Thanks a lot. How does one cancel an application? And will the full amount be reimbursed?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by mimilyrics:
He should cancel the application and start a fresh one.
He will get refund for the visa fee, in addition to the IHS paid since he hasn't registered his biometrics. Refunds take around 28 working days. If he doesn't get it by 28 working days, he'll need to contact UKVI.
KaBabs1:
Good evening Justwise , Mimilyrics , lagosismyhome , mattfeuter , tobexin , stenon and other well meaning contributors in the house.

My little cousin is in a dangerous predicament. He's currently applying for his Bachelors in a London uni and is almost done. Himself and I filled his application together while being guided from time to time by his elder brother who is already over there living with their mum. We have already filled the application form and his elder brother has paid the IHS fee using his card. However, before we paid the application fee, I asked my cousin to review the application for the final time. It was in the course of this that he discovered that 2 severe errors were made:

i. We stated that he'd already paid fees to the school for accommodation purposes (which is false)
ii. We stated that he has no relatives in the UK (which is false as his mom and cousin currently reside legally in the UK, albeit temporarily)

My cousin in the UK advised that we start a new application and see if we're able to link the IHS reference number we were issued from the abandoned application to the new one. But alas, there was no such option when we got to that stage.

This is where the problem lies, what is our fate at this stage, do we forfeit the amount already paid and pay a fresh fee? Is there anyway the IHS money paid can be refunded? If yes, how do we go about it?

For your student visa? The only family members whose statements you can use when applying for a UK student visa are your parents, you can't use your siblings' bank statements. Always check UKVI links for updates for any updates since so many subtle and pronounced changes are being made at this time.
If you were referring to the application of your brother whose statement was submitted, it's all good. Check the 1st page and his CAS statement for any other necessary documents.
