Well, whatever advice I give anyone will be within the written rules pertaining to what's asked and not what was obtainable; I'd rather err on the side of caution.

It seems to be a new one though.
Tobexin:
it is written on there but that is not the factual truth.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 11:36am On Nov 23, 2020
Oh okay.
Herbeolah1:
We already hired an immigration lawyer to that effect..
I'm asking questions cos I'm really new to this just to be sure the lawyer is acting right.

Thanks for you response
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mimilyrics:
Okay. See link and screenshot below for the info: https://www.gov.uk/book-theory-test
Tobexin:
it not true I have barely spent 4weeks in Uk when I applied for my provisional license and less than 90 days when I did my theory test.

TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 9:58am On Nov 23, 2020
Yes, you have to submit the application online. Your documents can also be submitted online. Your husband can upload documents from his end while you do same from yours too. Do you have your login details?
Herbeolah1:
Please am I to submit any application online here? I thought the lawyer would have done that.
Seriously I don't know much about this.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 9:47am On Nov 23, 2020
Affordable is relative. You can run your search (via Google or FindAMasters) with your financial budget as a filter.
Ocoraj:
Good morning everyone, nice page here, lots of testimonies. Please I am planning on going for masters in the UK, sept 2021. Am in the science field studied Microbiology, 2.1. Would be glad if I can get suggestions on affordable universities outside London. I was thinking of Coventry cos I have family there, but am open to suggestions. Also good courses too, especially in the health sector. I have long-term plans of utilising the 2yrs that will be given. Am married with a baby. Please I would really be glad if this is attended to. God bless you all.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 9:35am On Nov 23, 2020
You can get that too as it helps back up your claim that the child has been living with you without the father.
Herbeolah1:
I have submitted all other documents and my statement of account but the lawyer hasn't asked for a letter from her school yet.
Sure I will do that

Thanks your response was really helpful.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics:
You should do your English and TB tests before you submit online.
Your husband must show evidence that he meets the financial requirement of £18,600 plus an extra £3,400 for your child. He'll have to submit his 6-month payslips, employment contract and bank statement to this effect.
Herbeolah1:
I appreciate your interest in helping me in this confused state.

To be honest I and my hubby just meet not too long ago. And yes we got married the first time he came to Nigeria.
We have proof of communication to submit.

I'm just about the english test exams, TBT, biometrics submission of passport e.t.c to be done. Like when exactly will I have to do all that cos the immigration lawyer is not saying much.. he just said he will let me know when my visa is out.

I hope it can just happen like that and I get my visa.. lol
It's really confusing for real.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 8:41am On Nov 23, 2020
If you're in Nigeria, you give notice at the registry in Nigeria.
If you're in the UK, you need to give notice at your local register office at least 29 days before your wedding provided that you've lived there for at least 7 days. You can make an appointment online/phone. The register offices might be currently closed due to the Covid-19 lockdown though.
It costs £35 for each person (£47 for each person since either of you are from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland.
You'll need to have an interview with the registrar and you will only be allowed with your chosen date if Home Office doesn't investigate (you'll get a letter to this effect). If Home Office decides to investigate, you might have an additional 70 days or thereabouts before you can get married.
pamfad101:
good evening gurus in the house, fiance British, we plan on getting married next month, do I or fiance need to give notice of marriage, if yes where and how do we go about it? Thank you
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics:
Since you've got the consent letter from the father, you just need to add her birth certificate (showing both of you as the parents), passport, proof of funds in your account and a letter from the school to show that she's lived with you all through.
If you feel that there's anything the ECO might not understand on your application, use a cover letter to explain.
Herbeolah1:
Thanks for the response
I was never married to my baby dad and my daughter has been with me ever since. The dad knows about this and has given is consent.

The immigration lawyer working with my hubby asked me to get my daughter a Nigerian passport asap. Does that mean she's going with me to the UK or her passport I just needed for documentation? Cos I and hubby talked about coming to pick her later.

And the last time I spoke with the lawyer he said I shouldn't worry that he will let me know when my visa is ready.

I just want to be sure if this is truly the right process.

Sorry for the too many questions
Thanks All
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mimilyrics: 8:26am On Nov 23, 2020
Hopefully, the lockdown doesn't leave them with a backlog of applications as it did then.

It's true. You must have lived in England, Wales or Scotland for at least 185 days in the last 12 months before the day you take your theory or driving test.
famzynet:
I did less than a month ago. BRP was sent back in about a week and 2 days later I got the provisional licence.

How true is it that one must have been in the UK for 6months to write theory driving test?
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 6:58pm On Nov 22, 2020
You will need a divorce certificate (if you were married before) or death certificate (in case of the father's death), a legal document granting you custody of your child or the consent of the child's father for you to take him/her to the UK) and any documents (letter from the child's school, doctor etc.) showing that you've been solely responsible for the child or that the child has been living with you ever since....
Herbeolah1:
Good day All
Thanks for the great job you're doing on this platform
I just need a clearance cuz I'm a little bit confused right now

I and my husband got married in Lagos last month, his from EU but based in London UK. we have a marriage certificate ready so he has gone back to the UK to process my spouse visa but he is doing that with the help of an immigration lawyer.

The lawyer didn't ask me for much he only asked me to send..
our marriage certificate
Details about my parents,
my daughter's birth certificate,
my passport data page
my statement of account and
my daughter passport data page too that's all.

So I don't know if all this will do.

Note.. my daughter is not for my husband, I already had her before we meet.

Please I need your kind clearance on this just to know we're on the right path cos I can't wait to be with my hubby.

Thanks.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 6:44pm On Nov 22, 2020
Visiting visa - this will be just for short visits though. In this case, to file from Nigeria will require the spouse in the UK to hold permanent residence (British citizenship or ILR) or any of the visas that allow the UK spouse to work and live in the UK (ie. Tier 1, 2).

Another option will be to get into the UK legally through another route that allows working, living and studying in the UK switch to a dependant spouse visa based on discretionary grounds but that can be a whole lot of money and uncertainty involved.

Just give the person your login details to enable the person pay with his/her card.
Hope the person is someone you trust so that a fraudulently acquired card isn't used to make the payment.

Depends on the airline. British Airways & Virgin Atlantic don't require it. Someone also mention that Turkish Airline doesn't require it.

Check how much you've got to pay here: https://www.immigration-health-surcharge.service.gov.uk/checker/type

The exact amount in naira will be dependent on the rate your bank uses for the transaction as the cost will be charged in $.

TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mimilyrics: 10:46am On Nov 21, 2020
Well, I don't know if that's the case but you may have a point there. Most of the cases I know of applied in England and were processed by Swansea.
Anyway, anyone applying shouldn't have any immediate travel needs incase of processing delays (which may extend the 2-week turnaround) as TheGuyFromHR mentioned.
Tobexin:
here in northeast it only took two weeks to receive the one I did for a friend, a non British passport holder! I think it differs from one DVLA offices to another.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mimilyrics: 10:15am On Nov 21, 2020
As at July/August, it took between 4-8 weeks (for those without a UK passport) due to the backlog from the 1st lockdown.
It was faster for UK passport holders because the picture/signatures from their UK passports were used.
Not sure what the current timeline is though.
Tobexin:
nobody how backlogged they are it doesn’t take more than 14days.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 10:10am On Nov 21, 2020
True. Someone got a refusal mail 26 days after the application was refused so your best bet is to wait to pick up your passport to check for the vignette.
alert20:
Really?? Na wao, so even if you didn't receive refusal mail, make person no too happy until you open your passport chai
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 8:35am On Nov 21, 2020
Yes, it is. Some refusal letters are sent days or weeks after passport pickup.

Yes, your son and husband's funds can be in your account for their student dependant applications.

Okay, pls what strong compelling reason would you suggest? My husband can’t come because his personal accounts were frozen except his company account. Any possibility of him applying with i and son with my personal account?

Yes, just select the child dependant option instead of partner dependant.

Yes, as long as the funds in it are held in the manner prescribed by UKVI.

@mimilyrics, please for one presently legally residing outside Nigeria and is eligible to apply for the Tier 4 Visa in the country of residence, can the person combine the bank statement from the bank in the country of residence and the one from the bank in Nigeria and submit as POF, both bank statements bear the same name?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 1:23pm On Nov 09, 2020
Based on my experience, when a FD investment is terminated, the account is closed and funds deposited in the individual's regular account and if that's what happens in your case, you'll need to start your 28 day count in 2-3 days.
If the same FD account will still be in use by you after the FD ends (if it's allowed by your bank), then get a regular statement for the 28 days before your application as the FD letter won't cut it.
WestMan55:
Ok, I invested it for 180days and it’s tenor ends in 2 days time Bdw I opted out of Auto Renewal.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 12:39pm On Nov 09, 2020
No. You can only use investment account as long as the funds are immediately accessible.
Fixed deposits are usually not accessible before a particular date in the future so you should move your funds to a regular savings or current account from which you can immediately access the funds.

This is because Nigerian banks auto-renew fixed deposits on a rolling basis after the initial deposit period runs out except you terminate it, at which point, your funds go back to being accessible.

WestMan55:
Hello Guys pls confirm if anyone has used a letter of fixed Deposit investment of 2months from Page financial to apply for UK student visa.
Please I need a valid response cos the Funds there is already more than 28 days thanks
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
1. Check how much you'll pay via https://www.immigration-health-surcharge.service.gov.uk/checker/type

2. The day after the deposit hits or count backwards from your application date as long as the end of the 28 days is within the 30 days prior to your application.

3. Yes, you can as long as the funds have been in your account for at least 28 days before your online application.

4. Yes it is; I'm not sure about request process with other banks but I know that you can request online with GTBank and it comes pre-signed.

5. It's currently N503.610 to £1. You can check https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/ for the daily rates.

wolepopo:
Good morning gurus/house,
Please don't mind me if I sound naïve with my questions...
1. What is the likely IHS surcharge for a 2-year Masters programme, applicant travelling alone?
2. When does the 28-day stipulation for account statement start counting? Let me paint a scenario, i just funded my account 2 weeks ago and waiting for another two weeks to apply/request for CAS, tuition deposit paid, TB test end of this week...at what time will the 28 days start counting for visa application proper?
3. I have funds in my two accounts, can i submit two statements that add up to the required/sufficient amount? Both statements are in my name but from different banks?
4. Can i submit an electronically generated statement or it must be signed at the bank?
5. Does anyone have any idea of likely GBP/NGN rate that is applicable as at today?
Kindly assist with answers...sorry, if all these had been discussed in previous threads...abeg...
