Hi Justwise and everyone. I'd be renting accommodation close to school but I've been looking at properties with tenancy should start from Sept 1. I'll be staying with a friend from late August when I arrive till Sept 1st when tenancy ought to start but further search, payment and paperwork will be done on my arrival. Is it okay to input my friend's address(my temporary address for about 1-2 weeks) or the school address? Thank you. |

Nothing is assured. The school I thought I'd have no issue getting into was the one I had issues getting into. It's always better to apply to more than one to give you a wide range of choices. I applied to 2 courses(MBA & MS HR since those were my specialization areas) in 3 schools, I got rejected for MBA in 2 and declined for the HR in 1. I got accepted for MBA in 1 and HR in 1. I picked my best option and I'm glad about my choice. I suggest that you apply to other schools but you might not be able to get scholarships(if you are looking at that) because of the timing of your application. But then, you might still be in luck depending on the school. I wish you the best. samakinfol: I applied to just one school as i was assured it will be easy and the course was related to my undergraduate degree, i think i will have to apply to others, well since application is free. |

How did you make your payment? Did you use a Nigerian issued card? Mzstephh: Hey dear, yes oh they said 15 days and I didn't pay for priority service. I assumed that in this case it would just probably fall in line with the previous 10 day rule but it's like they have become strict. Visa fee was 448 dollars and IHS usually 150 pounds per year (dollar equivalent). Say if your'e going for a five year course would be 150 x 5, if it's a one year course it would be 150 pounds. I donno why you couldn't pm me, i'll check. cheers.xx |

Yes, you'd have issues convincing the entry clearance officer about the sponsorship except it's an international company. I had the same issue too when my school refused to process my CAS because the CAS Team didn't go through the letter as they just assumed it was a non-international company. It took the grace of God that got me to ask them for evidence that the company didn't meet the T4 guidance, my pointing it out to them and showing them the company's international addresses and my citing the T4 guidance to get them give the letter a thorough look before they processed my CAS. So I'd advise you as @justwise did me when the situation happened, get the cash in your account if yu can convince the company. Shammak: Oh.. Great! I've got no problem with the sponsorship letter. Thanks so much bruh
No, not an international organization |

I'm still waiting for the CAS number to be allocated. I should have it by nextweek. I'll know once I have it. justwise: That is good news then, do they backdate your CAS or they gave you a current date? |

Hi Justwise, My school just replied my mail. They said that it was an error on their part. The company meets the Tier 4 sponsorship rules. I just completed my pre-CAS. Thanks so much for your prompt responses. justwise: Well established federal or state government scholarship program will qualify but local government will not be on that list. |

Thanks @justwise. While I await the company's response, I'm also checking up the status of other scholarships/funding i applied for. When they say 'home government', is it inclusive of government parastals, Federal, state and local governments? I'm asking because what qualifies might be different from what they want. That way I can eliminate the unacceptable funding sources from the pool. justwise: Get the money paid into your account else you will struggle to convince your school about that company |

Hi Justwise/Everyone. I sent the letter from my sponsor to my school and I was told that they can't assign me a CAS number because my sponsor is a business and can't sponsor me as per the T4 rules. My sponsor is a duly registered company in/and operates on 2 continents and 2 countries or more. Their contacts are even on the letter. I've already replied my school with highlighted screenshots of the T4 guidance that deals with this (as my sponsor qualifies based on the T4 guide) and google search results of the company. Has anyone been in this kind of situation before? How was it resolved? What else can I do? I need all the info/help I can get right now. Thank you. justwise: That will do, there is no specific format. |

I think you're better off having the money in your account. That's the easiest and least complicated way for you. if not, you'd need your birth certificate listing your mum as your mum, a letter stating that she's sponsoring you and granting you permission to use her account and all documents that prove that she's the same person who's listed as your mum on your birth certificate. This could include divorce/marriage certificates, change of name documents, affidavits etc. Question1: Good evening...
@Justwise, worry and et al, please I have a question concerning the Maintenance Fund. my mom recently divorced my dad in Nigeria and remarried in the UK but she now bears her father's name not her new husband's name.
The issue now is she wants me to use her UK Bank account for the 28 days maintenance bearing in mind that we don't bear same surname as she bears her father's name on her bank Account.
Please should I go ahead to keep the money in her account and use her as my sponsor because its almost impossible for her to wire the money into my account in Nigeria due to the charges.
please help me throw more light |

1. Yes. 2. No. You will pay a health surcharge to use the UK health system. 3. Your school will have to state how your English proficiency was considered satisfactory. But if you have a prior degree from a majorly English-speaking country, you don't need a test. If not, you need the ielts test. quille11: Good day everyone,
I am a prospective applicant for a master program in UK. I need clarity to the following questions. 1. Does the Tier 4 UK visa guarantees the 20hr working hours for international students? 2. Can one use the Nigerian health Insurance policy when applying for visa? 3. Do I need to submit an English Test result at the embassy even when I have been exempted from doing such by schools I intend to apply?
Your sincere answers will be appreciated.
Thanks |

LaaJiblik: 1. Click on this Link:
https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa/family-members https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-for-dependants-of-uk-visa-applicants-tiers-1-2-4-5
2. Take your time to navigate the web pages
3. Where in the UK will you be studying? London? You require GBP 845 x 9 = GBP 7,605 per dependant. For two children its = GBP 7,605 x 2 = GBP 15,210 ONLY.
Are you going with your wife? That is another GBP 7,605
Plus the 15,210 = GBP 22,815 Only. Total for Dependants = 22,815 ONLY.
I assume you have already settled your own school fees, and shown your own Maintenance money yeah?
Outside of London, you must have at least £680 per month to support yourself
For example, a Tier 4 (General) applicant who is applying for leave to study in London at the same time as their spouse and 2 children would need to show that they have £845 per month for their spouse and a further £845 per month for each of their children, in addition to £1265 per month required for their own support. In total the family will require evidence that they hold £3800 in available funds up to a maximum of 9 months (3 x £845 = £2535 + £1265). https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/603815/PBS_dependent_guidance_Jan_2017.pdf Page 16
Did you say you want to go for an LLM? That is 1 year yeah? |

Oh! Okay. Thanks so much. I will send it to my school as soon as I collect it. Should it be addressed to my school or just 'to whom it may concern' since that's what I'd be using for my visa application? And is there a format for addressing the letter? So I can let them know. I'll keep you posted as to how it goes. PS: This thread has been so informative and I've learnt so much in just a few days of stumbling on it. justwise: No you need to send it to your school as part of your admission package and they will include that in your CAS |

Not yet. I won't be getting it till like May 25. When applying for the visa, do I just go with one addressed to the BHC or to whom it may concern? Do I need any explanation as to why I'm being sponsored? Because I honestly just sent a request to the company and they accepted to. Thank you. justwise: Did you send the sponsorship letter to your school? |

Hi @justwise, @Spikec.
Kudos for the good job you guys have been doing. I've actually followed the thread from part one. Been up most nights trying to absorb all the necessary info.
I'm on the September 2017 student intake and I'll be fully sponsored by a multinational company. My letter should be ready in a few weeks. my CAS is currently being processed. Pls are there any guidelines to follow? I noticed that most of the other posters here mainly applied using their own accounts or their parents.
There's been one UK visit visa refusal but I've been to the US after the refusal and still have a valid US visa.
Thank you. |
