I agree sir, but a lot of ‘working’ marriages these days are not really working as it seem. Most of them are just hanging on because of the benefit’ attached.. I’m not a misogynist, but bro, MOST of issues in marriage are caused by women.. a woman has what it takes to make marriage work compared to man. same thing applies to boyfriend girlfriend’ relationship. The girl has what it takes to make it work. I've seen this happen, back then in ph, a friend of mine always enters an agreement with a lady, documents signed and all. He gets her pregnant, pays for a good apartment for her, puts her on a monthly stipend and after the birth and the girl finishes weaning the baby. He takes the baby to his Mom and pays the girl off back in 2012 he paid off his last baby mama with 2m. He has 4 children from different women with this arrangement. And my boy is living the life, though I will not personally take that route to have my own children.

That's certainly an arrangement, which is transactional as monetary terms have been discussed and agreed upon but even with those signed documents, the birth mothers of those children can legally have claims on those children if they go to court because no Nigerian law supports buying off a child.

Your friend is emotionally cold and those four children would certainly not be well adjusted based on my clinical experience.

Sad.....they should work out co-parenting their children well.

Which omugwo? Should the daughter get married, who can stop the biological mother from being part of the wedding arrangements? That the daughter lives with the father, does not mean she has no or will have no relationship with her biological mother.

Please guys my mom is suffering from bipolar disorder. This makes her to behave and talk anyhow. I've told my dad to take her to a psychiatrist/psychologist but he refused. I don't know if it's because he doesn't have the money. When it starts we always take her to the village where they give her local herbs which makes it go for a while and then it will come back. This has been happening for 4 years now. Please we are tired of this sickness. What can we do to bring a permanent end to it.

I would because I have done such. I used to have a neighbour, a Nigerian woman with their 2 daughters who lived in the same apartment block with me. She relocated from Nigeria to the UK with her 2 children on a work visa last year August and was so lively until her husband joined them in January, this year and things changed.

One could easily observe the change in the woman and their children as they became withdrawn. The woman was collecting beatings and did well in covering it up, twice I have seen their Pastor and his wife visit them for reconciliation. I had also observed the kids lurking around the lobby looking scared while their parents were fighting inside the apartment with music on.

I finally did call the Police to report the man and the impact his presence has been on his wife and their children. The Police came but the woman covered up for her husband and they left without arresting him. What finally nailed him and got him arrested was the school their children attended finding out that he beats the children as they had different ages of bruises in hidden parts of their bodies and the children recounting to their school counselor how their father also regularly beats their mother.
