Besides, depression is a serious mental disease that is seriously underestimated in this country. Suicide thoughts and attempts most times are symptoms of underlying serious mental health issues and not necessary due to lack of success, material possessions or affection.

Well captured because we tend to think that with material wealth, the individual can't be having suicidal ideation as most do not understand that mental health issus is no respecter of class.

Dealing with suicidal ideation is a very dark and lonely space to be in, where one has become numbed to self-preservation and sees death as the ONLY way out, the exit into a space where what weighs them would no longer have hold on them. As sleep is luring, so is suicide as it presents the calming scenes of floating away.

Unfortunately, thinking about suicide tends to give a sense of control as the mind has convinced itself that it has the POWER to switch off and WHEN.

Some Universities do so, mine was contacted directly by the University as the University had requested for my referee's phone number and official email address (no gmail nor yahoomail). I just got an email notification from the University that they have contacted my referee and received reference from her.......the content of the reference I still do not know till this day but am glad the University offered me the course I applied for.
