Everything about it (story, naming of characters, drawing of characters etc) was done under DC before DC let it go since it negates the portrayal of its superheroes (parody of Justice league). So, everything about it is still related to DC. The only thing is that Amazon ended up making it a live series.

In The Boys we can see how the American government and Vought company were doing the power tussling and manipulating stuffs just for who to be the boss. I love it!

That homelander guy is depraved and bad just like injustice superman. He is a mix of Comedian in brute force and ozymandias in thoughts. That series is one hell of a snyderesque Watchman with real consequence.

Actually, The boys is a DC comic product. The comics was under DC imprints before DC let it go.
