I always find it funny when I get mentioned with these type of comments. I don't go round saying it will fail, everybody and their mother know my issue with WB, DCEU and their rushing & executive antics. It's not like I actively root for them to fail, I know not to watch their trailers because they'll hype somebody to death & may leave me wanting when I watch the film. But, they saved themselves with me with WW (I would have simply seeded all their films, if they had effed that up). Aquaman did not suck. It was an entertaining film, pure popcorn film with stunning visuals & cheese, I enjoyed every moment of it, that I've already seen it twice. Jason Momoa looked like he was having the time of his life. Oh and Amber Heard wasn't even remotely overtly sexualised as she usually is in her other films. That kiss though, daaayyyuuumm.

Instead of y'all going round actively seeking trouble with the whole DCEU vs MCU palava - don't even start it with me today, 2 of my WhatsApp groups won't shut up about it during the weekend. You'll be ignored. Oh and to the ones who keep looking for wahala in the MCU thread, give it a rest. Grow the hell up. Remember, there's a reason why I haven't been active on this thread, person don tire with the usual wahala.

I have seen similar excuses from MCU trolls crawling all over Facebook and Reddit whenever Aquaman box office numbers is brought up.

But...but.. Aquaman had no competition yen yen yen..

Ask yourself how many December movies has made over $1b in Hollywood asides Avatar and Star Wars

Ask yourself would you have been able to predict Aquaman hitting $1b long before the movie was released.

You guys talk as if every December release is a certified billion dollar earner.

If Marvel get liver they should release a movie on December 2019, 2020 or 2021.

If someone told you 10 years ago that a movie featuring Batman and Superman wouldn't crack a billion but Aquaman released in December would do it.... Would you have believed that.


Stop downplaying Aquaman box office success.

There is no such thing as December favoured it or it had no competition.

All that excuses is pure trash.

Aquaman exceeded every box office expectations.
Don't forget that this is first DC movie coming after JL flopped and generated so much negative buzz.

8 months ago very few people gave a damn about Aquaman and now it's crushing box office and it's success is a fluke.

spiderverse is an animation it can't do much. I m talking about real movies. DC are just lucky. This will never happen again next DCEU movies are surely going to fail e.g shazam competing with both Capt marvel and mother of all movies avengers endgame it will not survive. Joker movie will surely fail, birds of trash and WW84 will fail too. Because captain Marvel will surely do better than WW.
