Else i see Warner butchering the entire Dceu and rebo0ting it with J Phoenix joker universe. Shazam could be reworked to fit that universe if Aquaman fails to meet WB's expecti0ns.

The truth is that WB did not have a plan for a Universe until after Man of Steel. Aquaman is a daring move, I think the movie will do well because it is going to break new grounds in underwater CGI scenes. This will resonate well with the film industry.

WB had no plans for a DC Cinematic universe until MOS failed to hit a billion dollar at the B. O. Russell Crowe said this when he hinted at having signed a multi picture deal to play Jor El. I think Snyder was the one who came up with the idea for it for WB.

This is not like old days when WB only made Batman and Superman movies.

Things have changed.

They are finally building a cinematic universe based on DC comics which is great.

And you can't have a cinematic universe without making movies for unknown characters.

Aquaman is not even an unknown character to start with.
He is an A-list character in DC comics and he's already popular even before Justice League.

How can you build a cinematic universe without making movies for characters not named Batman or Superman.

Like how is that even possible.

Unless you want a return to the old days of Batman and Superman movies.....then we wouldn't even see Wonder Woman on big screen not to mention Aquaman or Flash.

Black Manta has always been black, has always been named Black Manta and Yahya Abdul-Mateen doesn't even bear a remote resemblance to Chadwick Boseman. am a DC fan boy at heart. Just n0t a fan of WB. I aint jumping ship. Me spewing negativity is as a result of what WB keeps dishing out. They treat DC properties like they've no faith in them. They are m0re free with the animati0n department and the tv shows, n0w l0ok at the outc0me.

The only thing Aquaman copied from Marvel is Namor.
Arthur is just a rip off of that character, the only difference is Arthur is much more famous than Namor.

Atlantis was not invented by Marvel and it is definitely not a rip off of Wakanda.

It is based on Greek mythology.

Aquaman movie is basically a comic book adaptation.

And yes Aquaman was invented 25 years before Black Panther.

Therefore Aquaman as Black Panther underwater is wrong on so many levels.

The side villain even has the name 'black manta', the previous release was titled 'black panther'. Our villain even does the wakandan salute in0rder to use his suit. Aside, in black panther the villain was the cocky one, in this, it's the hero that is. In Panther, so many tribes make up wakanda, in Aquaman, so many tribes make up atlantis.

I would have agreed you only if I've not seen the reaction from the second trailer which got folks interested and was overwhelmingly positive. Plus, all other DCEU failures had one or two controversies during shooting. So far the production process for Aquaman has been smooth. And besides, what do you mean by no A-listers. Nicole Kidman, Willem Defoe anybody? Though their A list status might be questionable, but they have enough record/acting chops to draw in a crowd. Even Amber Heard was somewhat sexualized to bring in young male folks and at the same time had kickass abilities same level with Arthur which might appeal to young women/feminists. A very good marketing strategy. The film might fail critically but rest assured it's a box office success.

alot of people loved the JL trailers, WW had production issues but it still did well.

It's very obvious few people care abt the m0vie or even kn0w an Aquaman m0vie is coming to even care. And, JL failed to present the character in an interesting light to audiences. Many people didn't see the value the character added to the league or film. The character isn't interesting to say the least, the actor is just bland and basically playing Khal Drogo. There's no A lister in the cast. The storyline isn't exciting. There is n0thing new in the film. Its like black panther in the sea and pirates of the carribean without Jack Sparrow. Again, WB's track record? They are bound to screw s0mething up. I for one have lost interest in the Dceu.

i knew this right after BvS failed with the critics. It was evident. I was even surprised WB let Snyder go on with JL. Part of me secretly doubted whether Zack actually directed the entire film or if Joss was on the scene right from Pre producti0n. We kn0w that wasn't Chris Terrio's script and it was Whedon's, but the movie, who really directed it? Zack and Joss or just Joss?

Compare that final battle with doomsday with the short 6 minutes final battle in BVS, you will see the big difference.

I didn't criticise BVS much but after watching Death Of Superman I have to admit that BVS should have done better.

Death Of Superman gave us the true, comic accurate Doomsday.

The Doomsday in BVS was just dull and less fierce.
The final battle with Doomsday in BVS was also too short and less intense.

I don't know why DC cartoons keeps shining in the areas where the movies fail.

Despite being a Dc fan, the 1st superhero character that got me into the c0micbo0k superhero geekdom was Spiderman by the great Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. God rests their souls. Tribute goes to the legend who made my childhood, Stan Lee.

i think it would've been a disaster had WB released w0nder w0man 2 the same year Captain Marvel releases. Too many c0mparis0ns to be made, and the Box office and critics are kn0wn to favor the marvel side m0re. So it would be a colossal failure if WW 2 is to be released 8 m0nths after captain marvel. The fans would be m0re interested in the film n0t doing well or outperforming Captain Marvel just as they were hoping ven0m failed. The c0micb0ok fand0m can be toxic.
