Warner Bros. are just too greedy. Because of the BO projections of Aquaman, they've started making plans for an Aquaman 2 just like they did wonder woman. What abt the ever slowing Flash film or stiff Man of Steel sequel or The Batman? That was 0ne of my reasons wanting Aquaman to fail. WB won't make decisi0ns creatively but think how to pluck m0ney fr0m that DC tree.

In terms of BO, THE ONLY underperformer DC has is justice league and that was due to WB's greed for turn outs at the cinema and cutting scenes that could have brought people back to cinemas. With the speed in which the Dceu came, had warner n0t fidgetted or bec0me all too greedy, their 1st 5 films could have been m0re than 3.7 billion. But i guess we'll never kn0w.

Not only did they buy tickets, they bought so much that WB made 3.7 billion dollars with DCEU first five movies.

Also BVS wasn't a generic action flick.

At the end of the day critics thrashed these movies because it was too depressing, dark and gritty.

n0w u get me. That's why i say critics aren't the go to squad for films being g0od in its sense of entertainment or significance. They have this idea that super hero films are meant to be cart0onish. I thank the fox films for having the balls and bringing abt an era of superhero films being agenda based.

yea, that was me and is still me. Suicide squad like i maintained in my earlier resp0nse to you, could have made a billi0n had it n0t been for WB. Alot of scenes were cut, changed and the story was meh. Had those things n0t been present, you won't be here trying to feed ur ego by quoting me. N0w, show me where i said infinity war would be a flop...pls. I was a supporter of infinity war b4 its release. My only fear then which i remember posting either here or the Mcu thread was its handling of the villain, which marvel did handle well. Infinity war, the winter soldier, thor are my favorite marvel films so far.

Harley Quinn was always light, crazy and fun. We already saw that in Suicide Squad.

Wonder Woman 1984 will never use the Marvel formula.
The tone will be just like the first movie, WB is not crazy enough to change something that already worked the first time.

am n0t speaking of the films just being lighthearted mind you. Am speaking of the films bearing deeper meanings than it been just pop corn flicks. WW was a generic film that had n0thing new to it. I think the only reas0n it wasn't trashed was the feminist thing it had going which to be truthful wasn't even present. The film barely showed the essence of why the world needed w0nder w0man, it only pushed to audiences lungs that they needed w0nder w0man. If you call that s0mething great, then i guess WB going generic is the way to go for you. Shazam needs to be lighthearted, true but the film also needs to have meaning and a sense to it. I trust the director, but WB? They'll ruin it. And, we d0n't want a harlequinn m0vie. Seriously. That's catw0man sloppy. If a film like that manages to be a hit at the BO expect trashs like that henceforth.

Who is talking abt Stan Lee? Nolan was also an executive producer on BvS. But that doesn't mean he had a say in it. Stan Lee is only credited based on his input on the characters n0t like he did any or much work in getting the films to producti0n. At best, he was only a c0nsultant, s0mething N0lan served as in MOS yet credited as executive producer.

that's because it is a marvel product na. It doesn't mean Marvel studios had a hand in it. Did deadp0ol list kevin feige as its executive producer? Unless it does, the marvel entertainment there is just to credit marvel for being the creator of the character. Its like the Dc logo seen in the Dc films, it doesn't mean the films are produced by the Dc entertainment banner, they are only listed cos they are in charge of the characters n0t the producti0n of the m0vies. But Marvel studios on the other hand run by Kevin feige is a different case. They produce the films and are resp0nsible for the c0ntents, disney distributes. Go check x men and deadp0ol again. N0tice Feige never claimed glory for deadp0ol or even pr0m0ted it like he does the Mcu films.

I can bet Aquaman will be just like Wonder Woman: a direct story with no intellectual stimulation. The only angles I see James Wan making an impact are in areas of visuals (Yes, I love the wild fluid-like colors), animation and perhaps, technical stunts. They should rather give me stimulating and unforgettable superhero movies, but alas WB is no longer in that business.

That kinda business is not profitable bro...why would WB do it? Critics praising the film is a turn off for me already and its evident its another Wonder woman in waiting. Note the critics praised it as the best Marvel movie? which is funny.

But Critics reviews are very important because it will affect box office performance.

BVS was headed for a billion dollars after a massive opening weekend before critics thrashed it and ticket sales reduced.

The only time critics reactions did not affect a DC movie was with Suicide Squad.

Word of the mouth from critics is very crucial cuz it can make or mar a movie.
It will only take a miracle to survive it like Suicide Squad did and Venom too.

I may end up not liking Aquaman but I need critics to praise the film especially when you consider how much DC movies have suffered at the hands of critics.

I don't want critics to praise nothing. I want the films to prove themselves as cult classics irrespective of the critics word. And don't tell me there weren't films that were critically acclaimed that did bad at the BO...

Left to me, Warner bros aren't ready for a hit yet.

there's one thing abt critical acclaim. You praise or hype a film too much, you leave its fans no chance to enjoy a film without them raising expectati0ns towards those films. you can go back to the preliminary pages of this thread, no one ever said Infinity war would be a flop. And c0nsidering the return of suicide squad at the BO, had the m0vie delivered on the joker, been true to the t0ne it set out for initially, presented Batman in s0me highlight scenes, g0ne with a much better villain, it would've hit a billi0n. WB only wanted to go the guardians of galaxy way and it did SLIGHTLY guardians of the galaxy m0ney at the BO.

what's the shit the guy's saying? There's no doubt that no matter how underwhelming the dceu has been in terms of m0ney for WB, it also made loads of m0ney for them. I don't think if we were to count the BO performance of the 1st five Mcu films, they didn't sum up to 3 billi0n dollars in revenue.

H0nestly, am n0t sold with J Mom0a playing Aquaman/the King of Atlantis. He's used to playing brutes or henchmen, Aquaman isn't that. I got that picture after JL. He was all thr0ugh the film a henchman to the league. He was barely n0ticeable. I bet Patrick Wilson is going to carry this m0vie on his head. As for Amber Heard, that's an0ther case entirely.
