Ammishaddai: Oga, you failed to understand that the average Nigerian(whether Muslim or Christian)is religious not because of hypocrisy, but because the foundation of his faith is established on the existence and manifestations of the power of gods in the form of idols. And whether you choose to acknowledge it or not isn't a matter we ought to dispute because each and every person has his own twisted interpretation of what is true . Baba you don go out of point. No one is talking about religion in its entirety but the average Nigerian being religious. They aren't. Only few are. And just cause they dress the part doesn't mean they act the part |
Christianity Etc › Re: Nigeria’s Growing Atheist Community by Minemrys: 10:39am On Nov 27, 2021 |
Ammishaddai: So because they're not meeting up with your expectations makes them hypocritical? Now I get where you're coming from... Not my expectations. The truth. I don't stay in a cave, I have been close to lots of people, many who practice religion just for the sake of people saying hey, he is a Christian or Muslim, some who practice one then at different times practice 3 more, some who just go by the name without believing. Those who are actually religious are few. And you rarely see them online bashing other faiths. Superstition is different from being religious or spiritual. |

Ammishaddai: Oga, I don't really care what you are right now , so let's toss that out of this conversation and face the facts here : Nigeria doesn't have a tangible population that's large enough to be called "atheists" talk more of have a growing number . Why ? Because the average Nigerian is religious and superstitious , and a society that's led by those two systems of belief are always going to be predominantly religious in whatever context you place it . And my issue here is on the word religious. Nigerians aren't religious, just superstitious and hypocritical. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Nigeria’s Growing Atheist Community by Minemrys: 9:49am On Nov 27, 2021 |
Ammishaddai: Oga, every religion has adherents who have doubts, but that doesn't mean they're stupid enough to say they are atheists . Stupid enough. What makes you think they are stupid? Like seriously, if you ever read the religious books, you would find a lot of stories in them ridiculous. People turning to salt, animal talking, people rising from the dead, a baby talking. Just cause you have your faith doesn't mean another is stupid. Plus, I am not an atheist. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Nigeria’s Growing Atheist Community by Minemrys: 9:42am On Nov 27, 2021 |
Ishilove: Don't use that one to disturb us. If you people like you can live as godless, stiff-necked heathens that's una business. We have more pressing issues troubling us in this country. And what have those that are godful in Nigeria done to better it's society? Build more mosques and churches of various denominations and pit themselves against each other? Yea, right. Many wars in this world started as a result of religion, and the world is yet to be a better place. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Nigeria’s Growing Atheist Community by Minemrys: 9:36am On Nov 27, 2021 |
Ammishaddai: Keep dreaming . The average Nigerian is religious so it's only God that knows where you got this figure from . Don't be sure. Many Nigerians are just practicing religion on face value and still question the existence of a supreme being. There are many, so just speak for yourself. There are hypocrites, the skeptics, the spiritual, the average Nigerian isn't religious. If they were, your country would be a lot better. |

SMUAG: I don't see heavy cgi in Superman movie that makes it too expensive for WB to green light a sequel. What about other cbm characters that share similar features with him and movies about them are being released yearly? Are they too expensive too. The only issue I see is, to get a perfect or near perfect script/story/movie for our Boy Scout is just much too difficult because of his power level - you make him more "earth-related" they complain, you make him universal they still complain. And that's just one of many reasons I still respect and love Zack's MoS. It is never easy to do a Superman movie, if it's easy many great directors will never want to choose Batman or other minor characters over Superman when the opportunity present itself to them to make any DC cbm of their choice. Superman is the big gun there. Bro, it's neither too hard nor too expensive. What you need is a good script, WB has always been in a rush to dish out Superman films without caring about the script or been sure what they want from the film or the directorial vision. They don't even know much about the character to begin, hence they throw large sums into average scripts that end up not selling the project. Is Superman and Lois too expensive for TV? Weren't Superman powers portrayed in variety in a few films like Eternals, Endgame etc? Was it hard to do or expensive? Let's stop giving WB excuses. Superman works in the comics, why not in movies? He has good villains that challenge him either mentally or physically, what he needs is the right script, right direction and vision not just a cash grab. They were able to do Shazam and now black Adam right, so what gives? Check the Superman films that have been done, they've all had repetitive villains, how do you expect it to sell? That's why I keep saying redundancy and repetition kills a product. Let them continue with Batman and keep milking the character. |

TheKingIsHere: Dr strange 2 is undergoing massive reshoots but everyone is doing like say nothing happen
If a DCEU movie undergoes a minor reshoot, people will be lamenting and will not let us hear word again That's cause MCU films end up appeasing its audience and Dceu films that end up having extensive reshoots end up as disasters critically, suicide squad, justice league, BvS, WW 1984 |

Nickshrapnel: Some feminist are against the idea of calling trans female women, the trans community called them transphobic and labeled them TERF. Even I don’t consider transgenders whatever they transfer to, if you’re born with a penis, you will always be a male to me, unless the person is intersex. Like seriously. Right now, I wonder when incest would be considered a normal thing by rights activists. We are witnessing the beginning of the fall of civilization. |

abduleez1: These actors were perfect.
I don't understand the need to always have new actors for new shows. Except they are portraying different years of their life. Since they are Dead and are ghosts sef, I see no sense behind this. Ppl familiar with the Xters can expatiate. To differentiate them. |

I think the language I mainly the same. There might just be minute dialect change mostly for slangs and locality. But true and true it's the same.
More like Yoruba language, Ijebu, Egba and the likes.
Anyone heard of Brazil adopting Yoruba as an official language? To be taught and studied in schools. For real? What happened to the Portuguese they were speaking? Cuban, wow. It never really crossed my mind. Thought she was Spanish or Mexican. |

I ain't watched No Time To Die yet... Downloaded but yet to. I know I'll need like 4hrs+ to fully watch that movie and I wanna watch it at a go without pause. I don't need distractions but work and chores never free me. Lol, I envy you wey get work to do. I think the Mexican Spanish is a bit different from the real Spanish. Lots of dialect differences and way of speaking, Sha maybe it's just me that's learning it new. |

I might now go check that old GQ article about why he was somewhat blacklisted by Hollywood. Cos dude said someone touched his as$. Na from there powers that be vex oo. Yea, I heard he was bullied or something like that. Na him make me dey watch DP during the boring filler episodes then na. But thank God, the show corrected itself. Either Ana or Eiza Gonzalez. After watching James Bond, Ana fits that role perfectly. She has this innocence and femme fatale look about her all at once. Plus her being Latina fits the narrative. Is she Spanish or Mexican? |

When he was announced as Firefly, see the online jubilation. Majority wasn't even bothered about the character much but for Fraser's win. I could care less who he played as long as he gets a job, lol. Doom patrol really helped him. |
