Sixfeetbelle:What are you goig on about? How is the child of her husband a random child for goodness sake ![]() ![]() Even if you feel you cant love her as your biological child; pls tell why would you maltreat the child A whole adult bully at that.Ridiculous, anyways its still the father that all responsibility is due and since he's clearly pussywhipped, the wife has free reins of the home. YOU DON'T HAVE TO ''LOVE'' IN ORDER TO BE A DECENT BEING. |
I have perused all documents that are in the public and although I am yet to see Tinubu's court defense and affidavit that he put up; these are my deducements: 1) This was a civil case and by such no criminal arrests/convictions were made. 2) The US Govt filed to have all the sums 0f $1.4mm forfeited but Tinubu fought back and through a settlement agreement he eventually had forfeited that $460k. This tells me not all funds in the account were traced to illegal activity OR the US couldnt prove the entirety of the sums were from illegal source. Noteworthy is the fact that the DEA/FBI have a conviction rate of 99% 3) The DEA ALWAYS prosecutes drug dealers, accountants and accomplices in criminal suits. Even if there will be a forfeiture, or even a plea bargain the defendant MUST go on record to admit guilt. However, in this case there wasnt a conviction or even a criminal trial which drug trafficking demands and furthermore, the US Govt put a caveat stating that Tinubu is prohibited from suing the Govt in future for this same forfeiture. That is very strange because it seems like they were bargaining with a ''criminal'' and afraid that the criminal will sue in the future. On what grounds will someone who committed a crime be suing? Like why is that caveat there? I believe that Tinubu still needs to come out to say exactly what transpired as this will undoubtedly affect the image of the country, he is responding to the petitions on technical grounds from what I understand. Yet, it is not enough to me, people genuinely want to know what transpired and come to a fair conclusion. Perhaps going into the hearings proper, more light will be shed. Until i see the documents that he filed in his own defense in the US court, I will have questions that still needs answers. Back to the petitions filed, the onus is on LP to prove that this was a criminal suit, that he was charged and convicted in court and that the forfeiture was due to his direct involvement in the illicit drug case. This is the bone of contention |
socialmediaman:I don’t know about him saving face but words definitely do translate to sinister things including violence. Take the Tunisian president’s speech and the violent aftermath on African immigrants living in Tunisia. Regardless of what his motives are, this step is in the right direction. Also note that if someone acknowledges wrongdoing and takes action to prevent the same thing from happening over and over again; they should be accorded grace. There’s no humanity without forgiveness. |
This is long overdue Seun. Finally some form of sanity, you can’t comment on here without the use of nasty words. Thank goodness. |
Walai:I’m surprised too o. I know how crazy the current times are but make we no lie o, that military regime was not it o. They think evil is ongoing now, you can congregate on SM The first thing they attack is media. Children everywhere jare |
TradersHelp:His words can be seen as a threat itself…should’ve condemned any form of violence and call for security agencies to act. Even insinuating violence might erupt is truly reckless seeing as the state is on the edge. Abeg o |
My dear Lagos decides today! Though I’m not there to vote myself, I’m praying for a successful outing where the ppl go out to exercise their civic responsibility. Hoping that all the security agencies are at alert and do their jobs properly. This contest seems even hotter than the presidency, lol. Following eagerly, to all those upset about the Oro festival, pls update if this hindered you in anyway. Let’s have videos and numbers to tweet/call in case of any issues ( God forbid) #SayNoToViolence #SayNoToVoteBuying #VoteCompetence Lastly pls be observant of their environment o. Don’t be reckless and end up on a T-shirt/SM trying to be brave. Observe carefully and properly evaluate your safety. |
TheAlchemist:I agree! However the devt of roads are important and in my previous comment on this thread I questioned why GRV will think of deploying a whooping 10k vehicles on already congested roads and suggested that he thinks of water transportation. LASG is surrounded with water…invest heavily in that, make it secure and safe and see the roads decongested in due time. Also the railway is another option to explore but roads absolutely important to accessing communities/further devt of those inner places. |
Draslo:Exactly…LASG doesn’t find major projects that are long term from state funds. I’m still shocked he said he will take down the tolls…I know how the toll gate madness affected the banks collection and almost wrecked the insurance companies. |
ProtectMyMoney:Bro, I’m informed on this one o. I understand the agitation against Tinubu but throwing away caution and thinking everything is not clear isn’t the way to go either. Anyways, he won’t be able to stop the levies because he’s contractually bonded to the banks both local and foreign. Or if he thinks he can find from another source let him try. |
thebosstrevor1:From my knowledge, alpha beta deployed the software used in managing/collecting the taxes. That is how they made it digitalized, it is just like the FIRS TaxPromax platform. Alpha beta is in law so he will have to get that removed first, then get an alternative or else he will go back to Stone Age o. The other way round is to review the % of Tinubu’s controlling share in the company, that way he won’t disrupt a working system. |
[quote author=Dapagun post=121644707]6. 10,000 vehicles. You want to bring more cars to Lagos. Is lagos traffic not enough for your people? You want 10,000 more vehicles so that everyone should kuku buy a bed and be sleeping in traffic[/quote LASG doesn’t need more cars o. What we need is an efficient water transportation. The entire state is connected by water, pls make use of that. Imagine the revenue LASG will make from state owned water transport system. Not only will it ease off traffic on the roads, reduce tear and wear of roads; it will also elongate our life span cos the stress of LASG traffic ehn! The other alternative is effective rail network; very important |
Dynamicboss:If his plan is to dissolve Alpha Beta then he must have a working alternative to collecting taxes. It’s the taxes I.e internally generated revenue that will fuel most of the projects he may want to undertake. Hate it or leave it, tax collection in LASG is very organized in connection with the banks. Digitalized and very efficient…to dissolve he must find an alternative unless he doesn’t want to collect tax though. Which is how LASG really makes money making it the only state banks lend clean to…I.e without any form of security |
Dapagun:I’m shocked that he wants to pull down the toll gate…how will he service the local syndicated loans? The foreign debt Wow! He doesn’t even know that the toll levies are servicing both Local and Int’l debt ?? The entire stretch of that road is meant to be FGN initiative which LASG took upon itself to open up the Lekki & beyond axis and this was achieved by accessing both local and foreign debt. He should revise that one o…his advisors should’ve told him it’s a 30yr project after which the toll levies stop |
Beremx:Defeats the purpose…if we all start defending our ppl; that will degenerate into full blown tribal war. All well meaning Nigerians should be calming down the polity. Violence knows NOT tribe o. The Yoruba ppl are offended and are defending their ppl; the igbos are offended and are defending their ppl. Let’s all rest Abeg. The politicians causing this division will jet out at the slightest sign of unrest. Surprised to see educated literates ALL talking like touts. Baseless accusations/allegations by BOTH tribes. Relax o, when it gets hot all of us will feel it |
Beremx:Lol, sis this isn’t true. Let both the Igbos and Yorubas rest. Beating drum of war is disastrous. There are thriving Igbo men/women in SW as well as thriving Yoruba men in SE. Let’s dead the issue…SM is being used to propagate war and ppl are feeding into it. Everyone should condemn any tribal bigot. It’s for all our safety o |

Opiso101: I checked weekly and only started worrying when my girls got an empty NSF mail. Also I’m still working so that keeps me stressed out enough as is. |
Opiso101:This is the 11th working day, so by next week you should get a response since it’s not priority. Mine boo was on the 8th and decision was just made on the 30th. Don’t stress |

So got NSF mail for the kids but no request for additional docs, just that they’re working to make a decision and would notify us if there’s any change. So should we do a paid mail/call or wait it out? Or what’s the process? Thanks Bio 8th of Dec. I and MA haven’t got any mail yet. |

Thegamingorca:No, only foreign currencies. It’s currency conversion but they don’t convert naira for obvious reasons. Lol |
Kenn55:Don’t know how to open a UK account from here. But if it’s possible, then she can try the suggestion I gave. |
Kenn55:Does she have an account she wants to transfer funds to in the UK? If so, let her visit her bank and ask that they debit her USD account account with the £ equivalent to the account in the UK. To do this, she will need full bank account details of the UK account (bank name, bank address, bank account number, swift code, etc). I know GTB does this and believe other banks should be able to render same service too. |
