The Vice president of Nigeria, prof. Yemi Osinbajo was celebrated at the Redemption camp hours ago.

The General Overseer of the church, Pastor E.A Adeboye specially welcomed him before his message and asked the congregation to give him a special welcome.

“Our very own Pastor and usher at special events, Osinbajo who is now the vice president of Nigeria is here in our midst…” and everyone shouted for joy.

The General overseer further jokingly said “Why aren’t you ushering today…(everyone including Osinbajo laughs out loud), please we need you too officiate at the next congress….”

Pastor Adeboye further welcomed the Lagos state Governor, Ambode.

“He is our very own and he is here with us. He couldn’t make it yesterday because of the heavy gridlock and crowd but he is here today…(everyone shouts for joy, Ambode waves).

This is the first time the Man of God is publicly recognizing Osinbajo since he emerged vice president.

A 34-year-old pregnant woman identified as Ikhuenbor Joy has been arraigned before an Egor Magistrate Court for beating another pregnant woman, Gift Nkechi, to coma.

The beating occurred at No 3 Ikhuenbor lane off Odion Street, Evbuotubu Quarters in Egor local government.

Joy, who is about eight-month pregnant, was accused of biting Nkechi and beating her with her fists.

LEADERSHIP gathered that a caesarian session was performed on Nkechi to remove her baby.

Joy was arraigned on two-count charge of assault and causing bodily harm.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The offenses are punishable under sections 351 and 355 of the Criminal Code Cap 48 Vol.
II Laws of defunct Bendel State of Nigeria 1976 now applicable in Edo State.

Presiding Magistrate, William Aziegbemhin, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 and a surety who must be a house
owner and live within the court jurisdiction.

The case was adjourned to September 29,

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, on Tuesday ordered the remand of one Blessing Fred, 23, at Kirikiri Prison, for allegedly stabbing her 7-year-old son at the back.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, ordered for the remanded of the accused as she pleaded guilty and adjourned the case till Sept. 23 for sentencing.

The accused, a stylist, who lives at No.12, Tunde Olushola St., Ijaiye, a Lagos suburb, was arraigned on a two-count charge of
assault and grievous harm.

The prosecutor, Insp. Racheal Williams, told the court that the offences were committed on July 13, at the accused residence.
Williams said that the accused acted on her neighbour’s complaint that her 7-year-old son dragged her 5-year-old daughter inside
the room, removed her pants and touched her private part.

“The accused was angry, beat her son severally and stabbed him at the back with a broken bottle.

“If not for the intervention of neighbours who rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, he would have died as a result of bleeding
from the wound,’’ she said.

The offences according to the prosecutor, contravened Sections 170 and 244(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2011.(NAN)
