Truth is he does not need to be grateful for anything. He is not being fed by the state. He is exchanging his very valuable skills for remuneration. He has decided to take his skills somewhere else. Na who lose? I wish him the best of luck and hope he runs far away from this country to better things. Oh and be grateful in the context it was used would be instantly recognisable to anyone who engages with racists on twitter and has a foreign name
Solumtoya:
The same you said "all opinions are valid"
The same you said some "sentiments are not okay to share"
The same you said people shouldn't share their opinions but "read and pass"

I just learnt "you should be grateful" is a negative word?

You can't love the thread only when opinions you consider positive are shared and try to force it to adhere. The ongoing conversation is extremely valuable for this thread. We need to understand these things: both those about to come and those already here. Real experiences, opinions and fact should be shared on it: that is the very essence of this thread.

I come in peace o grin

They have british passports meaning they are citizens , chikena. They want to fly their family to safety, can you blame them? I dont.
worry357:
Many of these people that you state are reaching out are not actually British citizens, they are claiming some connection via job or relatives or anything they can think of to get a ride into the UK!
Or, they are demanding to bring loads of so called dependents with them. It's the usual back door route into a country for some people.
It is no wonder that the UK are being selective about who they transport.

As at yesterday out of 4000 British Citizens who have reached out to be evacuated, only 536 had been evacuated, 3500 left behind to the tender mercies of other countries. We have to beg for space on other countries planes.
We should be airlifting them together with their families before ceasefire ended which is what other countries are doing but we failed them.
Mehn Unthinkable things are now commonplace under the Tories. We are now once again the sick man of Europe. Terrible

Shamina Begum the one that went to join ISIS and participate in murdering innocent people? Or is it someone else?

I don't know the specifics of the Sudan situation but I don't think they just abandoned people willy nilly. There's a civil war that has broken out. They have evacuated some people. What do you want them to do - go to every nook and cranny of the country to pull out every Brit? That would involve violating the sovereignty of the country and would also involve putting more lives at risk. NO country can say they've gotten all their people out. They are all evacuating those they can reach and trying to put protections in place for those who are behind.

Harsh, I know, but everyone in Sudan knew the risks - that's why countries issue travel advisories. They cannot invade another country every time violence breaks out, to extract every last person.

This used to be a thread where all opinions were valid. No question was considered stupid and everyone got along.

Today I have had people belittle others experiences by using negative words like "bitch" , "go back to Nigeria" , "you should be grateful " and others. I am sorry but those sentiments are not okay to share and definitely not in the spirit of the thread.

Can we have our old thread back please? Feel free to share your experiences of the UK.
If you disagree, read and pass. PEACE ✌️

Woah...bit rude there, dont you think?

It's OK not to like the UK,its a bit rubbish at the minute.

They say 1st gen immigrants are more patriotic than anyone else but let me just say this...

If you ever start to think of yourself as an Englishman, remember Shamima Begum and remember the British Citizens who have been abandoned in the Sudan when they flew embassy staff out last week. When asked, they said the peopleleft behind will have local help.

What sort of country abandons its citizens?

MPs have urged the UK government to launch a public inquiry to assess the effects of Brexit in a parliamentary debate triggered by a petition.

A three-hour debate was held after 183,000 people signed a petition calling for a public inquiry into the impact of leaving the European Union.

The government says Brexit was a "democratic choice" and dismissed calls for a public inquiry.

But some MPs branded Brexit a "disaster" and an "error".

They seem to be gradually admitting that Brexit was a mistake and misadventure.
Oh that enquiry is happening sooner or later. If contrey gets even harder than this as it will, it may not even be needed as will be clear to all and sundry that we ve been royally freaked by Brexit and its proponents.

The popular Cleric Wife who posted on Twitter said;

"I remember when I was Pregnant with our first son, one day I saw blood flowing from me and when My husband returned home, I told him that I had miscarriage. Boldly, and without hesitation, he said, "You can't have a miscarriage", and then asked to be served his meal.

Stevepop:
My mum's visa was approved 2 weeks ago (8 days after her biometrics). I think it's more of making the application as straightforward as possible. Some folks suggested not including the fact that she's coming for Omugwo which makes sense as this may be interpreted as coming as a carer (paid). The documents we submitted are:

1) Invitation letter stating the purpose of her visit (tourism) and stating all expenses will be borne by us
2) Payslip/bank statements/employment contract
3) Rent agreement to prove accommodation arrangement
4) My passport and BRP
5) Her bank statements - had about 100k naira
6) She's retired and petty trader (did not state this so that she won't be asked for tax docs etc..), instead we got her pastor to write a letter that she's a volunteer in church bla bla...just to prove ties to Nigeria. We got my father-in-law to write a consent letter for my MIL when she was coming last year.
7) My birth certificate- I think this is very important as I know someone whose application was rejected with the VO stating that they weren't able to prove ties. They reapplied and attached the birth certificate and was granted.

Hope this helps!
You WILL NOT need a consent letter from an adult permitting another adult to travel.

No offence meant to the OP but this is notverygood practice carried over from Saudi applications. The EO will find it very very odd.

Sounds like burnout
However burnout is not for people who need to eat.
Apply to join the bank of locum doctors for an nhs trust.
You can pick your shifts depending on your childcare responsibilities.
On days you are not working you can study for those other jobs you want in order to decide.

It will not be easy but nothing in life is. I wish her success.
MsQB:
Good Evening Ancestors! I'm asking on behalf of a friend
She is about to relocate to the UK on Dependant/spousal visa and she asked me some questions which I don't have answer to
1...She is a medical doctor with more than 5years experience in Nigeria but she is not willing to practice in the UK though she intend to have GMC registration but she prefers it is her last option. So, what long term job can she do in the UK? Any certications she can obtain?? Can she venture into IT or pharmaceuticals?? Note that her background in Nigeria is just medicine no other experience though she has Cambridge A levels certificate (GCE A LEVELS)
2...what is the difference between support worker, carer, healthcare assistants because she intends to get a job as soon as she lands so as to keep body and soul together. Oh she prefers the one without personal care
3...On jobs she can do, can it be remote/hybrid/night shift because she has twin toddlers in which they want to reduce childcare cost
Any pointers are welcome
She really want to change career but so confuse
She will be reading.

Please help a brother. I worked for this guy for one week as a construction labourer and I told him I can't continue due to the weather, that the weather is affecting my health. He said if I stopped working he won't pay me, I thought he was joking oh. This is more than 4 weeks now, I have been asking this guy for my money. He said I bridged contract. We signed no contract. It was even when I told him I am stopping that he said it's a 12month job. To end every talk, he told me to get a doctor's report to prove health and he will pay me. I went to gp, they said it will take 6months.

Before I started the job, the only discussion about the job we had was that he sent me pictures of what they do and I told him it's something I will love so. Its in open field so when we started I began to see that the cold is killing. This is my first outdoor job in the uk so I didn't really imagined it will be that cold. I respected him and worked till Friday.

Please what ways can I use to get my money. Are there other legal ways to get a doctor's report? If I get a doctor's report from Nigeria will it serve?

Finally, please did I really do anything wrong? Do I really have to present a doctor's report to be paid?

I've had this frequent unpleasant experience of my hard c0ck getting pricked by sharp, coarse growing hairs around the coochie, I think it's high time I spoke up sad

Happened again a couple of hours ago. It's so annoying. I mean with every stroke I got hurt and had to just stop.

Waxing gets every single hair off, and you stay smooth as a pebble for a long time. It's cleaner and more attractive to most men.

I've been with a couple of FWBs who waxed and we always had smooth, slippery, uninterrupted and enjoyable rides, with the hairs out of the way on both sides wink

So please sisters, book a waxing appointment often. Thank you.
