usless economic terrosit firm .why not publish daily rate for the parallel markets in UK. Where the firm is located why target vulnerable developing nation with huge structural problems .why add to the misery to make dirty profits. Any body that what to know the rates in Nigeria should ask the central bank of Nigeria. Approved by law to determine it .

Don't display your ignorance here. Parallel rate of what exactly.

Whatever rates you are looking for are available online.

You guys love chasing ghosts and phantoms when the truth is that your government is incompetent.

The problem with this government is that they don't like the truth. They've run out of ideas and are now chasing phantoms.

The Naira will keep nosediving until they can fix the economy.

Mr Emefiele should do the needful and declare bureau d change as an illegal business. Anyone buying or selling forex outside the banks should be treated as a criminal.
To all.those who have made their mind to always criticize Me Emefiele can you please allow the man breathe.
This crazy parallel illegality was established by Gen Babaginda to siphon money out of Nigeria, and closing it down will take some time and balls from any CBN governor.
We all need to support the CBN governor as he cleans the Agusean stable. Currency speculation,Currency trading must be declared an economic crime and anyone caught doing it must be sent to jail.
The CBN governor declared only banks will sell forex in Nigeria some months ago and the heavens didn't fall, even to my suprise,Gen Buhari didn't reverse the decision, that shows the Governor was right in his decision.
For those who are trying to beat the system by using illegal visas to purchase forex,Mr Emefiele must force the embassies to open an hotline or a web portal where the banks can confirm people's visa before selling forex, anyone caught using fake visas to buy forex should be treated as a scapegoat, and charged with currency speculation and fraud.
God bless Nigeria.
grin grin
It is simple economics your hero can't supply all the demand for dollar so there will always be a black / parallel market.

Please how did IBB create the parallel market?

aboki start when i was in unilorin 2014,
i was using it for my USD look up,
but i later discovered it was a scam.

especially for parallel market, the disparity with CBN rate is over rated.
this is killing our economy .

do you know bank ATM rate is currently N460 per USD
while aboki manipulate parallel market to N570 per USD.
please to what END ?
to fill his and his cronies bank account right ?

please where is he getting his price from ?
The truth is that the price pegging that CBN does requires it to supply all available demand at that price. As we are almost generating zero revenue in usd asides oil and importing everything we need, it is a herculean task.

About the parallel market, I could remember circa 2005 when I saw my folks to the MMIA and we bought dollar at around 150 or so. The official exchange rate was around 130. So the difference has always been there .

These guys played a fast one on you. They don't have a right to impound your car for such an offense.

I did all my vehicle registration papers for less than half that amount at the revenue office earlier this year.

“The only exchange rate remains the I&E window, which is the market we expect everybody who wishes to procure or sell forex to get it,”

I said the above yesterday and some people that know nothing on how the fx market operates and how it can be influenced by a platform like abokifx were talking trash.

If you deal on dollars and also follow abokifx last week, you would have noticed that between Tuesday and Thursday that something was fishy.
You're joking.

How long has AbokiFX been in operation? Since from time immemorial there has always been a parallel USD/NGN market that trades at a premium and there will always be until international trade settlement is no longer in USD and the CBN can sufficiently meet demand.

Market prices are a reflection of supply and demand amongst other things. AbokiFX only publishes the prices as they are, it is a tool for price discovery and every reasonable market has one. It does not influence the market in any way, it is the unreasonable policies of this government that has caused this chaos.

Currency speculation is illegal.
Do you understand what currency speculation is? How and why is it illegal? That is the foundation of the forex market, banks, businesses and even countries do this.

Overall, I agree with most of what I'm reading here. There are two contrasting ideas - that there was much abundance; of wealth and opportunities, while others believe that it was just suffering.

I believe it's a little of both. There was abundance in the sense that it was the golden era for oil producing states, there was much money but all these was in the hands of few elite. And as someone pointed out, they had been brainwashed to love the ways of the white man. Instead of developing Nigeria, they were jetting to the white man's land, buying his luxury goods and providing revenue to his businesses. All these came at an expense of Nigeria development and progress. This is how I see it, there was suffering in abundance.

They were a cursed generation; the curse lives on.

While it is hard to believe, I think Nigerians are better off now. There's better health care, better roads, safer cars, etc. The internet has improved democracy, the government can't hide their dirty laundry like before. I feel what holds us back is our lackluster attitude towards governance - we don't hold our leaders accountable.

1960 to 1983 was the golden age of Nigeria. Those lucky enough to be educated and have come of age in Nigeria then, do not and has never known the meaning of hardship. They were the rulers and are still the rulers and controllers of Nigeria. They sold themselves to neocolonialism and refused to be defiant and remake the new country they inherited in a way that benefits the masses. They are all confused psychologically and they lack self-esteem. These are people brainwashed by the white colonialists or traumatized by the psychological oppression of racist colonialism.

Anyone coming of age between 1984 and 2000 would have known the meaning of hell on earth. This breed are very rugged and sort of resigned or adapted to hardship.

The millennial generation are similar to the first independence generation in the abundance of opportunities for self- realization and social renewal, but such opportunities come as two edged swords which the holder may use to obliterate themselves if care is not taken. Money may be made from internet connectivity, but because it appears easier and quicker, financial crime and Ponzi may be chosen. Random browsing on Internet and social media communication technology may weed out focused research and development of creative thinking etc. With recent trends, the millennial generation, despite the abundant opportunities, appear to be yet another lost generation of Nigerians. Alas! The beautiful ones are not yet born.
An apt analysis.

Dear Tailors,

No time for pleasantries, I am perplexed.... Omo I dey vex!
One quick question, during the time of your internship or training, did your master/oga also include in the curriculum "How craft the perfect lie to make your client wait longer" or "How to collect materials and abandon them till the dying minutes". Because I don't understand how you guys will collect cloth and advance money when you still have other pending jobs to do and then proceed to abandon the new job somewhere in man's land where you can never it untill you are packing out of the shop.

My beautiful material I bought and the design I painstakingly choose just to wear and impress my girlfriend's family has all gone to waste.

Your fellow colleague, the upcoming Lai Mohammed has been posting me since forever, now the D-Day for the occasion I am going to wear Ankara of 2001 that has faded more than Buhari's memory.

How do you people sleep at night? Do you have an "anti-curse" protection device? What gives you people the boldness to lie just like that as if it is breathing to you.

Well let me stop here for now, but before I go, E NO GO BETTER FOR UNA!

I bought a fairly used lexus ES350 2007 almost a year ago and it’s been running fine except from some few electrical issues which are easily fix
But day before yesterday my friend ask for my battery to start his car
I gave him the battery and he use it to start his car
And since then when I fix the battery back and start my car I noticed my car vibrates a lot
From the steering to the seats when it’s moving or not
Pls car guru what should I do
Is it an urgent matter I should solve cause I’m currently out of funds
Just managing

Thanks In advance

Common problem with Toyota products of those years. Avoid removing your battery. If you have to, do so while the car is running. Removing the battery resets the ECU's memory and it will have to relearn the right working conditions for your car.

The more decentralized power becomes the better governance gets.

I wish each it could even go further to each state administering over all her finances.

I wonder why everyone is mad with US. They did the right thing, both morally and financially. How long were they going to keep babysitting the Afghan government?

The Afghan government couldn't fund itself; the army and police where under US payroll. When you also account the human cost, it is a lost war whether now or in another 20 years.
