Dear House, Please what is the meaning of this correspondence letter.?? I just saw this today.
I applied for a visiting visa since 2020
And it has been pending all this while.
Just today I noticed they updated the above letter after I sent an email to Canadian embassy here in the UK where I currently based informing them that I will be attending my youngest brother wedding coming up 29th of April 2023.
I requested that they should take over my application because of my current location and address. Please anyone with similar experience. I presumed they are working on it
Hi,
Pls can you share the process you used to ask for transfer? I'm in a similar situation and looking to fast track by all possible means before I decide to submit a new application.

Good morning all,

Please who has ever gotten an emergency travel certificate from the high commission in London?

Was it a smooth process and how long did it take?

What I noticed about the price is that if you've had your provisional more than 1yr and you just had you full licence, the the price of the provisional licence will be cheaper than the full licence. If you wait till more than 6months before updating your full licence, then the price could reduce. (I might not be totally right)

Actually now I remember I got my previous insurance on my Nigerian license not my provisional!
Not sure if that made a difference..

Does anyone have an idea on this?

If I take out insurance on provisional licence, will the price change (go up) if I get my full license few months later and update my record.

Currently I'm getting about £800 if I fill the form with my provisional licence, but if I change the license to full (other details remain the same) the price goes up to about £1,500. I'm yet to take my driving test.
I started with intl, forgot to update to full until it was 2 weeks to renewal. My quoted price went down though a few things also changed like my address and a slight reduction in mileage.
But like ppl have said, the quotes I got from other providers were much higher than the ones I got last year when applying with provisional.
Modified...I started with Intl not provisional.

Which insurance company is this. I'm currently getting over £1,300 even after adding voluntary excess.

hmmn🤔🤔🤔. How'd you manage that? Was that on annual renewal? Or even after comparison sites?
Annual renewal. I didn't just automatically renew...gave them a call to update some info for the new year and then negotiated the price of over 800 they quoted me to just over 600. I still asked for more (as Olivia Twist 😀) but they were now asking if I had a better deal so they could match, I didn't (lowest quote I got was almost double £1400) so I took what was on the table.
I think having a history with them helped.

A room for negotiation is always available, wiggle room or compromise........

If you don't ask...... You don't get .....😂

I learnt this lesson many years ago after I asked (because I was broke) for a discount on my tuition fees and they gave me almost 40% off🤑. I realised I only asked as that was the only option I had, if I had the cash I wouldn't have asked.
Since then I negotiate every and anything.. just saved over 200pounds on my car insurance last week by negotiating with my provider...

He can't have it both ways. Either he leaves, accepts the £25 increment for 12 months or the £50 being on the statuary.
There is always room to negotiate. He can always ask first, if declined, he can negotiate for a shorter term.

Are you playing I’m in the UK and I’ve applied since August 2022… no response till date…. I used the new portal. We might get lucky if we reapply sha…

Ahrhhggg sad
You've just killed my hope o cheesy last year when I checked, UK times were not too different from Nija, which is why I didn't bother reapplying then..I'll still try sha, who knows..

It states We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements?

Is that what you have exactly?

Yeah, you can give till month end, you need not cancel the current but you can reapply from where you reside now.

Yes, that is what it states.....
That is the plan...I really don't want to reapply if I can help it. I find the Canadian visa application the most tedious and annoying visa application to put together with all the details they ask for....

Since when?

I honestly don't know cos I wasn't looking out for that, I feel like it has been like that since 2021 ish.....I have sent some mails and updated my expired docs via Web form...I give them until month end, then I will reapply.
Luckily I'm in the UK and I see the average application time is 30days here.

In England, all children over the age of 3 get 15 hours funded childcare irrespective of status. 30 hours funding is dependent on settled/permanent status and income related checks.
The rules might be different in Scotland
At what age do they get full time access?

Hello people
Does anyone know the process to get an international driving permit?
You don't need one. Use your normal Nigerian license.

She should look to the NHS and other health care companies...there are BA/PM roles she can fit into, but will require her upskilling first..

Thank you so much Justwise Mizgene Bigtt76 Hustla for your advise, it really helped and I’ve been offered a 20 hour role.

I am especially happy as this happened just under a month of specifically searching for jobs in the nhs and being 4 months in the uk, This will also be my second job so I am happy to be building on the experience.

I hope the road to sponsorship favors me as the job search has.
Congratulations!🥳🥳🥳

I don rush collect brp for care sponsorship oh.
I heard I can't return back to PSW.

Is there a way out like this ?
No way back, You should look for a part time data analyst role to keep building your skill/experience, then switch in future when you can.

Please o I’m still seeking advise and opinions o
@bigtt76 @justwise @hustla @ticha and others whom have any experience of this please before I reject the role

You should engage them and nicely ask for sponsorship, what do you have to lose? There can always be exceptions and it might just be you.

Never accept things at face value and always push for more. I learnt this many years back when I got my masters admission, I wrote a letter requesting for a discount in the fees which they surprisingly gave me! About 40% discount too. I didn't have the whole sum then, which is why I wrote to them, however that incident taught me a lesson. Now even of I have the money, I'll ask for discount still, if I get a great offer, I negotiate still...what is the worst that can happen?

Hello everyone.
My contract will be expiring in 5 months, same time the validity of my BRP ends.
I'm sure of getting a contract extension from my employer.
The question now is, will letting agencies and landlords give me a rent now knowing fully well my BRP ends in 5 months? I'm really eager to change my apartment.
I think they will, a friend of mine did it, they only sent a mail for him to provide an updated right to rent share code when their record showed the previous one was about to expire

I have just applied for a tier 2 update.

For some reason, I didn't get the immigration ID check app invite like before, I had to book a physical appointment...Anyone know why? Or they just figured they are not making money through that?

No appointments available anytime within 3 weeks, the few available appointments were in crazy far places and also not free..so unfair. Why does one need to pay for an appointment slot after paying for visa?? Why not make the free slots available for all?

Also the IHS thing is really annoying. I have switched or updated Visas a couple of times, each time I had some months (3 to 5) leftover but they conveniently forget how to do proper accounting and bring a balance forward.. but if you owe the government one pound of tax or debt, they will come after you even 20years later with a hammer.
Also when you think about it, For those working in exempt organisations...why do they need to pay that IHS in the first place and then come back to claim a refund?? The home office has access to national databases, they have the sponsor licence number and this should be enough to let those ppl off but no, they want them to pay amd probably forget about claiming or if they switch visas in future, they won't meet the 6 months payslip criteria for claims..

I feel exploited sha embarassed embarassed sha especially because I needed this urgently and didn't have a choice and also because I have just haemorrhaged some hard earned cash.. cheesy
All these students and people with families doing PSW and tier 2 processing....I can only imagine what they go through sad

Please guys, I need advice on this.

My course has the option to choose from either a dissertation or a work-based project. Personally, I would prefer the second option because of the work experience it will offer, but I suspect one may need to find the placement himself. Please, which is best out of these options, and if I'm to go for a work-based project, any idea how best to find an employer for it? Thanks
Ask your school na....(personally I would choose work based)

You don’t renew until 6 months to expiry
With Nigeria, all things are possible. I've done it before some years back but mine was less than a year validity.
