You are only being callous with your comment. Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been under repair since the administration of GEJ and PMB's administration continued the work. Work is on-going and the Ibadan end of the project is completed.

Abuja-Kaduna road received needed attention lately due to the emmergency usage of Kaduna Airport as alternate international airport till completion of repair work on the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja.
Even before the recent work done on the Abuja - Kaduna Expressway it was in much better shape than the Lagos - Ibadan road.

My point is that it makes sense to ensure that the major economic areas have the needed infrastructure to continue making money, employing people and paying taxes. Abuja does none of that, rather it is a drain on public finances.

As for Kaduna...

If the Government assists and both couple are working they will be very comfortable.
Very few people who depend on government aid are ever 'comfortable', least of all a family with five children of the same age.

Most western governments have been working to cut back on spending by way of austerity which has meant that the amount given to families has been cut and the barrier for entry to such programs has been raised. That is why food banks have become so much more common and essential in many western cities.

even poor man dey do fertility treatment?
i know it's damn expensive!
Some of the drugs used have been around for a while, it's not that costly but they are open to abuse. I'm pretty sure that's what this couple were doing.

Or rather, I'm pretty sure that because of the pressure that many Nigerian women feel to have children, the wife was taking fertility medication.

Whether the husband knew is another question.

Stop being dumb...
Even an average earning man can't care for five babies.
In the western world where people are gainfully employed, the Government provides welfare for multiples till they turn 18.
I doubt you are a parent for making such comment
In the western world they would end up living in poverty because western governments would only give them the absolute basics - a small home in a horrible area with bad schools and poor employment prospects; a basic food allowance that would be just enough to feed the children.

It is these facts that have caused many parents to feed their children the unhealthy, nutrition deficient junk food that has resulted in a childhood obesity epidemic in the western world.

hmmmmm
are you sure?

so there is a medication that influences multiple birth.

what I know is that yam is a big culprit.
and you can't easily separate a typical Yoruba man from his Amala (which is a yam derivative).
Yam might be responsible for twins but look at the rate at which Nigerians are having triplets, quadruplets and quintuplets - that isn't natural, these guys are using (and abusing) fertility treatments and ending up with more than they can cater for.

My dear.
Shebi it's the same way other men release into their wives that he released his own?

Did he command the quintuplets while doing the do?

I understand your point, but in saner climes, large populations are meant to be an advantage.

It is different if he just gives birth 5 times.

If na me born JUST Three at a go like this, omo na to build duplex then close the book of revelations o grin grin grin grin

I no fit shout! cheesy
It's not about the size of the population it is about quality. Until Nigerians stop shouting about size or number and realize that it is quality that matters then the problems that plague Nigeria will persist.

These people did not have 5 children by accident. I'm pretty sure that they were (mis)using some form of fertility medication and that is why they had so many in one swoop.

I hope that we can get out of this habit of spending money on educating people abroad.

How difficult can it be to build these same structures at home and invite those lecturers or Nigerians to teach these people the same thing in Uyo, Eket or somewhere in AKS?

If you can't help, keep mute.

Birth control for first pregnancy?
Government take care of multiples in other countries.
Please do your research before commenting..
Can you care for 5 babies alone?
Which government takes care of multiples? What are their demographics - do they have large expanding populations like Nigeria or shrinking populations like Japan, Romania or Russia?

Why would the Nigerian FG or state governments look to encourage rapid population growth when the people are doing so already without any idea on how to care of their children?

I do not have 5 children nor would I have 5 children because it is irresponsible.
Health › Re: 5 Reasons Why Men Have Razor Bumps After Shaving by mmsen: 1:22pm On Apr 20, 2017
The issue is the type of razor used.

If you use an old-school double edged razor or even straight edge razor with blades that are constantly replaced (or sharpened) then you won't have these problems.

Tips:

1. Buy a double edged razor blade and an abundance of razor blades

2. Buy some shaving soap or shaving creme

3. Learn how to shave using two or three passes.

That will stop the razor bumps. Stop using the gimmicky Gillette razors with 4 or 5 blades, they don't do anything besides irritate your skin.

I get your point, and indeed I get very VERY pissed off when I see these indigent peep bringing unneeded battalions into the world. And then they start disturbing 'government and well-meaning individuals' to come to their aid. No one says poor people cannot have children, but for goodness sake don't they bring just the ones they can take off. Useless people!! angry

HOWEVER. .

In this particular case, I think we should cut the husband some slack. HE probably was expected just one, which they (him and wify) probably would have been able to cater for (the wife is employed). But getting FOUR additional babies clearly comes with a lot of unexpected expsenses
I could be entirely wrong but I get the impression that these guys were using something to increase fertility which is why they ended up with 5.

Knowing how much emphasis some people put on reproduction I wouldn't be surprised. I just wish they put as much emphasis on quality of up-bringing and preparation for parenthood.

Road network in Ghana Roads here are not the best I've seen, most of the inter-city roads are single carriage. Imagine, the only major road that linked Accra to the Commercial city of Ghana Kumasi, is also a single carriage. angry Like that wasn't enough, from Kumasi to Tamale (the biggest and most populous region) unfortunately, wasn't lucky to escape the prevailing fate, in fact with more road bumps than the hairs on my head. That your waist pain may get more severe after plying that road.
.... To the next big thing "electricity".
The road from Accra to Tema is very good and is not single carriage. That's the main economic artery - similar to the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway that has been neglected, meanwhile the Abuja to Kaduna road gets constant attention...

The electricity situation is better but should there be a drought then the whole country hurts. Ghana is very dependent (too much so) on the Volta dam for its power. There would be no point in inviting the people behind that dam to Nigeria because they really didn't do much, the foreign businesses in that area held the Ghanaian government to ransom during the early post-independence era to build it and allow them to buy power at a heavily subsidized rate.

I've heard other people cry about Ghanaian food but I've never had an issue with it. I'm not fond of their swallows but their rice dishes are good - Palava sauce is pretty good.

It is completely foolish and irrational what this couple of have done and the fact that so many people on this forum cannot see that is why you keep having to endure 'leaders' who come from within your own ranks and take you all for granted.

Keep producing anyhow whilst crying about a lack of development. It's your own stupid custom and your own doing.

It is not a good thing at all.

Most of Nigeria's problems can be explained by way of the ridiculous rate of reproduction.

The leaders (political, traditional and religious) can take advantage of the population because they know it is a large, seemingly endless well of cheap labor, poverty and desperation.

The problem isn't oil, the problem is the Nigerian obsession with oil.

I could maybe understand it if Nigeria were a nation of 5 million people but it isn't.

The idea that Niger Delta oil should be used to sustain a nation of 180 million is foolish. All the constituent parts should contribute equally, especially the north that is so quick to make noise about its size and population.

How many people in Lagos have seen Water pipeline?

Population outgrew the water and power utilities in Lagos (Just like the whole of Nigeria).

I maybe wrong but 1st instituting Borehole tax before providing the water infrastrutures is akin to placing the cart before the horse (again thats how all our poliical elites think, its not limited to Lagos sad)
No, it's about protecting the environment but there's a real need to stop people from setting up camp in places that cannot accommodate them.

Some people feel that they have an inalienable right to settle whether their foot lands, even if that means squatting on land that they do not own and extracting water and other resources that they are not entitled to. That manner of thinking has to stop.

Resources are finite, including the water table. Something had to be done to stop the haphazard manner in which people sink boreholes.

You cannot keep pumping ground water from several different areas in a small space and not expect environmental problems. It will have detrimental effects on a city that is already hovering just above sea level as well have adverse effects on the quality of the water that we all need should one of the many boreholes become polluted.

The problem with Nigeria is that too many people feel they should have an opinion and yet they don't even want to read to enlighten themselves.

For those who listened before commenting, you would see that with the PUL all other waste management bills paid to LAWMA would no longer be necessary.

The logic is simple. Previously, when you pay LAWMA fees, it goes directly into a general pool of IGR of Lagos state.

But with the PUL, the fund would to used to cater exclusively for Environmental management issues

Ambode is doing a great job and presenting Lagos with intelligent leadership.
It's just like the borehole requirements that were laid out. Lagos needs to protect the water table, you can't have everyone drilling boreholes as and when they please without expecting environmental destruction but no one wants to think of that instead they want to cry about the process being formalized.

They want development without change.
