Techguy96:You must have mixed my point. What I am saying is have a Degree in related field. From the perspective of a hiring company, been able to achieve a degree signals the ability to listen to directions and commit to four years of work. It ia not just the degree, but the degree shows a lot about an individual. Moreover, people with college or post-baccalaureate degrees tend to earn much more than those without one. "Even companies like Apple that have been vocal about non-traditional education are more likely to hire someone that has both a college degree and technical training, according to Michael Horowitz, president of TCS Education System. By the way, don't say alot of Nigerians going into I.T already have a degree, no they don't, they only want to go in because of the money. Which is fine, but ask them what problem are they trying to solve, and you will hear them stammering...... I understand your point bro...... The I.T sector is fast becoming a full professional position like Nursing, and Medicine. Now, will you hire a Mathematics graduate for a Nursing position? That is why you see so many Nigerians upon arriving in the U.S, they swtich from Geography to Nursing by quickly completing a CNA course to get Nursing certificates, some of them go back to school to start Nursing a fresh. |
Xolander:You have said it all, and this is the best advise for anyone going into the I.T field.... They have never left Nigeria, they have never being in any meeting where candidate choice are deliberated, they have never been to any recruiter fairs, forums or groups, they have never being in any meetings with VP of Tech or CTO to discuss candidate choice and requirements, but they wabt to tell US what the requirements are. Most companies in the U.S requires a Bachelors degree for I.T roles, even the entry level roles, that is the requirement, I cannot change that. But they think they have more statistics than I do..... Bunch of illiterates. |
Xolander:Omg.... I didn't know we have brains like you on this forum. Just imagine the horrible and complicated e-diots I have been talking to all day. My point to their blocked brains is this. A degree gives an edge. If I have three candidates, with same knowledge and experience, I am most likely to go with the one with a degree. Also, if for example, a reputable company gives me a requirement to get candidates with a Bachelors degree, am I supposed to send them candidates without a degree ? If I do that, then I am tagged unqualified, therefore I am likely to lose that contract. Thank you for your wealth of experience jara.... Many E-diots on this forum. The present C.E.O of Google has an MBA. The present C.E.O of Amazon has a Bachelors degree from Havard, and MBA from Havard. But this dropout is talking gibberish.... |
GrantIkenna:I pity you for even coming to my face to discuss about how much scammers are offering your dead beat brain..... You clearly did not understand my post, unfortunately, I can only explain it to you, I can't help you understand it. I have hired some of the best brains in the U.S, some of them are presently working with fortune 500 companies. By the way, my clients are more than satisfied with my job, I just turned down over 12 contracts due to having more than enough projects right now. Goodbye..... |
GrantIkenna:I don't discuss or converse with scammers and their workers....... I am way above that. And as for your 2 million..... Enjoy it. I don't live in Nigeria, so that 2 mil whatever is not enticing or meaningful to me. You are even boosting of working for thieves and been a part of the evil syndicate.... Shame on this sick headed idiot that you are. You are the major reason why genuine freelancers in your country can't get a job remotely. Shame on your ignorance. Goodbye mr scammer. |
GrantIkenna:Yahoo boys, I stopped reading when I saw yahoo boys. Stick to your delusion bro...... Lol. GTFO. |
Stephen0mozzy:Excellent path.... Please ride on. It was ranked the top 5 skills by LinkedIn in 2020. The core concentrations to focus more on are UX designer, UX researcher, and UX strategist. |
FanOfMyself:Thank you for sharing this amazing information. If you read through my post, you will notice that was what I was trying to communicate. Some of them want to be a certified Software developers in weeks...... I am proud of the steps you have taken so far, and I wish you success in your endeavours...... Keep grinding buddy. |
noob03saibot:Please disregard those illiterates here. How can you learn that in 1 month? |
I will like to enlighten those who are young. If your dream is to be in the I.T sector, and you have the opportunity to have your Bachelors degree in any computer related field, please do so and disregard those who are are saying degrees are not important. Your degree will give you an edge over others. Get certifications and project experience where necessary. Here is a screenshot of a job by Microsoft..... Don't listen to this illiterates. Even though some of the jobs might state "Bachelors degree required, however experience in related field are accepted". Trust me, they will pick someone who has same experience with you, however, if the person has a degree, he/she is most likely to be chosen. If you're older, get the necessary certifications while you're self learning, and do some projects. Do not listen to the illiterates here. The present CEO of Google have got an MBA. Don't let this illiterates deceive you.
|
Xpol:That is perfect. |
Tadeknkeepcalm:.... I sent it to you to read because I know you are brain dead. I don't know who you're, but I am sure you are dumb. Listen, I have done several projects for multinational companies that all you can do is to dream to be a part of. My present project is with a fortune 500 company, and it took 3 major interviews to nail the contract. Trust me, you won't even be shortlisted for the position let alone get an opportunity for an interview. I know you are brain dead, and I will not waste my time with you. Good bye felicia..... |
Tadeknkeepcalm:LMAO...In your first sentence, you wrote "High Schoolers" which means High school students. You can see you are a complete illiterate. Now I see why you couldn't comprehend my first post. You better go back to school and stop disgracing your family here..... So arrogant that you couldn't even read what you wrote. For your information, I have attached the meaning of the high schooler you wrote earlier. You started your first sentence with, and I quote "Continue. So many American high schoolers who have no higher education cert but are working fine in companies" - Literally, you just said so many American high school students without higher education cert...........You can see you are brain dead.....
|
yunqdady:Why not, but just build on your nursing with more certifications. The point I am making is simple. I.T roles are fast becoming professional positions. Most companies have noticed that a lot of people are coming into the I.T sector claiming to be what they are not, just because of the money. Hence the change in requirements. Will you hire someone with a degree in mathematics for a Nursing position? No. However, with a certification in CNA, that makes the candidate more suited for the role. |
Tadeknkeepcalm:Mr. Illiterate, I am not the cause of your frustration. I can explain it to you, but I can't help you understand it. No high school education, but are working as what in which company ? Lol. To work in Chic Fill A, or at Walmart, you need high school cert. Here you are expecting a multinational company to employ someone without a high school cert. For a huge position. You must be a big dreamer. Go online and apply for a top position at Microsoft or IBM without a high school cert. Illiterate.what has inferiority complex has to do with facts and requirements![]() Get a life dulls |
Techguy96:Your qualification matters, I am a Senior recuiter with several clients around the world. Qualifications are essential in salary negotiations, very important aspect of it. Yes, years of experience is important, but a masters degree with 3 years experience, and a 4 years experience with no degree, trust me, the salary of the masters degree candidate will be higher. Do you realise that in the U.S,your degree involves practical experience and Intern which serves as experience? |
GoodBoi1:You are missing my point, did you not read where I wrote that people can start with YouTube, but should ensure tbey get certifications along the way ![]() What I am saying is, to increase your chances and earnings get the necessary certifications and degree. If I have three good candidates in front of me, and after interview they all scored 92% Candidate A: 4 years experience, good character, knows the job, has a masters degree. Candidate B: 4 years experience, good character, knows the job, has a bachelors degree. Candidate C: 4 years experience, good character, knows the job, no degree. All things being equal. Who do you think I will hire?? Candidate A of cause. Even if I am going to hire candidate C, I am going to pay way lower. By the way, if a client requires someone with a degree, certainly, I am not going to consider candidate C. That is the point I am making. |
GoodBoi1:Lol..... I hire at least 20 - 30 candidates every month. I can share my LinkedIn and ATS with you to see my job posting and hiring. Those people you mentioned are based in Nigeria, Iam saying, nobody wants to hire a U.S based programmer without a B.sc. By the way, the millions you think they are earning is peanuts to those I hire with Masters degree. Take my word for it. I am not here to argue, I am stating facts. I belong to several U.S based recruiters groups and forums, nobody is looking for a Developer without a degree in the U.S. Go and kook at any U.S job post online. 93% requires a Bachelors degree except handymans job. I keep laughing when people say the word is changing and degree's are no longer needed. I can bet on it, 95% of Indian developers in the U.S have at least a Bachelors degree, and a large percent have a masters degree. That is why they have an edge over other nationals. They are gurus but still acquiring more knowledge. Sit there and think degrees are outdated when millions around the globe are pursuing degrees daily. I am presently hiring for Executive Assistant to a CEO, U.S based candidates, and we need someone with a Bachelors degree. I will not submit a candidate without a Bachelors degree, and I can tell you, no recruiter will do that either. Once a client sends you a candidate requirement, you have to stick to it......... Degrees are highly rated anywhere. |
iconnecta:Hi, the problem is that most U.S employers are demanding for U.S based candidates only. I have tons of candidates who are on H1-B visa, unfortunately, most employers are not ready to go through the process now. Especially with the Covid. Nevertheless, don't relent.... |
JIREN01:Lol.... Don't mind this developer wannabes. Give them a project that should not take more than a month, and they will finish in 9 months time. Even the Asian and Indian gurus did not learn in a month. |
All this Nigerian Developers with YouTube as learning centres... Lol They will tell you they learnt programming in 6 months with YouTube.. And they are gurus now... Lol You think YouTube learning vs someone who has a masters degree in Computer science, and started with a two years programming course/Certification are on the same level? You can start with YouTube, but make sure you get certifications, and be good at your niche. I am a Senior Recruiter based out of Nigeria, and most of my U.S clients require a minimum of Bachelors Degree in Computer science for entry level positions. Most Indians and Asian I have hired in the U.S have a Masters degree in computer science, that is one of the edges they have over YouTube developers. There is no way I will hire someone who learnt through YouTube alone, over someone with Bachelors degree, two years programming certification at a reputable institution. No way. |
donPhill:Calm down. Only 21 countries have won the world cup, non from Africa or Asia. Having said that, participation in the world biggest football even is an achievement. Some big dawgs don't even qualify sometimes. Having your country represented is enough, any other thing is a big bonus. |
Bigjosh10:Available for a quick video chat today? Will be unavailable tomorrow. |
Lol... I had a 3.4/5 which is 2.2. I got over 9 admissions for master degree in both U.S, U.K, Germany. If you have a 2.1 and during your masters degree application, you can't write a very strong statement of purpose, then you went to school to waste your parents money. Nobody cares about your 2.1 except Nigerian employers. Some of the best professors today had a 2.2. Without sounding proud, the guys who had 2.1 in my set back then cannot stand side by side with me on a debate on world issues, tech, big data, future tech, politics, government, etc. During the interviews for my masters degree applications back then, when I start talking, the interviewers either drop their pen to pay close attention because someone (me) is spitting venoms. Blink and I have left you behind. By the way, you can go to Havard with a 2.2 if you have something in your head to change the world. Till today, my father never asked me what I graduated with. He only congratulated me for graduating. He knows the boy is bright and degree class is not a determinant of success. Some millionaires and business tycoons had 2.2,some only went to technical colleges. The funny thing is, most schools overseas focus on your strengths through your academic transcript. For example, if you did well in economic courses, and you are applying to economics related courses, you are good to go. Also they calculate in percentage. A 3.4/5 is 68% and a 3.6/5 is 72%. This shows you that the supposed 2.1 only topped a strong 2.2 with just 4%. Strive hard to have a 2.1, if not, have a strong 2.2. Your GPA is converted to percentages. There is nothing wrong with having a 2.2,absolutely nothing. Except you have a very weak 2.2. Still a weak 2.2 aint gon determine your life. Focus on your dreams nigga. |
I am reading some rumours here about Ken.... That is normal. One thing I have learnt in my journey through life is to pick my fights. Don't fight a fight that you're not sure the people behind you will always be by your side no matter what. Also, if you're fighting for a course, be sure that those behind you will continue the fight even when you are gone. I look at the present Ogoni leaders, they are all after thier pockets, and they do not care what happens to the people. This wasn't the reason Ken fought for his people. DON'T LOSE YOUR LIFE FOR UNLOYAL PEOPLE. |
DropsMic:How many countries have you been to? You guys keep talking about black man mentality when someone talks about prayer or God. Even your dear whites say that a lot. I have been to several countries, dated several races, as a matter of fact, my Caucasian friends makes those statements alot. Any little thing, Mofe take it to God in prayers. Stop this stereotypical crypto shit...... Its a global thing not a black man thing. |
Here is my advise for anyone going into blogging, have a product or service you render, then link your blog to it. Don't just do blogging. If your blogging is on the travel niche for example, make sure you are good at booking flights, hotels, and be a travel consultant, that way, your blog is attached to your business. If you're blogging on mobile devices, make sure you have a good link with companies that sell mobile devices, that way you're not just blogging on mobile devices, you're also into mobile device sales and services. In other words, be a complete package.... |
That is because they hire incompetent buffons. Even if you want to copy, why not change the words and other informations? Damn. |
generalwo:You are right, however, most celebrities and addicts face similar battles like everyone else. The question is, why is everyone not taking drugs?? You might answer the above question as, we all handle our battles differently. Then I will ask again, why were they not into drugs until they made money or became popular? I believe peer pressure, wrong groups/company, individual personality are the leading causes of addiction. I do tell people, purify your heart before fame and comes, because MONEY/FAME amplifiers whatever it catches in your hands. If you're a giver, when money comes, you become a big giver, if you're into women, when money comes, you want more and more women. |
Ekugbeh:Now its no longer coronavirus isolation, its snow story. Lock downs were unnecessary Imagine Brazil, The United States, South Africa, India, without lock down measures.I have interviewed over 700 Indias in the last couple of weeks, and I can show you proofs. From my research and survey, the lock down saved India. India would have been a total death Republic by now. In South Africa, I travelled to over 17 cities, and visited a couple of Covid clinics and hospitals, and I can tell you that the lock down has been instrumental to South Africas recovery from the virus. |
Ekugbeh:Lol..... If you can't grasp the easy and simple link I sent to you, how can you grasp the deeper ones. This is a direct link from the cdc showing that the virus has been isolated. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/lab/grows-virus-cell-culture.html Whenever a new virus or a new variant of virus is detected, on of the first steps embark by scientists and virologist around the world is to isolate the virus in its pure form. You're here telling me some stories that the CDCs can't provide any proof. For your information, I am a research consultant, and I have had to travel to over 10 countries since the start of covid. In the cause of my travels, I have met with several virologist mustly in the United States, so you can keep your ignorance to yourself. Like I said, your ignorance is legendary. |
seguno2:You want to educate a certified and qualified Ediot. Basket mouth is a clown. There are haircuts for 5, 10, 20 - 40 dollars. People will be comparing a country whose daily minimum wage is Nigerias monthly minimum wage. Even Nigerias minimum wage is not even in place. I learnt some people are paid 10,000 naira per month. |
