I don't see anything wrong with the wife and her family expressing their emotions and concerns. The reasons for their concerns may not necessarily be because of movies. Not every woman likes to share her man. I personally think they were just trying to discourage him. I mean it hurts, I can't imagine how after being with a man for 15 years, he decides to marry a second wife. she made some highly emotional submissions, detailing how she had suffered with him in the time of want, her commitment, faithfulness and loyalty; and how hurt she feels by his sudden decision to marry again despite all his initial promises to her never to marry again. This doesn't sound like someone who is only afraid of rivalry. I think it's respectful to inform his wife first but this is just my opinion. |
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the unbeliever.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2956 ...................................................................................................................................................................... This world is like a prison for the believer, meaning that the way a prisoner isn't free and is bound by rules, the affair of a believer is the same, this world is not one of freedom for them but one of rules and obligations towards Allah. The believer at all times keeps these rules and obligations in front of him. The way a prisoner doesn't make his home the prison the believer is the same, where by he never sees this world as his home, but as a temporary dwelling full of trials until he reaches his final home of Jannah. For a disbeliever the matter is on the complete other end of the scale, he sees the life of this world as jannah and does whatever his heart desires. He sees this world as his final home and acts accordingly to it, he pays no heed to the warnings that are given to him and does not submit to the will and obligations of Allah. He sees this world as his for the taking and makes it his goal to acquire as much as he can and to derive pleasure from it, due to this he sees this world as a place of reward and becomes blind to the reality of its evil and hereafter. https://alilmunnafi..com/2008/02/hadith-13-this-world-is-prison-for.html |
This news ruined my mood. I read on IG that the girls reached out to the Nigerian embassy but got no response. Apparently, it isn't the first time the Nigerian embassy don't respond to citizens in distress. Smh |
lalanice:I agree. |
Discussed this topic with my cousin a few weeks ago. Some reasons fathers are underappreciated include: -Not spending enough time with family -Focused on making money -Sacrifices fathers make aren't always announced openly or noticed like that of the mum. For example, not all kids see how hard dads work to maintain the family but they'll see when their mum leaves her job to cook or pick them up from school. -Sometimes mums can be overly emotional and pit kids against their dads |

k4kenny:Wow I have to say I am quite surprised that the whatsapp group is still active. That means that learning is still going on Alhamdulliah. Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (peace and blessing upon him) as saying: You would tread the same path as was trodden by those before you inch by inch and step by step so much so that if they had entered into the hole of the lizard, you would follow them in this also. We said: Allah's Messenger, do you mean Jews and Christians (by your words) "those before you"? He said: Who else (than those two religious groups)? |
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about that which will admit most people to Paradise. He said: “Fear of Allaah and a good attitude.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (2004); he said it is saheeh ghareeb. It was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi. |

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “Sin may be more beneficial for a person, if it leads him to repent, than doing a lot of acts of worship. This is what is meant by the words of one of the salaf: ‘A person may commit a sin and enter Paradise because of it, or he may do an act of worship and enter Hell because of it.’ They said: ‘How is that?’ He said: ‘He may commit a sin and continues to think about it, and when he stands or sits or walks he remembers his sin, so he feels ashamed and repents and seeks forgiveness and regrets it, so that will be the means of his salvation. And he may do a good deed and continue to think about it, and when he stands or sits or walks he remembers it and it fills him with self-admiration and pride, so it is the cause of his doom. So the sin may be the factor that leads him to do acts of worship and good deeds and to change his attitude so that he fears Allaah and feels shy before Him and feels humiliated before Him, hanging his head in shame and weeping with regret, seeking the forgiveness of his Lord. Each of these effects is better for a person than an act of worship that makes him feel proud and show off and look down on people. Undoubtedly this sin is better before Allaah and is more likely to bring salvation than one who admires himself and looks down on others, and who thinks that he is doing Allaah a favour. Even if he says words that indicate something other than that, Allaah is the Witness over what is in his heart. Such a person may feel hatred towards people if they do not hold him in high esteem and humiliate themselves before him. If he were to examine himself honestly, he would see that clearly.” Madaarij al-Saalikeen, 1/299 |
