1forall and CrazyMan is it possible to move this to the health section since I have not gotten a response? |
Hello, I'd like to direct a question to the nurses and healthcare professionals in the house, I would like to ask if nurse practitioners are recognized in Nigeria. Do they practice? If they do where can I read about the ethics and scope of practice guiding their profession? Just to give a bit of a background, "a nurse practitioner is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who has additional responsibilities for administering patient care than RNs.NPs can prescribe medication, examine patients, diagnose illnesses, and provide treatment, much like physicians do" (nurse.org). https://nurse.org/resources/nurse-practitioner/ |
Companionship and having children are my top reasons. I really look forward to breastfeeding and raising my children. |

I don't agree with chimamanda on this one. I also don't see why she would get upset that Hilary Clinton identifies herself as a wife. I don't see anything wrong with Hilary identifiying herself as a wife first. It is her right and choice and there is nothing wrong with that. |
Removed the original post because I received the answers to my question. |
dominique:This is regarding the foodstuff that Nigerians bring into Qatar. |

I have only listened to one of Abu Khadijah's lecture which was the one I posted. I think it was a great reminder. Thanks for the suggestion. I will take it into consideration. Jazakallahu Khyran. |
Salam alaykum, I hope this thread is still being read and serving benefit. I just wondering if there are any sisters that still read this thread who wear the niqab or know a sister that wears the niqab. I am curious about what their experiences are like. What changed after the niqab? *Note* I am not creating a new thread because I think it might get derailed. |
Though I don't understand what the JOHESU bruhaha is about, I was disappointed to see healthcare professionals claiming that they are superior to one and other. Seriously in 2018, we are still arguing if doctors are better than nurses and vice versa? I can only imagine what it's like to work with people having this type of mindset. How does inter-professional collaboration take place in the healthcare setting? How can we work effectively as a team if we are arguing about who is better? The healthcare environment should not be hierarchical in nature, every single profession has their own role to play in healthcare and everyone is important, including the aid workers, cleaners etc. If the cleaners went on a strike, as a nurse I'd struggle with knowing the right proportion of cleaning agent to mix for the different types of precaution I was never learnt that. |
Honetly disappointed at this woman's post. Really? You don't tell women to learn to cook to keep a man because that is a false assertion, you should tell them to learn to cook for their own benefits, for their own personl development, for their health, and not for a man. |
I am curious as to why demmzy's response was hidden for the second time. Makes it hard to follow the discussions. |

I didn't have many beatings as a child so when I think about the worst beating I had, only one incidence comes to mind. It was many years ago, I was close to finishing primary six and I was writing the common entrance exam to get into Command Secondary school in Kaduna and since I would be travelling, I wanted to look fly. I went to make my hair for the big day. Now my parents told me to return back home if the lady was too busy because I wasn't allowed to walk alone late at night. Long story short, I left home up by 3 or something and I wasn't home past 8 because I went somewhere else to make my hair. I don't remember if I didn't have a phone or I forgot it at home but either way my parents couldn't reach me. When I wasn't home by 8, they became frantic and started looking for me. They went to the shop I was supposed to make my hair and the lady said I left her place. My parents went to my friend's house close to the shop and they said they hadn't seen me all day, so my friend's parent also started looking for me. Luckily for me at that time I went to my friend's house after making my hair because it was too late to walk home alone so they dropped me home and I received the terrible beating. |
Alennsar:I agree a 100%. |
Salam alaykum, I have a question and I would like both male and female prospective. So my question is, should spouses share how they spend their finances with each other? For example a man who is providing for his family, does his wife have to know how he spends the rest of his earning after providing for the family? I have mixed views when it comes to this. I feel like being transparent with how spouse spends his/her money builds trust but at the same time it can cause problems if the other party doesn't agree with the way the money is spent. More so, if the man is providing for his adequately family, I think he has a right his money. This is the same way I feel that a woman must not always tell her husband how she sends her money. Plus, sometimes we may need to spend money in private things and each spouse has a right to that privacy as long as it does not affect the family. |
Alennsar:I don't want to seem ignorant but I don't know what oyaa is either lol. Modified* found out that it's "white moi moi" ![]() Jazakallahu khayran. |
Jazakallahu Khayran OP It was a nice read. My only question is, what is ekuru? |
1) Regardless what position you are in life, there is always someone in a worse situation so be grateful 2)Life is all about balance- determine your priorities. Don't work too much and end up with failing health. Relax, work hard, and have fun as well 3) Assertiveness is an important skill to have 4) Money doesn't buy happiness (but it is still the single most important determinant of health) 5) Don't compare yourself to others, everyone is moving at their own pace 6) Everything has a time frame, you can't be it all, all the time. Everyone has their own time to shine so don't get upset if yours is over. 7)Put yourself first; it's not selfish to do so and life is much better that way Fake it until you make it; basically how you package and represent yourself is how others will view you |
