My experience is about the dynamic NYC Subway system. At first, I though is too complex for anyone to comprehend. |
@ Poster, she will be at advantage, if she tell the US Embassy about her new job. This is an added family tie and a good reason to come back after her vacation. However, the US Embassy do refused mothers or aged parents with no previous traveling experience nor good family tie. It's a chance of luck and prayers too. |
@ Poster, I sympathize with you. You are not the first or the last to experience such scam. I had a similar experience on my first visit to NYC / US and I was scammed by this non yellow cab driver @JFK for $150+40 (tax)=$190! The Spanish Guy took me from JFK to Port Authority terminal. I think this trend happens to new visitors or tourists that have no friends nor families to pick them at the Airport. Each time, me and my friends with similar experience recall this events, we laughed about it. Afterwards, we tagged it, "Welcome to New York City"! If the vehicle was a "yellow car", then you can make a complaint about the driver for over charge@ NYC Yellow cab & Limousine website,http://www.nyc.gov/html/tlc/html/home/home.shtml However, you can try to contact the New York Port Authority Police for more information. |
@poster, US Green Card holder get finger printed at the point of enter. Infact, I got finger printed in February 2010. The Abud's action in December25th, 2009 has changed everything. The lines for US Citizens and Green Card holders is different now or like before. |
@ Poster, Thank God for the journey mercies! I'm kind of curious, if you don't mind, did you get the SA visa that you paid for ? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-505716.0.html#msg6700048 |
@Poster. Thanks for your post. I would suggested that you get a letter of recommendation from the lecturer or Professor stating how and what the conference will benefits you. Secondly, I'II study more about the conference via the websites to know more about the venue, time and dates etc Thirdly, If you are sponsoring your self be prepared to have your statement of account and job letter for vacation ready. However, check this link for some important info on your likely visa type, https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-460440.0.html |
@Poster. Thanks for letting us know your urgent concern. While reading your post, I will like to point an issue that I think you should first addressed. Firstly, You need to establish the purpose of your trip either is for visit, vacation or as tourist etc. I noticed you kind of confused or you had multiple locations ( conference and visits to sister in law). Secondly, you've got good chances of getting a B1/B2 visit because of your profession (Med Student) and also the conference is related to your field of study or area of specialization. For further info on the likely visa type, see the following link, https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-460440.0.html However, the US Embassy doesn't believe in paper work outside their country that they can't verify. Rather they somethings base their judgement on their skilled interviews conducted by consulars through questions and answers section. I will advised you to have these following documents available such as hotel reservation for five days as conference attendee( tourist catergory), Med School I.d, letter of leave/vacation or from Med school stating you as a student, letter of sponsorship from your mother ( notorized this letter). |
@Poster, did you finally get the SA Visa ? I saw your last post that you are in Malaysia. |
The US Citizenship practise guide contains 100 questions and answers. You are mandated to practised all the questions and answers. I gathered from the USCIS interviewer that you will be asked 10 randomly questions and if you get the first six question correct. The interviewer wouldn't bother to go further to complete the 10 questions. Also, the questions are divided into two parts. They are oral and written questions. The first part is the oral questions about the geographical, government, civic responsibility and America history etc. The second part is the written part. This is more of testing your written and understanding skills. For example I was asked to write "Abraham Lincoln is one of US President". However, the questions and written test also with the interview lasted less than 10-15mins !!! I think is piece of pie. |
The process could take between 5 or 6 months and it varies from states to states. I lived in NYC and I filed for my Citizenship on January 20th. Some days later, i received a letter from USCIS that my application was received. Two weeks after, I received another letter requesting for my finger prints scheduled for February 23rd and also alternative day, if you missed or can't make the appointment the other days are Wednesdays only .(Note: You have to be there on time or else you could be bounced on this alternative days).In addition, you will be given a study guide for your US Citizenship test at the finger print centre. I couldn't meet up my appointment on scheduled date (23rd ) and I was bounced on Febuary 24th because i didn't get there on time. I finally did my finger prints on 3rd of March and I recieved another letter requesting for additional documents on my interview date . By April 20th, I recieved another letter for my US Citizenship interview date scheduled for May 20th. However,I passed my interview and I became a US Citizen by taken the oath of allegency, got nauralization certificate same day in June 16. |

@poster very interesting topic. |
@Nuclearboy, I'm not getting your point. |
My Pastor friend called me to seek my opinion on this issue. Eight months ago, he joined this local church in the States and four months later, he became one of the associated pastors out of four pastors excluding the General Overseer. The church membership is 100 at this time. He told me that he was given a six months probation before he was allowed to ministry and absorbed into the pastoral board. During this time, he observed and noticed alot of mistakes or errors that needed to be fixed. Two weeks ago, he wrote a seven point agenda and gave it to the G.O to go through. The GO looked at the points and refused to accept the change. Meanwhile, my friend told the G.O that he wouldn't seat among other aassociatepastors because he felt uncomfortable with the no grow of the ministry that was founded 15 years ago! Last week sunday, my Pastor friend refused to sit at among the Pulpit and this got the GO upset. The GO summon my friend and expressed his displeased and also affirmed his stand of " no turning back"on the seven point agenda. This also spark the nonchalant attitude of my pastor's friend and he refused to compel. However, the GO is more concerned about my friend's action (refusal to sit among other pastors at the Pulpit because he (General Overseer) feels this may divided the church, rather than the necessary change needed to grow the church. Therefore, my Pastor friend and the GO agreed that he submit a "letter of resignation" as a sign to step aside from the Pulpit, he want to do this in good faith as the GO pointed this is formal way to go about it and it wouldn't divide the church. My Pastor friend is thinking otherwise, what do you think ![]() ![]() ![]() |
@ Chaircover, thanks for your response. I gave my opinion on this issue by using the following words in my view. They are "my experience", "In most cases" and "some women". I never mentioned "ALL WOMEN". However, I did mentioned two reasons and this views are my opinion or experience. Therefore, I can't speak for "All Women" in the military, abroad or stay home mummy. I hope you got my point. |
@Poster, I want to commend your courage and understanding for posting this sensitive issue. Based on my experience with single and married couples. In most cases, there are two reasons why married women cheats on their spouses. They are lack of intimacy and sexual dysfunction. The first reason is lack of intimacy. It means they experience insufficient intimacy or not at all ( they don't feel any thing). Some women are sexually active and they seems to enjoy intimacy a lot. This traits or behavior could be biological or psychology or cultural etc. While others are not getting the best from their spouses due to factors such as size, sexual orientation and religious taboo etc. Due to this needs, these sets of married women seeks their gratification outside at the expense of their relationship. Remember, Abraham Maslow hierarchy of needs put "intimacy" as a philosophically needs on the pyramid. Secondly, the other reason is sexual dysfunction. I've seen cases of spouses lured or carjored their partners into marriage under the pretest of born again, "sex after marriage". However, the poor woman will found out the husband is impotent or cannot father a child. What would you advise this unluck victim to do? Therefore, we need to have a deep understanding of the probelm or hear two sides as the some of the people pointed before passing judgement. I strongly believed that there is more to this issue than this. For this reason, let asked the poster a couple of questions. Did you notice any similar behavior during courtship, five years? How did you deal with them? However, the answers will give us more knowledge about the complete story. It is my opinion that we apply wisdom in this issue. |
@ Afulstop, I believe this topic or issue was discussed previously. This is the link: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-460440.0.html |
@Nuclearboy, your point is noted. |
@Nuclear can you proof your claim that Pastor Chris is a member of freemason. |
sonuga:Which one be "sexual phobia"? ![]() |
Thanks for your post. I really want to know, if you want our views, opinion or agreement on "faith" or "Psychic powers"? I'm just curious. |
@Carolece good job sister, @Girl864 is advisable to give credit to whom credit is due. If someone copy and paste another person's work and did not reference the original author/writer, this action is known as plagarism. For example, how will you feel, if someone else takes credit for your work or idea? I guess you will feel sad. However, It will be better if the poster reference the original publication. |
@ Poster, I really appreciate your post. Kindly, provide your reference to this line for better understanding " Of all the studies on divorce sexual incompatibility is never cited as a main reason why people divorce". Line 8. Secondly, I'm appealing with no disrespect, I will like to know, if the poster is married or a married counselor? However, I presume knowledge like this is drawn from wealthy of experience. Thanks again, for this in depth on marriage. |
@KunleOshob and Petres_007, true talk. I just wondered. I dey sit don and look!!! ![]() |
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? [/color] If a man of God dies, It is based on what he believes. Death will rule over a man that believes in death.
