The new oil well for northerners to drying us (Nigeria) dry. A new business concept for looting and sucking us dry.

Unfortunately is the innocent majorities that pays the biggest price for this ill calculated act.

Ethnicity shouldn't be the device for choosing our leaders in Nigeria but our electoral act should be amended to carry all along.

Whichever tribe you belong or come from in as much as you are competent and qualify...you should run. But, an Hausa should only be president if s/he wins votes from from other tribes, the same goes for an Igbo or Yoruba or any other minority tribes vying for that position.

We shouldn't decide our election based on the number of votes the candidates has but rather the number of votes from the different geopolitical region s/he was able to win excluding that which s/he comes from. That's: Each States of the federation is counted as 1 regardless of the population and size. Where you able to win 2/3 of that State, if yes then you won the State as 1win. The same goes for the remainder of the 36States and FCT as the decider if there's a tie.

This will ensure that a candidate is accepted by all Nigerians not just a section. It will also take out tribalism. The presidential tenure should be 5years with maximum of 2-terms a president can hold office. Mid-term election should be carried out to checkmate performance.

Our constitution is one of the biggest problems facing Nigeria today. It is not clear enough. Each time a section is being challenged in court. Well, it's either we have it rewritten or we encourage people like this to keep addressing the flaws for clarity.

Security meeting after the other...There still no improvement on the security situation rather it gets worse. The security situation needs to improve...It is the primary responsibility of any government and each time Nigeria government is always failing it with F9. The only thing that's easy to get a destination on... Total failure this government...

The only business this country know is the oil business and we're not even running in good. Other oil producing countries in the middle-East are making good use of the gains of oil and reinvesting it on their people and infrastructure.

The one thing this country is good for is fighting and killing themselves for positions. Absolutely no brain as to how to make an impact on the life's of Nigerians.

All States in Nigeria don't think or find other means of generation revenue from their State...all waiting to share the peanut generated by oil. Shame. Meanwhile Saudi Arabia's State owned oil company made over 200 billion dollars of revenue in their last financial year.

Once again, shame to you Nigeria.

Loan loan loan...The only thing our leaders know, they don't know how to maintain and make money for the country.

I know government is not here to make money but we should have means to sustain it. Our population is about 200 million plus and our savings is just barely below 50 million US dollars. While the government don't reason how to grow this savings at least to be proportionate to the size of the population.

Nigerian Police is end time police. 99.9% of the time for the negative reasons on the news. A synonym we should start using Nigeria to tag or label criminals and crimes in Nigeria = Nigerian Police

A 52-year-old Canadian, Kyliuk Morris, on Tuesday said policemen in Ogun State assisted him to deliver the N2.5m ransom paid to his kidnappers to regain his freedom.

Morris, in a chat with PUNCH Metro in Abeokuta, said his ordeal started when he was abducted by the hoodlums at Fidiwo, in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.


The victim said he was heading for Ibadan, Oyo State, when the incident happened on March 13, 2019.

The Canadian noted that he spent six days in the kidnappers’ den, adding that he was forced to eat eba and drink dirty water.

Morris explained that he was travelling with his wife to fix his car when the two gunmen shot at his car, which made him to drive into a ditch.

He noted that when his wife tried to escape to get help, the kidnappers shot at her, while he was led to a bush.

“I spent six days in the den of the kidnappers. They beat me up, while my wife ran around to raise the ransom they demanded,” he added.

The victim said he was forced to call his sister in Canada who provided the ransom before he regained his freedom.
He said, “A policeman, who collected the ransom, paid the kidnappers to get me released from my abductors.”

The Canadian, who had been married to a Nigerian, Mrs Justina Kyliuk at the Marriage Registry, Accra, Ghana, since December 9, 2014, said they had been together for the past five years.

He stated that he decided to stay in Abeokuta to set up a farming business before the incident occurred.
When asked about how he paid the ransom, Morris said, “A policeman assigned from Abuja gave my wife a telephone number to call an officer from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Ogun State.

“Aside from the ransom, they (police) asked my wife to give them N20,000 as transportation fare. They said they risked their lives to get me out.
“I want the government to be aware of what happened to me. The Nigerian government has been pushing for foreign investors to come, especially for agriculture and yet, there is no security; absolute zero security.

“I am not calling for a special treatment because I am a Canadian. I want people to be aware of what is happening. I just did through personal experience.
“If they (the police) have a job to do, they should do it. I think government at all levels should hold the police responsible for what they are hired for.

“If someone is kidnapped, the police should do their job. My wife went to see them, but they made no effort. My wife told them the exact place where I was; nothing was done. They dragged their feet.”
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the Canadian’s abduction and release.

He described the allegation of being part of the ransom payment as false.

“He was rescued; what he said is impossible, who is that kidnapper that will come and collect ransom from the police?
“It is not possible because the police have been campaigning against people paying ransom to kidnappers.

“If people stop paying ransom to them, they will stop the business of kidnapping; so, the police cannot encourage them.

“Immediately the case was reported, the state Commissioner of Police deployed all our tactical squads to find him at all cost and eventually, he was rescued.
“We are not aware of any ransom deal. What we know is that he was kidnapped and rescued by the police,” the police spokesman said.

Let's the conversation be on any candidates that would be brave enough to investigate and probe all public servants that has held any public position both in the past and at present...in which public fund has be missing or missed under his/her watch. What comes to mind is from 1980 - till date.

The candidate should also have a sound track in his/her profession life and character...

Lawyers seems to be thriving in Nigeria since 1999. And more so at present...the Nigerian electoral law and process has made this profession a manna given from above.

The laughable side is that justice is served slowly or never... Dubious politicians seems to hide under this loop hole. This is yet another such process that is open to endless battle in court.

Ruling Nigeria shouldn't be only on one specific tribe We should revisit our constitution because it is not fair. The Northerners has the most population put together. No-one should cheat his/her way through election. If, it happens once without being checked or contested against. It will happen again.

My recommendation is that each State in Nigeria should be counted as 1 vote (the candidate that wins that State as 1 and so on) no matter the population. The Candidate should satisfy winning in at least one of the newly defined geopolitical zone of the country and the FCT as the decider vote (at score 1/4 of electoral votes, if there's a tire.

We should also have voting week, where voting will be open to voters prior to the D-day of voting. This is necessary to present shutting down the economy because of voting. It will also increase more voting participation.

If the results doesn't reflect on the voters choice then they should contest it lawfully through the legal system. No one will enjoy or stand be cheated. But, I'm not in support of violent of any kind. #AllLifeMatter and #AllLegitimateVoteMustCount
