PoliticsRe: FG Suspends FRC Corporate Governance Code by Montaque(m): 9:48am On Jan 10, 2017
Laid2001:
The Obazee of a guy is biting more than he can chew. FRC has no business regulating more than finance and accounting of the various organisations!

So if he is dabbling into corporate governance of the various organisations, it is outside its mandate. He should have focused on the finances and how it is accounted for. Shikena. Moreso, this was the same guy used to scuttle SLS then. He made FGN to spend money on unnecessary litigation then which FRCN lost to SLS. Although, it was like a blessing in disguise for SLS as probably would not have been Amir of Kano without that conflict with GEJ government.!

FRC has been moving from litigation to litigation in trying to muscle several organizations. More so, his tenure has ended. It is already five years since his assumption of office!.

What FRC should have done, is to put strong regulations in place to control how the Churches and the other NGOs run their finances. It could even stipulate that no signatory to the finance books and account of the organisations (or be in charge of the money) can remain so for more than certain no of years. And even empower banks to implement same.
what you suggested is even an interference in Nigeria's dictionary. Seems the popular opinion wants government to leave religious houses on their own entirely. We just keep sacrificing transparency for politics, religion and ethnicity.

You blame GEJ for every damn thing.
You need enlightenment bro. The Act was passed into law in 2012. It requires a Committee to sit and promulgate a code. This code which contain the controversial sections of 20 years tenure for General Overseer was made in 2016.

First great job by President Buhari.

I hope the law will be put on hold till eternity.

That man have Bleep up big time.

Banana Adeboye prayer will scattered them all. You cannot fight God and win.

More will follow
the worst action of late by Mr. President.
Even Mr. Timothy who is happy over his sack is a mediocre. He doesnt like the Mr. Obazee because the later maintains standard, in line with his job. This is the most proactive piece of legislation affecting religious houses in Nigeria, and Mr. President doesn't have enough balls to implement it because of 2019. Since they cant pay tax, let the leadership be tenural, 20 years is enough to disciple people to whom you will hand over, jesus christ did his in 3 years.

Africans just want to stay and be heard, yet we condemn Jammeh of Gambia.

Buhari sacked the only man doing his work in Nigeria.

And for you to know it wasn't about government intermedling in politics, will Pa Adeboye come back now Obazee has been sacked? I think he had it in mind to hand over alive and watch his protege pastor his flocks under his supervision.

Same here. I've since ceased to be a fanatical supporter of Chelsea the moment the coach started benching Nigeria's highest paid player ever and second most decorated after Kanu. Ordinarily, I should still be supporting Chelsea because of Victor Moses but I don't know why I don't see the dude as a compatriot. Watch as many Chelsea fans start decamping. The worst in terms of Nigerian fans will hit Chelsea when they must have squeezed out all the juice in Moses. By then, we'll be back to the days of Arsenal and ManU fans in Nigeria.
Chelsea became the darling of football lovers when the club has the highest number of blacks in their 1st 11. Now we have other clubs doing same, even have Nigerians playing prominently in their team. Leicester City and Watford Fc are example. the only love i have for Chelsea now is because of V. Moses. i will devote time to watch Musa and Ndidi. Success and Jude hasnt been featuring in Watford FC and it borders me.

Christianity EtcRe: "As In Gambia, As In RCCG?" By Pastor Ebun Olu-Adegboruwa. by Montaque(m):
what i saw in RCCG yesterday made me to have a rethink over this resignation issue.
it seemed as if some members were angry with Daddy G.O for retiring, cos they want him as the G.O as long as he is alive and because he is the church personified. The law had to be quoted to calm them.

i thought of two situations:
1. there was a time last year when the feeling was that there is a leadership tussle in RCCG on who will take over Pastor Adeboye, which made him to say that its not yet his time and that those who are looking for his death should not be expectant. but the feeling remained. it seems the man of God now wants to retire while alive so as to maintain peace and tranquility among the rank and file of the leadership. the reliance on this law may be a strong reason which the members will not gainsay or fight against, the law may be the fall-guy here.

2. I also feel that the man of God may be have triggered a revolution. he has set the ball rolling for other pastors who will always be judged by his stance on this issue of retiring. RCCG has been pro-FG and they will do many things out of their way to progress the changes promised by Buhari. Just like when you support a law, and you volunteer to be a guinea pig for its implementation, to show others it doesnt hurt.

whatever happens, i respect the humility of The Man of God. it has been exceptional since i know him. this is just the latest example. Bill gate had to resign as microsoft CEO to focus on his work in his lab at home, which led to designing the windows 10. Pastors should make disciples and hand over.

TravelRe: Man Dies In Accident 3 Days After His Wedding On Their Way Back To Lagos (Pics) by Montaque(m): 6:27pm On Jan 08, 2017
70% of all the weddings I ve attended, something bad happens. Fighting at the venue, accident before or after the d-day, strange sickness, business failure and loss, lost money or treasure to swindlers, unexplained engine/vehicle breakdown, something bad in that category.
When it happened to a cousin (accident on our way back from the trad. marriage) I asked our elders why its so, they talked about spirits on either side of the couple, who may be annoyed with the other partner. Some attribute it to spiritual wife/husband.

There are always two sides to a story. Or more.
However, the narrative above has not answered for the murderous pattern of the fulanis all over Nigeria, and in neighbouring countries. They and all issues about them always involve stealthy attacks and massacre of lives.

CecyAdrian:
Are you serious?? No wonder all you lot think this way, I may need a pastor when I have my bible and the free gift of the Holy Ghost?

Sit down and study your bible, stop depending on a man who has one head as you, invite the Holy Spirit to interpret for you.
If you asked the questions, it shows you need an interpreter. The ethiopean eunuch read the bible but needed philip to explain to him, so don't down-play the divine role of scriptural instruction of a teacher. I know that's the trend everywhere on NL, but the reality is that most of these people don't know that God gave some special set of people the gift of teaching saints and ministration.

Now to the main issue. Jesus told peter that he will build his church upon "the divine revelation that he is the christ"; not on peter as a person or his character which is fallible. Jesus is the rock, the chief cornerstone, the truth and the life. It is upon this truth that the church is built, not upon peter or any apostle for that matter.
That is why even after peter betrayed christ, and he manifested hypocrisy as regards the gentiles and after his death, the church moves forward, because it is built on what can never die, lie or fail - which is the truth that jesus is the son of God and that he is the christ (meaning the saviour of mankind).
I pity you if your christian faith is built upon a man.

No matter how they want to coat this thing, it's simply not right!

It's just like Peter who is the rock on which the church is built on saying that he is no more the rock/leader in Jerusalem but he is stil the rock on which other church over the world should be built on.

RCCG stop using government as an excuse. What am I even saying huh

When are they IDGAF crew arriving please angry
Apostle peter was not the rock on which the church was built. Jesus is that rock

Did the news of Arebgesola clearing all backlogs of salaries not grace the frontpage??

If Arebgesola has utilised the funds for what the presidency advised, then there will not be unnecessary searchlight on him.

Fayose got same funds and he is still reluctant to pay backlogs of workers salaries.

Imagine his commissioner for Finance claiming Ekiti wage bill is 5billion. How possible is that?? Ekiti that receives 2b from FAAC as monthly allocation is having a monthly wage bill of 5billion.

Let Fayose do the right thing, and he will be praised for it. When Fayemi handed over to him, Fayemi was only owing 2 months and Fayose publicised it to the whole world. Now same Fayose is owing a record 8 months! And he is still reluctant in using available funds to offset the monies owed workers.

Infact Fayemi would have even cleared the 2 months before he left if not for Fayose that went to the banks not to grant the state govt over draft, and the vindictive PDP led FG govt, which prioritised payments to only PDP states.
I will access overdraft from Zenith Bank this monday, so that u will amortize it in future when it is due. Fayemi should deal with his shit, and allow Fayose deal with his own. There's enough shit already for everybody.

You should know that employment letter is desirable, but not a must when you have other means of proving your being employed. Identity Card, business card, Note of fees on salary, staff register, etc.
the guy can still prove his case if he wants to. Though he may not be reinstated, cos he is on a personal service; he may only get his salary in lieu and/or damages for unlawful termination.

The message here is demand for restructuring, that is a renegotiated country.

Governor Wike was speaking within the context of Biafra, and the fact is that the people of Ijaw nation and the entire Niger Delta are not seeking for a splinter country nor do they have any business with iPod confusionist group.

Nigeria must be restructured to make any progress
Shallow. If it sounds so easy, why is that point hard to reach?
A restructured Nigeria will still crave for one solution - Break up. Restructure is just a precursor, an appetizer.

ddippset:
Sentiments aside, 90% of people just sit down in their homes and pass a guilty verdict on the herdsmen. Yes there are stories about herdsmen allowing their cattle to trample upon farmlands and there are stories about herdsmen killing villagers but there are also stories about villagers hijacking cattle and killing them for meat and also villagers killing herdsmen over arguments. At the risk of sounding very very politically incorrect, I would say that much of the crimes committed against herdsmen go unreported and unpublicized while much of those committed by the herdsmen get publicized. Nevertheless the security guys must be more proactive to stop the killing of anybody. Anyone who kills in the name of herdsmen, farmers crisis should be hanged.
So after a pattern of attack has been created in almost all states in Nigeria, you can still not see the picture?
All Nigeria hates the herdsmen, that's why there is fracas with them everywhere?
I don't want to believe u at all

The rule of nature is still portent, nevertheless one must sustain a relationship and marry. The whole thread here is just about finding the way around this.

I like your comment. The pastor should have taken the decency route. Not by quoting bible or citing the GO. Just to be decent. Some organisation want their members and staff clean shaven, that's their idea of decency. But its not a measure of righteousness.
Tradition of men has made the word of god of no effect. If u disobey this innocuous advice, they will term u a sinner, as soon u will start believing u are a sinner.
