@ qute_bloke i totally agree with you. dont mind them. if you seriously want to play real soccer (not the one that you will bang in 20-0), then play fifa. i had fifa 08 and just upgraded to version 9 so much happier. although to be fair, EA let me down. the graphics in fifa08 is much better than in 9. |
@ olukunle well said, pls take note everyone. |
i have an amd turion as one of my laptops and i have done real life test in comparion with the pentium dual core ( that is if thats what yur comparing the turion to) technically speaking, an amd turion (whether dual core or single core), is equal to the pentiums. this is becos, a pentium dual core is basically an underpowered core2duo. |
@ akdada chill out, i really have nothing to gain, i help ppl with their computer related issues. i work for cisco systems and am ok ofcourse, you have a point on buying pirated software and crap like that. but what am not collecting money from him, i am just helping Semi to be productive in a stress free way where he doesnt have to pay nothing to nobody. thats what i do. maybe others are doing it but not me, pls check all my post and check whether i have asked anyone for business or whatever you call it. Thank You. @ Semi they are possibiliies why yur office might not have expired. one, its must hvae gone into reduced functionality mode ( which i doubt) or its was never a trial version. in this case, yur good to go, as for your antivirus, just try downloading from the net using those torrent downloaders |
well said |
As we all know, windows vista is a lit bloated. ok let me be polite, its contains features that are really not useful. so the main issue is, how do we solve this palaver, well sure we can tweak the system. but what happens if yu were caught by a virus and u had to reformat. you will not only reformat, u will have to reapply those tweaks agin. this can be time wasting, trust me. so here is me, providing info on how to create your own vista DVD without all those trial software but vista bloat. Using the free software vLite,www.vlite.com you can create a completely custom, bootable Windows Vista install DVD. Remove the parts of Vista you don’t want/use, change some of the default settings, include Service Packs and Windows Updates, and more. Keep reading for complete step-by-step instructions on using vLite. There are a few things I should mention about vLite before you get too far into this guide. First, creating a custom Vista DVD can sometimes cause Windows Update not to function perfectly. For example, if you had installed a custom version of Vista created with vLite prior to the release of Vista Service Pack 1, you would not be able to install SP1 (without creating a new Vista DVD that included SP1, and re-install the entire OS). This guide doesn’t show you how to include SP1 in your custom Vista, because the version i use for this experiment is windows vista sp1 oopsy sorry 1. install Vlite 2. run and accept the terms and agreement 3. If prompted to install some Dependencies, click the Install button (typically, you have to install one driver, WIM Filter) 4. after downloading and installing the WIM filter, relaunch Vlite . A window will pop up asking where your Windows Vista install disc is located. Select the DVD drive that has your copy of Vista in it. Now click the Browse button (ofcourse you must have sloted yur vista disc into the drive) 5.Click OK on the Copy Files window, and then navigate to the folder you want to save your Windows Vista files in. It’s a good idea to create a new folder to save the files in - I opted for C:\Vista Backup\ 6. Click OK when you’ve selected the folder. 7. Now vLite will copy your Vista disc to your hard drive. This can take some time (took me 10minutes) 8. Once vLite has copied all the files to your hard drive, it will analyze them to determine the copy of Vista that you’re running. The info will be displayed right below the Status section of vLite. When you’re ready, click Next. 9. Now you have to decide what exactly you want to change/add to Vista. You might as well select all of the possibilities - you don’t actually have to make changes in each section. You’ll probably want to leave Enable before apply unchecked. 10. The Compatibility window will appear. Select each of the features you want to keep in your custom Vista install disc. If you hover your mouse over each select, you’ll see (at the bottom) what will be affected by not including a particular feature. Unless you really know what you’re doing, you’ll probably want to make sure everything is checked. 11. On the Applications tab you can select the applications you expect to use in vista 12. In the Components section you can place check marks in the boxes next to the components you do not want included on your Vista install disc. After you’ve reviewed all of the components - and there are a lot of them - click Next to continue. 13. In the Tweaks section you can enable, disable or leave as default some of the Vista settings. In the Security section of the Tweaks, you can disable AutoPlay (yay!) or change things like Hibernation, Power schemes etc 14. Select System from the Tweaks section, and review the changes you can make. One that I appreciated was to set the Control Panel to Classic View by default 15. If you’re absolutely sure you know what you’re doing, you can take a look at the Explorer section of the Tweaks, but I’d suggest leaving them alone. In the Internet Explorer section you can disable the IE Phishing Filter and/or the IE Phishing Verification Balloon Tips. 16. Once more, click Next. To enable Vista to install while being unattended, fill in all of the required fields. This allows for a fully automated installation - just put in the Vista installer DVD, click start, and you won’t need to interact with the installation at all. 17. Make sure to check the Regional tab if you’d like to specify a default Timezone, Keyboard layout, Time and currency format etc. Click Apply when you’re done. 18. Now you’ll be asked how you want to save the changes made to Vista. I’d suggest Rebuild one. Click OK. (much faster) 19. And now watch as vLite rebuilds your version of Vista 20. Once the process has completed, click Next. 21. From the Make bootable ISO for testing or burner screen, click Make ISO 22. And select a location to save your new Vista ISO 23. Once it’s done, click Exit. 24. Now burn your ISO to a DVD, and you’ll have your custom, bootable version of Vista ready to install on your PC, the next time the need arises have fun using yur slimed down vista, now check this is out. i aint gonna be held responsible for any destruction but will be happy to answer yur questions. |
@ samosward well, from their website, computer village (if yur in nigeria) or from torrent sites (if you have a seriously fast connection. this is because those games are like 2.something gigbyte minimum) @ iukpe hey matey, nice system you got there, yeah i agree with you, NFSMW is much better, plus with a sys like yurs, u could enable the car geometry. i play NFSMW on my ATI 4870X2 at 1920X1200 and trust me, its mind blowing. i seriously though that fifa09 would be the shit, but i am so disapointed. the players faces looks so washed offf arghhhh |
@ texazzpete in theory, it is possible for a ps3 to be able to read those disc. the reason is when the blu-ray players (when they newly came out) had some limitations but such limitation were overcomed by merely updating the software note; the blu ray players have ethernet sockets. so yu can connect to the internet. likewise the ps3. so i believe sony is not that stupid. they knew that they would be creating such discs. all they need to do is to update the software on the other hand, they could be stupid, |
@ aragbaboy hard way you can use yur windows vista or xp cd to create a partition. just slot in the disk as if yu want to install the software, then yu will get to a place where its asks yu where u want to install, then u select a drive and then select entend drive. this involves some maths becos u have to calculate how much space yu require etc easy way get a software called nortion partiton magic. with this software, u can create a partition while running win xp or vista. just install the software and follow the instructions. personally speaking, i have never used partition magic before. i have only tried the first one but i suggest u try the second one first, let me knw how that goes, |
eh, my man, pls take a look at yur system specs 512mb ram, 60gig HDD, Intel pentium 4M, 2.00Ghz processor direct x 9 Nvidia Geforce4 440 go (vga driver) let me tell yu the first thing that caught my attention and made me say jesu christi, your graphics card is pooow (with all due respect) your graphics card doesnt support those games, like for real. and i am sorry to tell u also that yur graphics card is not direct x 9 compliant. trust me, i am a computer engineer so i know. its is direct x 8. you might have to buy a new computer ot play the earlier versions of those games |
hmmmm, funny i though that crysis and GTA have the best graphics, |
right here, play need for speed most wanted and fifa 09 |
FIFA 2009 (just got it recently) Crisis Need for speed most wanted Unreal Tournament 3 |
ok ok, chill out. there are two options for yu if u want to use office, hard way and easy way now, if u seriously what to use office 2000, then go ahead but u need to run it in compatibilty mode (easy way) just install the software and right click on yur word application, select properties and then select compatibily mode and the select windows xp hard way because of thread rules, i can't give the the details on hw to go about the office 2007 issue but i can tell u that its possible. let me give yu a hint, the only reason yur MS package will expire is because of yur internet connection, the software and system registry u need to change somethingin the system registry to trick the activation server that yu are registered. accessing registry is regedit. WINDOWS KEY + R send me an email if u need the full details ohhhh, u can download open office, its free, just google it |
According to microsoft, its states that the system requirements for Windows Vista are the Following: Home Basic Home Premium / Business / Ultimate 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor 512 MB of system memory 20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space Support for DirectX 9 graphics and 32 MB of graphics memory DVD-ROM drive Audio Output Internet access (fees may apply) Additional requirements Actual requirements and product functionality may vary based on your system configuration. Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor can help you determine which features and edition of Windows Vista will run on your computer. While all editions of Windows Vista can support multiple core CPUs, only Windows Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise can support dual processors. 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor 1 GB of system memory 40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space Support for DirectX 9 graphics with: WDDM Driver 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum) Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware 32 bits per pixel DVD-ROM drive Audio Output Internet access (fees may apply) Additional requirements Actual requirements and product functionality may vary based on your system configuration. Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor can help you determine which features and edition of Windows Vista will run on your computer. While all editions of Windows Vista can support multiple core CPUs, only Windows Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise can support dual processors. Home Premium / Ultimate TV tuner card required for TV functionality (compatible remote control optional). Home Premium / Business / Ultimate Windows Tablet and Touch Technology requires a Tablet PC or a touch screen. Ultimate Windows BitLocker Drive Encryption requires a USB Flash Drive and a system with a TPM 1.2 chip. Windows Vista minimum supported system requirements Home Basic / Home Premium / Business / Ultimate 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of system memory 20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space Support for Super VGA graphics CD-ROM drive Now hw does microsoft expect one to understand and even know specifically what hardware would be required to run vista well is something that is beyond me. for this reason, i have decided to give you guys the real specs to running vista smoothly. (ofcourse with some tweaking on the side which i would be discussing later when i have the time) Note: Recommendations are based on real life test that hve been conducted by me. also, since i find windows vista basic as useless, i will only be focusing on the Aero Included Versions 32bit and 64bit (AERO? the glassy interface) LAPTOP N DESKTOP (u wanna run vista business, premium and ultimate versions 32bit?) u must have the ffg Processor: any Intel or AMD Dual Core Processors clocked at 1.8 above will be fine (if u serious want to use single core, pls go for AMD Turion64 or a pentium 4. they both have to be clocked at at least 2.0ghz) Ram: 2GB is optima for 32bit and 4gb for 64bit (if ur using 64bit, get more, i have 8gb) Graphics card: the most important part, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee, dont buy any laptop that comes with an intel and Nvidia graphics card, they suck, trust me, if yur pressed for cash, go for ATI Radeon 1100,1150, 1200 graphics cards. otherwise, pls go for dedicated. once again avoid Nvida, they have a lot of driver issues. ATI is much more stable. you can go for ATI HD2600. its cheap HDD: vista uses 15gb alone, so pls look for something in the range of 250 to 500gb Drive: its has to be a DVD drive or if yu wanna go extreme, yu can upgrade to blu ray drive but then i think its really not popular in nigeria Quote me wrong Motherboard: Intel has the best motherboard out there Thank You Moonraker |
yes you can. just create a separate partion and install linux |
means wat its means. in simple english, artificial private network, its an environment created within your normal computer envioronment. a more private one i might add. think of it this way, normally, when you browse the web, u use programs like I.E7 or firefox or opera. these are commonly used browsers but what if you browse the web anoynimously without be traced or anything. this is the whole ideal. it is more secure with a lot of security features. can it be used with a gprs system?? technically Yes. this means that you will be connected to a server and yu can use yur gprs system to connect remotely to that server so that yu can browse yur files etc. free browsing?? nooooooooooooo. will have to have some contract with an ISP. oh least i forget, you can also configure VPN with your phone lines. i knw that linkserve provides such services, problem is i dont know how reliable they are. hope this answers your question. |
i was going through the apple website recently http://www.apple.com/iphone/countries/ and guess what? nigeria isnt in the plans of apple at all. instead, you have countries like mail and madagascar?? WTF am i missing something here. if i remember correctly, all the mobile phone operators have 3G up and running and even more. the iphone uses 3G+ (a special name is assigned to it, HSPA i think) what do you guys think?? what the hell is going on?? |
Typical Gaming System Core 2 Duo at least 2.0ghz (this is just base stuff. to play games like assasin creed, crysis, u need 2.8ghz dual core processor) Ram: 2 to 3gb Graphic Card: it definitely has to be dedicated. some one said and i quote (RAM or Memory: will determine how much graphics your notebook computer will be able to handle) to some extent, that is correct but if you have dedicated graphics memory ie memory belonging to the graphics card, then the system doesnt need to borrow from the main RAM. in this case you need nothing less than 512MB. hard disk: for a gamer, you need abt 250gb these are the most important stuff |
emirates airlines qatar airways these two airlines have good service from asia to nigeria. the rest are all overpriced son of a, |

cheap- amd expensive- intel personally, i prefer intel becos they are much much faster than AMD. problem is that intels line are not yet optimized for todays sofware |
its basically means what its means, as you may be aware, linux is divivded into several distributions fedora, ubutu, red hat enterprise etc. so i guess you will be though how to use the linux platform etc. as for security, its gets really tricky. this is becos there are many sides to it. the most popular would be IPV 6. its meant for the internet and was intergrated into vista recently. basically it, iguess, |
one more tweak here, graphic settings you could disable transparency or reduce the transparency effect but i recommend reducing transparency effect. you can do this by righting clicking properties select windows colors and apperance move the slider slightly to the right. trust me, u will notice some system responsiveness also, you can modify the pagefile. i only recommend this tweak for systems with at least 1gb the rule of pagefile is that you have to set it 1.5X of your system memory, pls do the math in my case, i have 2gb of ram. so i set my pagefile to 4096mb for initial and maximum and my system is very responsive note after doing that, you have to defrag yur system how do i do it, u ask?? right click on my computer select properties select advance system settings then performance settings then advanced then change pagefile tadaaaaaaaaa. need more tweaks?? let me know, |
use a program called nero recode. its part of a package called Nero. http://www.nero.com/ena/index.html as yu can see from the site, it is not free. but i think they hv a free trial system so u can use for 15 to 30days anyways, once you install, open nero recode, then select convert video to nero digital import yur video, select yur video format and bam, its starts encoding, this process is much faster, trust me if as a naija man, u want a free encoder, u can try itunes. its has the quicktime product inbuilt, so u can convert easily. the downside is that, its takes alot of time cheers |
