PHAYOL81: Not many offices but only two and those two have different terrains they work on for detailed and proper services, even though they get areas they must align and work together too. First one is LASURA. All LASURA does is to look into plannings of an already inhabited areas and draw blueprints on how best to implement infrastructural development into the system to improve the lifestyle and ecosystem of the area for optimal, quality and productive upgrades. Example is the urban renewal process ongoing at MAKOKO, YABA and BADAGRY. Another is the proposed plans for OTTO COMMUNITY, IKOSI-EJIRIN and IMOTA. Then, there is the ministry of physical planning and urban development; a team that has its commissioner and permanent secretary, both of whom were present at the event. The team specializes in setting plans/blueprint for developing areas with the aim of creating a smart city project. They themselves hints on infrastructural facilities that would hasten growth (both economically and physically) in the new ecosystem for improved lifestyle and development in the state in general. Example is the LEKKI FTZ, LAGOS FTZ, IBEJU-LEKKI development, ORANGE ISLAND, PERIWINKLE ISLAND, EKO ATLANTIC CITY etc. The other one stated is the aide; one who advises the governor/government on how to improve blueprints submitted by either/both above-mentioned offices. He deliberates with the governor on what to add/subtract and why. He also advises on how to procure right materials (finance, tools, products and labour) towards the actualization of the urban regeneration projects.
Of course, no LG/LCDA is untouched when it comes to the road project in the state as we speak. If they continue in this new pace SANWO OLU brings and they compliment that with quality deliveries, sooner than later, issues of bad roads in Lagos would be a thing of the past. About the mass transit, you're absolutely right. If they deliver on the blue and red rail lines by the last quarter of 2022 as promised and are able to secure people's confidence over the waterway transport system, Lagos state would quickly jump up the ratings as a model smart city in Africa. May God continue to bless Lagos state May God bless all South Western States of Nigeria in general May God bless all Yoruba land May God bless all Yoruba indigenes Thanks for that informative reply So in a nutshell, LASURA works on already existing towns and finds ways to modernize and improve them, while physical planning and urban development is concerned with new projects ? Sounds cool But those urban renewal projects at Makoko and yaba, badagry, what are they constructing ? Is it just roads ? Lastly the projects you mentioned : LEKKI FTZ, LAGOS FTZ, IBEJU-LEKKI development, ORANGE ISLAND, PERIWINKLE ISLAND, EKO ATLANTIC CITY etc. which you attributed to the ministry of physical planning and urban development, isn’t that an unfair attribution? I thought those projects were a result of the private sector alone ? Thanks for your explanation once again |

To many duplicates of functions:
General Manager, Lagos State Urban Renewal Authority ( LASURA)
-Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development
Special Adviser to the Governor on Urban Development
-Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development
Why do we have so many offices with thesame function ? |

wazobia68: Nigeria can only print Naira, we don't print dollars. So if the country is not earning enough foreign exchange through exports etc, we will have shortage of foreign exchange which will likely lead to devaluation. That is simple economics. The Nigerian economy is not diversified, we rely heavily on crude oil export for our dollar needs. So if there is disruption in crude sales/price, we have this problem. Now, Nigeria is not selling enough crude oil, due to OPEC restrictions as a result of covid 19 pandemic. Most countries are not operating fully so the demand for crude is reduced. Also India, I believe our biggest oil market have cut oil imports due to the ravaging effect of covid 19. In a nutshell, this is the major reason.
We have other factors like, fuel importation, low productivity, population growth, education etc Well explained, thanks |

plaindealer: Nigeria GDP $448 Billion.
Ghana GDP $66 Billion.
Ghana can not survive without Nigeria's industrial output and goods and services.
Demarketing Nigeria is ignorance, self-loathing, self-destructive, unpatriotic and gross inferiority complex.
Failed errands.
Most Nigerians do not feel a responsibility towards their nation and flag They are very unpatriotic we must spread the message of unity Thanks for the good vibes sir |

The general sentiment I sense from Nigerians is one of despondency and hopelessness
The country has its issues, and no one seems to have any hope for a better life in this country
And again, Nigerians hate their country
Ghanaians are proud
Kenyans same
You don’t see them dragging their country and countrymen publicly
I dream of the day Nigerians can be proud to be Nigerians
I believe the diversity of this country can be a strength, like the former USSR, so I don’t want a split
I still love Nigeria and Nigerians sha

Listen to native programs and you will see that no interwoven...ethnic identity is very much alive, if not, OBJ won't warn Buhari about Nigeria being so divided like they have ever seen before. So, that's it. If we divide across language lines you do realize there will be more than one country from Edo state alone ? Is this feasible to you ? |
Politics › Re: FFK Reacts As Oduduwa And IPOB Members Protest by Moorish: 12:40am On Oct 03, 2020 |
Seunpaul01: Exactly, Yoruban.
You have a point. Restructuring!
The bias judgement and partiality from the upper level of government ll still be an issue. Fight on who ll rule the nation ll still continue where one n tribe ll still feel marginalised. The north ll still remain less educated and continue to engage in atrocities that would undermine the nation. Restructuring may not resolve the already bastardise image of Nigeria.
Many disadvantages that I can't think of right now.
Disintegration and going separate may be a long call and seems difficult to achieve BUT if restructuring can solve the problems I mentioned above, then Nigerians agitators should settle for it. I just feel the nation is too interwoven to dissolve at this point We are already Nigerians man The number of people living in other regions is too high Restructuring might even be hard if it demands people from other regions abide by some local obligations for example language |

Seunpaul01: See as Igbo flags dey contradict each other. Country never starts they don dey disagree with flag colours.
I support Yoruba but not the name they want to call their nation. It is uncivilized to use a name base on tale of ancestors to name a country, Yoruba nation would have sound well - The Republic of Yoruba, United States of Yorubas.
Just like there is Korea for Koreans, China for Chinese, Portugal for Portuguese, France for French, Russia for Russian etc... We should also have Yoruba for Yorubas..or Yorubarian I think the latter go well. Your post makes sense. I am a Yoruban from the country of Yoruba But on a serious note, restructuring is what we need.. Nigeria is a Giant Don’t tame the beast by dissolving But government can harness our diversity by restructuring |

Mizwisdom: This life is a mystery. I can picture the mother trying to keep the boy away from his father as a kid, a man who did not contribute anything to his welfare. She was the one with him through childhood sicknesses, she did the hard work but now that he's all grown, the young man rebels and decides to search for his dad against her wish The dad will surely reap where he did not sow, he'll turn the guy to a bank where he can withdraw money at will. After a few years the young man will learn the true nature of his father but he won't still severe the relationship. His father will use him until his last breath meanwhile the mum will gradually soften her stance (wetin she go do before?) It always ends this way and the cycle continues. The father did sow the seed, actually. |

KenOne: Ike Ekweremadu has just indicted himself and PDP by accepting that PDP did not give the South-East infrastructure for 16years.
PDP gave us senate and deputy president, CBN governor, finance minister, chief of army staff, PDP chairman, PDP secretary, inspector general of police.
So the only infrastructure to South-East by PDP according to Ekweremadu is just starting the 2nd Niger bridge and gateway to international community.
If you get all these appointment under PDP without infrastructure wetin you gain, my brothers wetin una gain ooo. Exactly Why must my tribesmen occupy the top positions? Does it provide food, power and shelter for the common man? |
