Politics / Re: Power Supply Fails To Improve 10 Years After Privatization by Moorish: 10:58am On Jan 02
nairalanda1:
The answer is simple.

When privatization happened, government , to cut a long tale short, kept control of prices through NERC. To the point that the sector could not make enough profit to fix things. This is something that discos and gencos have been screaming about.

Buhari even went as far as ordering NERC to freeze prices for two years...whilst other costs increased. That was a wonderful decision.

Throw in the fact that power stealing is still a big problem....and the result is a sector running at zero profit and having to be saved by subsides on power.

This paper from 2019 gives one a good summary of the problem. And today, the subsidy continues.

But when you tell people on this site, they scream, cry and lose their mojo over the simple fact that capitalism means working systems, while socialisim means destruction.

Things, as has been said in many ways, cost money. Kudi. Gold. Calling me a government supporter does not change that fact. Nor does it change the fact that free electricity does not exist (unless someone at CERN invents nuclear fusion at a grand scale).

I just logged in to say you are very intelligent

Abroad is a million times better than this zoo.

You get to pay for your services and get real-time value.

Not buying 1k data that can't even browse through the day. Or use 1k to call a number for 1hr.

Or pay for electricity and use it constantly while in Nigeria, you pay for electricity when you don't even use it.

The economy, standard of living and weather is all friendly compare to the one chance and rituals you face everyday in Nigeria.
I don’t think you can browse the internet throughout the day with $1 anywhere else in the world either

You are indeed a scholar, and let me thank you very much for fitting this piece into my puzzle. Indeed, the Moors were not a race, looking at it realistically, they were a brotherhood united by Islam, and most of them were black.

I do know that the original Jews of the Bible are black, so they were part of the Moors, the Moors were mostly black people united by Islam and Melanin, so they were a mix of Hamitic, Shemetic, and perhaps melanated Japhetic people. Circa 500AD to circa 1500AD the Moors ruled Europe and the world, the white people called this time period the ''Dark Ages'', and when they rose again from the bottomless pit in circa 1500AD they called this time period the ''Renaissance''.

During the ''Dark Ages'', the Black-melanated man was on top, he ruled the world via Islam as the vehicle of universal brotherhood; during this time the whiteman was down below, in hell, and for 1000years the world was at peace and prosperous.

The Blackman will arise from the ashes of the ''white ages''. The ''White age'' has ended, the Dark ad blessed age will come again, and this time, this kingdom will rule forever.
5 years on and still a powerful and stirring post

Jah bless

Throwback:
This is the equivalent of making a congratulatory call.

If you were in doubt, know now that Tinubu's portraits will adorn all offices allover Nigeria from May 29th 2023.

Even the DSS cell where Nnamdi Kanu is chained to the floor, would have Tinubu's official portrait staring down at him to remind him that Big Brother is watching.

I will not be polite and would speak my mind.

Shame to all Igbos who peddled the Yoruba Muslim vs Yoruba Christian divide.

Me being a Catholic saw through your charade.

Shame on the sleeping Yorubas whose destiny my type defend here daily from the onslaught of those who hate you and what you have.

Shame on those in the Presidency who tried to scuttle the primary and electoral victory of their own party candidate.

A big round of applause for the Northern block that remained steadfast and reciprocated the goodwill of Tinubu.

To all political prostitutes and desperate ticket hunters, learn a lesson from Tinubu's organic candidacy that showed patience, loyalty, and perseverance.

You cannot reap where you did not sow.

When you have worked, you have every right to scream towards the heavens for justice that,

EMILOKAN!

Finally, never succumb to pressure to settle for a weak partner.

Atiku and Peter Obi got nothing from their running mates.

Tinubu got a running mate that guaranteed victory and unflinching support from the critical voting blocks of the North.

He knew it, we knew it, so his enemies made a mockery of him over it in a bid to damp its effect. Even my fellow Catholic Peter Obi and a Knight of St Gregory the Great, turned himself to a whimsical pentecostal that was looking for signs and wonders all over the Churches in Nigeria.

Confidence and Strategy drove 16years of planning by Tinubu, now the rain will fall on him to bless his consistency and hardwork.

Naija is now Lagos.

The City Boy heads to the Villa with his master plan close to his chest.

Lagos has come.
My first time logging in, in close to a year.

Had to come here to say what a piece you wrote up there

Can't put it better..
As far as I'm concerned, the main goal of the average Tinupoo branch of South West politicians is to undo the Igbo. I don't think they're in it anymore because of what they aspire to get nationally. They're more interested in what they deprive the igbos from getting. There's this palpable desperation to contain the South East and they will go with anybody who promises to help them do so..

Again, no amount of injustice metted out to the igbos will injure the conscience of the average Tinupoo urchin. If the fulani herdsmen kill off all pregnant women in Imo State this night, these Tinubu hoodlums will be here first thing tomorrow morning to blame Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and ESN! They are that ruthlessly shameless.. How many people were killed at Ondo today? Remind them that the Army killed more than this in a single day in Anambra at the early stages of IPOB and they'll tell you to go deal with it..

I personally think that most of the rants against IPOB and all the evil they wish on them are just convinient smokescreens to hide the real target of their venom and frustrations; the Igbo man. When you hear them yell "kill every ipob or ESN or Kanu, what they're actually struggling with, is their primitive disgust of the Igbo mans guts and their Evil wish that he simply disappears from the surface of the earth.. Simple.
Yes bro but don’t forget the hate also coming from your people towards us in the west

We, the actual humans with feelings from both east and west, have to meet somewhere down the middle and start forming alliances

I am married to an IMOLite. And I thank my God everyday that I chose to marry her and only her. Her family are the most honorable and extremely decent people

What state are you from? I’ve found that IMO indigenes are the most kindest igbos I’ve met

It's a pity, how they think, the one that hurt me so much was how they think Nnamdi Kanu was overdoing things in 2016 and 2017, but Nnamdi Kanu has seen all these things that are happening now. Yorubas were only interested in plying politics in the national level to exclude Igbos, even in the face of the south being wiped out by the same fulanis. This is heartbreaking, attack to a southerner is an attack on all southerners, I wish the yorubas will realise this obvious fact.
I am a yoruba that has longed for southern unity for a very long time. But there is so much hate from previous and even the current generation

But I believe the south have common values enough to unite and fight these evil and heartless people up north

Weeping is a sign of weakness! Fulani NEVER shows mercy to those who weep! The roundabout at Enugu was weeping too and the killers only increased the tempo! They only ran away when IPOB opened a new page for them..You don't weep with the fulani, you don't beg them too! You don't try to preach to their conscience, they have none! What you do to the fulanis is to meet them with bigger Evil. They only run back when they see that you cut off hands and heads the same way they do. Very simple! You see how they run from ESN these days?

They are used to killing without reply and they are now running amok! This attack in Ondo State was carefully planned because of this governor! He championed Amotekun and he headed the Southern governors call for power shift! The Fulani whose grandfathers arrived here killing at will, are always of the opinion that killing is the best way to live. They're proud of their violent pedigree. They just wanted to shake the governor with some violence. The fulani will NEVER stop until we stop them! You can only stop the fulani by being tough and ruthless with them not by crying.
Southern unity bro

I wish the southern Nigerian youths can lay down their swords and unite

Yorubas try so hard not to blame Fulani.

The slavery is factory fitted.

Can you remember when Fulani slaughter Yorubas in Ibadan. Tinubu said it's not Fulani. Infact he said where are the cows.

Infact, its Amotekun that did it as Yoruba propaganda media machine will say all killings in the east is by IPOB

The problem is that quite a number of yorubas (Muslims) idolize the Fulani/Hausa and see them as kith and kin. They want association with Fulani because of their Islamic affiliation and Fulani being closer to the Arabic heritage

What we yoruba need is a return to our original culture

A division of this country won’t be bad after all

What you must understand is that Yoruba don’t have any friends in Nigeria.

I don’t even think the Igbo like us much either

Tinubu chose to align with the north (wrong choice) because of political advantage

I don’t know if there is any other solution to Nigerians’ collective misery except moving to a developed country

Many thanks for this post, 1000 likes. As a forensic expert, you are trained to recognise the unique tactics and methodology used by different terrorist organisations in the world. I can confidently state that this attack was carried out by IPOB/UGM. It is easy to decode by trained eyes - the crime scene would provide all the evidence needed to link the attack to IPOB. History always repeats itself, the civil war started under similar circumstances
I’m not too confident it is IPOB. Could be Fulani. Not sure IPOB will attack us so that we lose politically. IPOB have no cares for Nigeria or it’s politics. I think Fulani is more plausible

Regardless, all we know is that this was a direct attack on the yoruba people.

Don't lose a good woman because she does not have yansh. When she gives birth, her yansh will increase. A woman that gives you peace of mind is priority. A woman that you can leave the house for and have rest of mind that all is well. A woman who loves you ,who is kind and accepts you and your family for who you. A respectful and generous woman. A generous woman will always want to contribute her earnings for the mutual good of two of you. If she is naturally good looking, that is a pass mark. You can teach her how to dress sexy for you when she is indoor with you. When you have the resources ,encourage her to make long hairs . That makes most females sexy.

No woman is perfect. Most men who settled down always have one thing that they wish their wives also have but they chose her because she has 70% of what they desire.

Wow, great insights !

I doubt you have been following the constitution review by the National Assembly that is now before the state Assemblies.

A Bill for an Act to Alter the Provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 to allow States Generate, Transmit and Distribute Electricity in Area covered by the National Grid; and for Related Matters.
Yes - 90
No – 0
Abstain – 0
Total: 90

The Bill is Passed!

Is now left for the state house of assemblies to pass the bill.

I think they all have till June or so.

The States will be able to Generate, Transmit and Distribute Electricity. For now, only the FG can do such a thing till the bill is worked on by the states.
This is very informative thanks

On Tuesday, FGN Power Company, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) set up for the Nigerian-Siemens power deal said electricity equipment like transformers and mobile power substations are expected to arrive in Nigeria in September.

The delay in executing the partnership, which was attributed to Covid-19, has contributed to the deterioration of Nigeria’s poor electricity supply.

But the Managing Director, FGN Power, Kenny Anuwe, said on Tuesday in Abuja, while speaking on the project, that by the time the power equipment are installed, there would be major improvement in the supply of electricity in the country.
