Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United lost their third game in a row as they fell 1-3 to Watford at Vicarage Road. Etienne Capuoe rifled home from close range to put the Hornets a goal up after the ball was stolen from Anthony Martial from the left back position.

Teenage sensation Marcus Rashford was at the right place at the right time following a neat one-two with Zlatan Ibrahimovic putting United back into the game in the 62nd minute. Odion Ighalo failed to score into an empty net from 18 yards earlier in the half after the Red Devils failed to clear their lines properly as the ball went agonizingly wide.

Watford were not done yet as Roberto Pereyra found Colombian international Juan Zuniga in the box who beautifully curled in a shot with his right boot as United trailed by 2-1.

It was one Nigerian for another as Isaac Success came in for Ighalo who had quite a decent match as Watford were run away winners of the encounter. Success brilliant pacy run from the left caused all sort of problems for United’s defence as the youngster had a one-two with Zuniga and was given a penalty in injury time. Troy Denney sealed the deal with a penalty and gave Watford their first victory over the Red Devils in thirty years making it the Premier League story of the weekend.

Mourinho’s men slipped further down to sixth position as Watford climbed to eight on the table after a slow start of their campaign this season. With this result, it is the first time since 2002 since Mourinho lost three matches in a row and United will square up against Leicester City at Old Trafford next week.

What does this mean for Jose Mourinho?? And what does it mean for Manchester United. We all know that Jose cannot take defeat. He doesn't just know how to handle defeats and he is easily irritated by it. I sincerely hope he can handle it well this time. Else, Man United will be looking for another manager in no distant time.

Owner Of Eko Hotels & Suites In Lagos, Nigerian-Lebanese Businessman Gilbert Chagoury Sues FBI, US Government Over Visa Ban A popular businessman who owns Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island Lagos Nigeria has sued the US government for violations of Privacy Act.

Gilbert Chagoury who was born in Nigeria and has dual citizenship was barred from entering the United States and his visa request denied over an alleged link with Hezbollah. Mr Chagoury, a big donor to the Clinton Foundation who has a mansion in Beverly Hills California was denied visa to the US because he gave financial support to Michael Aoun, a popular Lebanese Politician accused of funding Hezbollah.

The Lebanese-Nigerian hotelier through his lawyers filed a lawsuit against the US on Friday. In the filing before the court in the District of Columbia, Chagoury contends that the information is wrong and that he was injured by the US agencies which leaked it to the media.

I stumbled upon this information on a court ruling regarding infringement of copyright and i was somewhat surprised and wonder if other world will ever follow suite. What does this mean to other educational institutes? Does it mean they can start making money off the original writers of these wonderful books? This is really a step to legalizing copyright infringements. Who knows plagiarism may follow suite.

According to Times of India News, Observing that "copyright is not a divine right", the Delhi high court on Friday allowed Delhi University to issue photocopies of major textbooks published by leading publishers. The Justice held that the act of students getting books copied from DU's library or its authorised photocopy shop enjoys protection under Section 52 of the Copyright Act, which exempts education from copyright infringement.

In a 94-page order, the court essentially concluded that if DU can photocopy content within its library to impart education to students, then similar protection is enjoyed by the contractor, Rameshwari Photocopy Service. The modest shop in North Campus was thrust at the heart of the case by international publishers who sued it for copyright infringement in 2012, resulting in Friday's landmark verdict on intellectual property rights.

"Copyright, specially in literary works, is thus not an inevitable, divine, or natural right that confers on authors the absolute ownership of their creations. It is designed rather to stimulate activity and progress in the arts for the intellectual enrichment of the public," the Justice observed.

A group of publishers, including Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press and Taylor & Francis, had objected in their suit to the photocopy shop selling course packs, that is, compilations of photocopied portions of different books prescribed by DU as suggested reading in its syllabus.

The High Court held that when texts are used by DU for imparting education and not commercial sale, it can't infringe on copyright of the publishers. The Justice recalled his own experience and noted, "In the times when I was studying law, the facility available of photocopying was limited, time consuming and costly. The students then used to take turns to sit in the library and copy by hand pages after pages of chapters in the books suggested for reading and subsequently either make carbon copies thereof or having the same photocopied."

The court further noted that DU's action may be guided by the limited numbers of each book available in its library, the limited number of days of the academic session, the large number of students requiring the said book, and the fear of the costly books being damaged on being subjected to repeated photocopying. Therefore, it could not be dubbed a copyright violation. The court pointed out that if the facility of photocopying wasn't available, students "instead of sitting in the comforts of their respective homes...would be spending long hours in the library and making notes thereof".

Responding to the verdict, the publishers in a joint statement said, "It is unfortunate that the court's decision today could undermine the availability of original content for the benefit of students and teachers."

UEFA has postponed the Champions League match between English club Manchester City and German counterpart Borussia Monchengladbach. Heavy rain, thunder and lighting hit Manchester on Tuesday evening and 15 minutes before kick-off it was announced that the match was abandoned.

The game originally scheduled for 7:45pm Nigerian Time today being September 2016 was meant to be Pep Guardiola‘s first match with City in the group stage of the competition was postponed due to bad weather conditions.

Both teams had already released their line ups before the postponement.

According to a report on Punch News papers, one Mr. Robinson Otuke, has been killed by the husband of the woman he was allegedly having an affair with on Emebiren Street, in the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State. The suspected killer, Ochuko, an electrician, challenged Otuke, who lived a stone’s throw away from his (Ochuko) residence, which led to an exchange of words between them.

In the ensuing fracas, Ochuko brought out a knife and stabbed Otuke in the neck. The incident took place last Saturday at the residence of the alleged lover. According to residents, the electrician’s wife, Rose, had been having an affair with the deceased for a long time. Rose reportedly moved into Otuke’s house after she and Ochuko had a disagreement.

A slightly different account by another resident had it that though Ochuko sent his wife away from their home following reports of her sexual escapades with men in the area, he later called her back.

“When Rose returned, her husband asked her to take him to the home of her lover where serious fracas ensued, which led to the stabbing of Otuke. Ochuko immediately took to his heels and fled to an unknown destination,” the resident said.

The deceased’s relatives reportedly burnt down the suspect’s property following the incident. It was gathered that the deceased’s relatives mobilised to the suspect’s house and burnt all his property. Police officers from Ogborikoko Police Station in the Uvwie council area, arrested Rose, as confirmed by the State Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Celestina Kalu.

She said that “the suspect’s wife is in police custody and investigation is ongoing.”

It is a dawn of mayhem today in Zambia as police in Lusaka arrested a sergeant for allegedly shooting his wife following a heated quarrel which arose after he accused her of sleeping with a senior Zambia Army Commander.

The sergeant, identified as Justine Nkole, 41yrs of house number LCA132S Army Applo camp in Lusaka west shot his wife Lines Tembo,39, in the chest and on the left lower ribs on Thursday, September 8th. According to Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, the murder case was reported at Bob Brooms police post by Sergeant Justine Nkole of house N0. LCA 132S Army Apollo camp in Lusaka West today around 10:50hrs.

It was reported that Sergeant Patrick Chewe aged 41 years shot his wife Lines Tembo aged 39 years in the chest and on the left lower ribs using an AK 47 rifle and two rounds were fired,'' Hamoonga disclosed. The accused has been arrested and a fire arm was recovered whilst the body of the deceased has been taken to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary," says Hamoonga.

This is indeed a call for concern. The minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has warned that Nigeria must start producing rice by December 2016 or risk having the produce hit N40,000 per bag. Lokpobiri said this at the weekend during a town hall meeting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

He said, “For your information, we spend about $22bn a year importing food into Nigeria. We know how many more dollars they bought and that is why you see the price of rice going up “Price of rice was N12,000 some months ago, but it is now about N26,000 and if we don’t start producing, by December it could be N40,000.

“Rice matures in three months. So, this is a wake up call for Bayelsa people to take the four farms we have seriously. The federal government has four farms in the state in our records. “The average land you see in Bayelsa can grow rice, so the colonial masters were not wrong in their assessment when they said Niger Delta could feed not only Nigerian but also the entire West Africa sub-region.

“Unfortunately, agriculture till today, is not a priority of the Niger Delta as far as the state governments are concerned because of oil.” He lamented that states in the Niger Delta had yet to give priority to agriculture the way the North-West states such as Kebbi, Jigawa, Kano as well as other states like Lagos, Ebonyi, Anambra had done.

This is unusaul and i can't believe this. A 300 level sociology student of the University of Ilorin UNILORIN, Abolarin Akin Jephtaph, has written to his school management asking for his withdrawal. She cited in the letter that she came into the school with WAEC papers he got through examination malpractice and as a new born again christian, he cannot build his career on a faulty foundation.

This is rather an insame decision someone may say but is it really the way to go about "born again" things? Or is this really that #ChangeBeginsWithMe ia taking effect?? Most people who commented on this rather radical behavious saw it as a witchhunt or spiritual problems or like they say "them dey pursue her from the village".

I think is an insane decision that she will live to regret. The bible says once you are born again, old things have passed away and all thing have become new. Didn't she read that part of the bible?? Or is that part talking about a different thing all together??

Today, Sunday September 11, 2016 marks the fifteen years remembrance of the worst terror attack in the United states of America history. In the early hours of Tuesday September 11, 2001, terrorists inspired by the Osama bin Laden led Al Qaeda flew two passenger jets into the twin towers of the World Trade center in New York.

Two other jets also crashed into the Pentagon and courageous passengers downed one plane in Pennsylvania. The attacks on US soil reverberated around the world and led two a decade terror war fought in terror frontiers in Afghanistan and Iraq leading to the killing of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the attack. As The world remembers, we bring you nine facts about the worst day in American history.

1. Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda

Lets assume you were not born before the 9/11 incident, but chances are that you have heard the dreaded name "Osama Bin Laden". The terror attack was carried out by Osama Bin Laden and his Al Queda terror organisation. The Saudi born Bin Laden was a US trained engineer who had vowed to attack America. The 9/11 attacks was planned and executed by terrorists who were trained in various cells in Europe.

Usama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden was the founder of al-Qaeda, the organization that claimed responsibility for the September 11 attacks on the United States, along with numerous other mass-casualty attacks worldwide.

2. The Attack

Nineteen men hijacked four fuel-loaded US commercial airplanes bound for west coast destinations. A total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, DC and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania. On September 11, 2001, 2,996 people were killed in the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center in NYC, the Pentagon building in Virginia, and in a plane crash in Pennsylvaninia.

It is no news that Nigerians are known to give credence to certificate and don't give a damn on skills. Before a private organization can employ you this days, you most have certificate upon certificate.

Surprisingly, we cannot say the same to our government. I mean our dear president haven't provided his certificate till now. Imagine our sports minister and ICT minister just to mention but few has no business being in the position they are cuz they know nothing about the office.

How can we grow in this penury? When a friend posted this, I had to confirm it and I was alarmed and even ashamed. Lets not even talk about age or appearance of the Nigeria ICT Minister and the Kenya counterpart, and am quite sure this Nigeria ICT minister will find it difficult to operate a PC. Ex BBA star and TV gal, Vimbai, lost her elder sister Belinda Mutinhiri (pictured left), yesterday September 3rd. Belinda died in a car crash along the Borrowdale Road in Harare, the Zimbabwean capital after drinking cocktails at News Cafe Fife Ave.

Confirming her death, Vimbai shared a family picture with Belinda in it and wrote: “The 3 Musketeers. God knows best. The darkest day of my life. I don’t know if I can ever accept.”

Popular comedienne, Helen Paul, has urged Nigerians to be calm and patient with the current state of the nation’s electricity, noting that it was necessary to commend the government for its efforts and find a better way out of any situation instead of complaining.

In a chat with the Punch, the popular rib cracker said, “I think the government is doing enough to make electricity stable in the country. Of course, they have been trying their best since 1960. We need to commend their efforts towards ensuring stable power supply in our homes. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.”

She suggested an alternative power supply for Nigerians to use in their homes, saying, “Everyone should buy generator. This is the most reliable alternative source of electricity that I know for now. Once you have fuel in it and you can maintain it, you are good to go.

“The solar panel system I have is not really effective for now. For example, the one I use in my home, once dust gathers on the panel outside, it stops working. Also, if it rains, it won’t work. Talking about the inverter, it has to be charged with electricity before it can store some energy.

“Considering all these problems, generator is still the best alternative source of power. Whether there is sun or rain or dust, generator will keep on working, she added, listing her alternative sources of electricity used in her home as generator, solar panel and inverter.

“If all these stop working, I don’t know what I’m going to do,” she added.

This is not coming in as a surprise i must say and i am surprised though for how long it took United States to speak up since they consider us the Nigerians as their ally and they proud themselves as the savior of the world. Apparently, a member of the United States, U.S, Congress, Mr. Tom Marino, has asked the US government to withhold security assistance to Nigeria until President Muhammadu Buhari demonstrates a “commitment to inclusive government and the most basic tenets of democracy: freedom to assemble and freedom of speech”.

The Congressman made this request in a letter he wrote to his country’s Secretary of State, John Kerry, which also asked the State Department to refrain from selling warplanes and other military equipment to Nigeria until Buhari establishes a track record of working towards inclusion. The Republican from Pennsylvania assumed office as Congressman on January 3, 2011 and is a member of the Committees on the Judiciary, Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs, and the Chairman, Sub-committee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law.

According to ThisDay, Marino, in a two-page letter dated September 1, 2016 and addressed to Kerry, said there were a number of warning signs emerging in the Buhari administration that signal “the man who once led Nigeria as a military dictator might be sliding towards former autocratic tendencies”. He averted that the Nigerian government must “hold accountable those members of the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Military complicit in extra-judicial killings and war crimes”.

In the six-paragraph letter to Kerry, Marino also expressed concern over Nigeria’s anti-corruption war, saying “of additional concern is President Buhari’s selective anti-corruption drive, which has focused almost exclusively on members of the opposition party, over-looking corruption amongst some of Buhari’s closest advisors. Politicizing his anti-corruption efforts has only reinforced hostility among southerners”.

The letter to Kerry reads: “Dear Secretary Kerry, I am encouraged by the personal interest you have taken in aiding Nigeria and its administration as it takes on endemic corruption, multiple insurgent movements, and a faltering economy. However, I believe there are a number of warning signs emerging in the Buhari administration that signal “the man who once led Nigeria as a military dictator might be sliding towards former autocratic tendencies.

“I would urge the U.S. to withhold its security assistance to the nation until President Buhari demonstrates a commitment to inclusive government and the most basic tenets of democracy: freedom to assemble and freedom of speech. A logical start towards this commitment is for the Nigerian government to hold accountable those members of the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Military complicit in extra-judicial killings and war crimes.

“Human rights groups like Amnesty International have widely documented torture, inhumane treatment, and extra-judicial killings of defenseless Nigerians since President Buhari took office.” Quoting Amnesty International Report, Marino wrote, “in the last six months, Nigeria’s military has unlawfully killed at least 350 people and allowed more than 168 people, including babies and children, to die in military detention.”

He further wrote: “The Secretary to the Government of Kaduna State even admitted to burying 347 of those killed in a mass grave. And while President Buhari promised swift condemnation, his words rang empty. Instead of swift reforms, Buhari chose to reinstate Major General Ahmadu Mohammed, who Amnesty International revealed was in charge of the Nigerian military unit that executed more than 640 unarmed, former detainees.

“Also, in separate incidents concerning the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Nigerian Army has killed at least 36 – the real number is likely higher – people since December 2015 in an attempt to silence opposition and quell attempts by the group to gather publicly.”

Describing Buhari as a former military dictator whose reign (as military head of state) was cut short by a coup, he stated that the President has continually shunned inclusivity in favour of surrounding himself with advisors and ministers from the north of the country and the region he considers home.

“Of President Buhari’s 122 appointees, 77 are from the north and control many of the key ministries and positions of power. Distrust is already high in Nigeria and favouring Northerners for key appointments has only antagonized the issue. These appointments are also primarily Muslim in the north and Christian in the south, adding a religious aspect to long-held regional biases.

“Of additional concern is President Buhari’s selective anti-corruption drive, which has focused almost exclusively on members of the opposition party, over-looking corruption amongst some of Buhari’s closest advisors. Politicizing his anti-corruption efforts has only reinforced hostility among southerners,” he claimed in the letter. He said the Obama administration in the United States would advance the course of justice by urging the Buhari administration in Nigeria to act decisively to hold accountable members of the police and military.

“This is a logical first step in making a demonstrable, sustained commitment to inclusive democracy, with distributed power in Nigeria. Until President Buhari establishes a track record of working towards inclusion, we ask the State Department to refrain from selling warplanes and other military equipment to the country.

“The State Department should urge President Buhari to form a government that represents the diversity of its citizens and allows dissenting voices to be heard. Democracy can thrive only if people are free to assemble, to express their beliefs, and voice their concerns,” the Congressman wrote.

Why are Africans daft to the point that they are always fighting for nothing. The other time Nigerians were fighting and coursing @CNN for not including "Nigeria" as the first place Mark visited on the Headline instead they said he visited Sub-Sahara Africa. Is it worth fighting about? I don't know.
