The Nigerian government has said it is ready to negotiate with Boko Haram terrorists on the release of over 200 abducted school girls. A tweet by Femi Adesina, special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, said discussions with some leaders of the terrorist group is ongoing. He however noted that the Nigerian government is yet to ascertain the genuity of the terrorists’ leaders it is having the discussions with. “PMB: We are talking with Boko Haram over Chibok girls. But we need to ensure they are genuine leaders, then we negotiate,” Adesina tweeted. Adesina said this was made known by the president in Paris. The president is currently on an official visit to France to discuss security, investment among many others. 276 female students of Government Secondary School Chibok, Borno State were abducted from the hostels by members of Boko Haram terrorists. While 57 of the girls managed to escape from their abductors, 219 others are still held captive by the group since April 14, 2014 they were all abducted. Previous efforts by the past government administration, led by Goodluck Jonathan to negotiate with the group failed leaving hopes dashed on the rescue of the girls. There has also been controversies over negotiating with the group to secure the release of the girls. Also, Adesina said the president said if Nigeria must make progress, corruption must be stooped. “PMB in Paris: Corruption is an enemy that must be stopped, if we are to make progress. There are land-mines ahead, but we remain unwavering,” he said. Meanwhile, Buhari has urged investors in the European country not to miss the huge opportunities in Nigeria. The president who was speaking at a meeting of investors at the Nigerian-France presidential business forum, told his audience that there was more to Nigeria than just oil exploration. Fielding questions from reporters about his recent visit to the Presidential villa, Olusegun Obasanjo said he went to give President Buhari the report of his Guinea trip. Speaking to Premium Times, he said “He appointed me as his envoy to Guinea Bissau, so I needed to see him to discuss the issue of Guinea Bissau and other national matters.” When asked about the perceived lopsided nature of the President’s appointments, Obasanjo said “I am reasonably satisfied with his performance so far, and I can’t see any reason that will make me raise any alarm at this time.” - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/fmr-president-obasanjo-says-he-is.html#sthash.dWw9LZJr.dpuf cc: lalasticlala

Well that's a typical thinking of naija dulard. Vise or rather vice spelling is an oversight, keep to the info and don't cruxify the messenger. Ah nigeria and tribalism |
How can he be close to Buhari while he is been ousted out? |
Cc lalasticlala let's see what people think about this thread |
Call it stupidity or whatever you wish to call it, but Nigerians are guilty of what can be termed 'cruxify me before your hear me out and then be remourseful after the deed has been done'. I don't know if it is because of his slow movement or because of his calm attitude or is it because of his clergy background, why have Prof. Osibanjo, the honourable Vice President of this great country have been seen as dejected and someone who is a mere commissioner as senate president Saraki put it? Most of the pictures that have found its way to social media and some other plat forms show how, should I say dejected again? Is it that he is not capable of breaking into the first team in the league he was bought to play? Or is it that the amount used in buying him to the club is too much and the player is not worth the amount? FYI: if you over-value a player, the expection will be too much that it would weigh the player out and thus incapable of meeting the demands. He is the vice president of this great nation and yet people look at him with a ball boy kind of eye. Why? I can't tell. Some go as far as publishing comic pictures about him like the one above and all that. I got to tell you, sometimes democracy sucks. He is the vise president and as such he doesn't have any power unless the one confered to him by the president. Maybe the reason for all this misunderstanding is the way Buhari threats him and all the APC saga and the fact that our presido is in fact the King Of The North. But something still stands out, he was used by the president to win the 2015 election just because of the fact that he is a respected man pastoring in one of the braches of RCCG. Senate president Saraki might not be entirely wrong for calling him a mere commissioner because commissioners are at the mercy of their bosses. Maybe or just maybe he was just used to win this election and not that he cannot play in the league. Afterall, he is a Prof. and Buhari can't even provide his WAEC cert. If you ask me, I will say he is a king in the league he is in. But power is in another's. Do you have any thought? Drop your opinions bellow.......... Guys please don't ever ask ladies these four things....................................... 1. You’ve added weight:aka you look fat. When a woman adds weight, she knows. And trust me, she is very conscious of it and wants to work out the flabby parts. But when as her lover you blurt it out to her then her level of insecurity is likely to rise plus she’d feel very hurt and even if she never mentions it, she’d not dress in front of you as much, neither would she want to have sex as much or eat as much with you. 2. Can’t we be a little like *insert name of other couple here*:whenever you feel the spark in your relationship is gone or that you want your relationship to borrow some qualities from other people, then carefully fix it. Or ask your woman “how about we do this or that?”.Do not compare or ask her to be like your friend/brother/whoever’s girlfriend/wife. She’s not them, she’d never be them. Likewise you’re not them you’d never be them.So be mature about things and handle things like an adult. 3. Asking for private time:you are allowed to have your own time as an individual in a relationship but be careful how you ask for this time. Most men just go ahead and say “I need some me time” and then wonder why the woman becomes very withdrawn and hurt. Usually when a woman hears that, she’s not sure what to do.She constantly thinks, if I do this now would he appreciate it or would he think its not necessary in this “me” time. Would asking him to the movies be a bad idea? Would goingto drop lunch for him at work be a bad idea? So many things go through her mind that make her unsure. So how about you tell her why you need this time and for how long you’d need it? 4. It was okay:no woman wants to hear this as a response to “how was the sex” she’d certainly feel hurt and won’t put her all into the next time. If there is a next time in a very long time. Talk about controversy in Nollywood and the name Chika Ike is likely to pop up! In this chat with Rita Okoye, the entrepreneur, actress and now movie producer opens up on her career, her reality TV show and why she has remained celibate for a while. Excerpts: What new projects are you working on? I’m working on my reality show, African Diva. There are 22 girls in a house all trying to outsmart one another to become the African Diva. The winner gets a cash price of N4million, a one year acting contract among other prizes. There are lots of reality shows in Nigeria, what makes yours a difference? I want to help girls that want to venture into entertainment and others that need money to start up a business. Hence I came up with this creative way of empowering girls. Although I have been thinking about this for five years, it’s been a tough journey but I’m happy we are done shooting our first edition. Chika Ike has remained ageless, what are your best kept beauty secrets? Honestly, let me thank my mother’s genes. People always say ‘I woke up like this flawless’ but it’s not always like that. I drink a lot of water, I exercise and I eat vegetables. Then I opt for fruits for vitamins and rest a lot. I take a lot of apples, berries and Mangoes. I’m not a fan of pineapples and water melons. You took a break from sex, is that part of the beauty routine too? No, not at all (laughter). Sex is not part of my beauty routine right now. I just want to focus on my movie, Nwa Teacher, and the reality show, African Diva. I’m very determined. If I make up my mind to do something I face it. I decided to be celibate for now and I’m enjoying it. How did your partner take the decision to be celibate? Well, he understands but I don’t really have a boyfriend or partner right now. Hope you won’t surprise us with your wedding invitation card soon? It could happen but I’m not really into any relationship right now. All my energy is channelled on my new projects. You’ve been scarce in Nollywood, are you tired of acting? You are very right about that. I’m still acting but very picky. I don’t just accept roles. At this point in my career, I don’t really need to be in all the movies but only the good ones. What are the challenges you face as a producer? As an actress you just come in, do your stuff and leave. But as a producer you make sure everything is fine. You have to think of the welfare of other actors on your set, the POP and lots more. It was very difficult but was worth it after all. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/nollywood-actress-chika-ike-says-lifes.html#sthash.APPgWIiH.dpuf cc: lalasticlala

President Muhammadu Buhari has warned the nation’s troops that if they are found guilty of human rights violation while carrying out their duties, they will be prosecuted. Buhari issued the warning today, September 12, in Kaduna while addressing troops and newly commissioned cadet at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). He reminded them that Nigeria’s law do not exempt personnel of the nation’s armed forces, while adding that his administration is fully committed to the rule of law. The president said: “I wish to remind you of the Federal Government’s commitment to overhaul the rules of engagement and improve operational and legal mechanisms so that disciplinary steps are taken against proven human rights violations by the armed forces. “We are committed to a thorough investigation of recent and any future occurrences of human rights violations by elements of our Armed Forces. “While I applaud the integrity and sterling record of the Armed Forces as an institution, this administration will insist on the rule of law, and deal with any proven cases of deviation from laws of armed conflict, including human rights abuses. “In operational conduct Nigerians expect our Armed Forces to keep law and order, and not to behave like bullies. “Let me reiterate this administration’s commitment to due process, merit and total observance of the rule of law as central pillars of a prosperous and democratic society. “Rule of law as an element of good governance applies to the Armed Forces as much as any institution in our country. It is therefore gratifying that all three Services have recently taken steps to emphasize strict adherence to rules in recruitment, promotions, procurement, project executions and civil-military relations,” the President said at the passing out of Officer Cadets of the NDA’s 62 Regular Course and Short Service Course 43. He further said Nigerians expects exemplary conduct and professionalism from officers and men of its armed forces at all times and in all situations. “The objectives of our fight against terrorism cannot be realized without a credible and effective military. You must avoid any behaviour that will tarnish your honour and dignity as commissioned officers. “Your commitment and loyalty to the Armed Forces and the nation must be total. I urge you to take your roles in the on-going process of rebuilding our Armed Forces very seriously,” President Buhari told the newly-commissioned officers. According to Premium Times, he assured them of provision of platforms and equipment they require to win the war against terrorism and meet their needs. Meanwhile, soldiers drawn from the 19th battalion of Nigerian Army, Koko, Delta state, were shocked to found firearms and ammunition in possession of a crippled man and a pregnant woman as they raided Yukugbene community in Warri local government in search of suspected pirates and kidnappers. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/human-rights-violation-buhari-set-to.html#sthash.SO6ryLwq.dpuf cc lalasticlala |
