You obviously don't know much about BEE besides the abbreviation. Do you think it's a government office that dishes out 'BEE' grants? You probably think that every successful black South African has received a hand out from the government. Even if that was the case it would be a good show of a government by the people for the people.

These are the BEE codes that South African and Multi-National companies must comply with in order to do business with the government:

- Code 100 – Ownership
- Code 200 – Management & Control
- Code 300 – Employment Equity
- Code 400 – Skills Development
- Code 500 – Preferential Procurement
- Code 600 – Enterprise Development
- Code 700 – Socioeconomic development

There's no business hand outs my friend. Hand outs are done by the Department of Social Development which gives monthly social grants to the poor which makes poor South Africans only theoretically poor.

Oh sorry maybe I should call them tenderpreneurs, make ya feel better.

I am kinda predicting a gradual shift from the ANC to the DA party for some of these "black up and coming middle class" elite being created as you have stated when the poor start attacking the very elite that is being created witin the ranks of the ANC and banging on the doors of the party these guys will have no choice than to shift to a party that might more protect their interests.

I don"t know whats your issues with the ANC are but I can advise you to read studies that were done regarding the growing numbers of black middle class.Majority of this people are not connected to the ANC elites they are hard working people,who are succeding beyond the challenges that they face from racist corporate world of South Africa.

With your type of thinking the conclusion is as follows: Black South Africans don't own or control the South African economy therefore they are not giants ALSO Nigerians don't own or control the Nigerian economy therefore they are not giants.

South Africa is the gate way into Africa for investors as it boasts a sound legal, financial and constitution. SA is not the Giant of Africa because in real terms it is a quasi- African state that consists of an european so called 1st world economy(87% control of resources and lang) with a 3rd world 13% control of resources and land built around it.

There is a gradual shift that is taking place where redistribution of wealth is trickly to the 45 million "black' ( and I use this term loosely to include natives, coloureds and indians). The majority of wealth is still controlled by the European 5% settler population of the country so in comparative terms to both population size and income redistribution unfortunately SA cannot be considered the GIANT OF AFRICA.

Sorry my SA brothers. This is the reason the term is seldom used in global context. It has been estimated that SA has maxed out its GDP potentials and Nigeria is set to grow exponentially if the right structures are put in place.

Even the guy who coied the BRIC term considers this to be the potential future.

Your above statistical analysis is incorrect and is based on a phenomena called stereotyping.

Ther are 150 millions nigerians on this planet.
Out of that number an estimated 10% or 15 million live outside of the country,
of that number another less than 1 million reside in South Africa

Of that number and to be generous, lets say 10% of that number( and thats an exaggeration) are criminals. that gives you < 100,000 unscrupulous people running around in a ina population size of 50 million people

I agree partially with what you have written only to go far as to say Asian philosophies bare similar resemblance to that of Africans in which the collectives and cultures focused internally on concepts of community, family,  honor,tradition and growth of the spiritual self.

These same cultures aggresively opposed the capitalist system by attempting to adopt opposing economic philosophies born out of their own cultures and ways of life. Despite their good intentions, these proposed systems created unimaginable evils  based on the concentrated effort of suppression and fierce resistance to anything or anyone that tried to incorporate or reconcile any principles of Capitalism.

The problem was the creation of this "boogeyman" theory which was to be programmed into the people, if the ultimate goal of proving that a system outside of CAPITALISM was feasible. In the end, these cultures have incorporated some form of this same system they previous were resistant to, salvaging what strengths and concepts within the system that worked for them and eliminating weaknesses.

A dynamic approach to solving problems, understanding that the solution lies beyond merely repeating what is wrong with the old system and fooling people into thinking SUGGESTIVE systems are actually fail proof. Africans are yet to get around but its only a matter of time.

Capitalism refers to the the factor of production(privately owned) that mobilizes all other factors of production with the intent of maximizing efficiency and output and as a reward, owning the perpetuity of profits that are derived from applying ingenuity or innovation that inevitably benefits a society at large.

The exchange for profits must operate in a market where one is WILLING to exchange the value created for something  that stores equivalent or greater VALUE  for his use at a later time as part of a maximize  of wants or needs. The market CANNOT be manipulated otherwise the system breaks down. The problem in contemporary terms becomes the strict definition of who an individual with these rights is and how corporate entities fit into this definition, when in reality their mere size consititute a growing threat to the idea of a "free market" because of the accumulating effect and control of huge amounts of unrestricted and mobile CAPITAL. Thus the ability to manipulate.

Capitalist principles of freedom  to control ones claim to resources  are born out 18th and 19th century philipsophies of egoism and individual anarchism. A residue effect of resentments born out of old european systems of monarchs, lords and the church laying claim to bounties, vast arrays of land and resources.  In this new system of thought, the individual is the key to societies success and is seen as the ultimate source of good. This old world system is attempting to recycle its fundamentals hidden within the confines of the new systems' definition of an "individual"

Expolitation is a part of the human experience ( even you can't deny that, unless you want to claim you haven't ever exploited a soul or situation in your entire life. I would be surpirsed) It is the compensation for the exploitation that evens out the distribution of power
