Well,

I am a South African in South Africa and yes, I did hear the rumours. Actually, it is not rumours no more, Some SOmalis' shops have been looted actually.

As a BLACK South African, I am VERY appalled and ashamed. It is even sad to learn that this was left for AFTER the world cup. So, they had to wait for the WHITE foreigners to come into the country for the four weeks and LEAVE THEN, they can attack the BLACk African foreigners. One can argue and say that they brought money into the country while illegal immigrants come in to 'steal' jobs, If ONLY they knew how FIFA will be making money out of all of us.

In a nutshell, We still have a LONG way to go, and we still dont know who our enemies are!! SAD!
It shows you what you guys think of people who share the same culture, biogeography and other affinities. Its only in South Africa out of all my travels have I ever heard a derogatory term used for Africans by Africans."makwerewere". you might as well call us the N word.

FamilyRe: Whats Ur Opinion On Adoption? by morpheus24: 5:56pm On Jul 16, 2010
Damysa:
@poster even though this question have been asked severally, I still want u to do a deep soul search for the Umpteenth  time why u wanna adopt and if u are ready to still love her/him unconditionally when your kids eventually starts coming in by God's grace.

Cos I watched a movie few days ago where couples adopted and later started maltreating the girl. they were very poor and later became so wealthy since the girl was adopted. it was so evident that they attributed thier success to the girl. Later the 'mother' wanted the same girl dead.

This is only a film but it happens in real life too. I was terrified when I watched it. Please be sure u are mentally, emotionally, physically etc ready for this adoption.
You watch too many nollywood movies haba

@ poster

You must consider the reasons you are willing to adopt before embarking down that road. Nigerian culture is very harsh and uneducated concerning this subject and deems a woman incomplete without a child and a child potentially dangerous to your family, so consider your family, friends and social circles bfore you decide.

As for me, regardless of if or when I have children I have considered it and will adopt a child in my life. there is no greater gift you can give an orphan or unwanted child, just the opportunity to grow up in stabel house hold had greatly evened this persons odds of success in life

Good luch

To all South Africans

You have done the continent proud. I never doubted the ability one bit and have always recognized the potential of the nation.

Good luck in all your future endeavours and do not turn the route of your fellow brothers and sisters in Africa. Continue to bask in positive enegry and scold those who are willing to bring negativity.

Foreign AffairsRe: What Do U Think About The Illuminati, Freemasonry E.t.c; Do They Even Exist? by morpheus24: 1:30pm On Jul 08, 2010
Horus:
Yes they exist. The Illuminati works for itself. It has no concern for any particular race, creed, movement, or nationality. It has Anglo-Saxons, Teutons, Slavs, Latins, Mongolians, Eskimos, Semites, etc. They hold the belief that it is up to man to solve his own crisis without the help of God. This appears to be the Republican party's point of view. There are nine masters called “The Round Table of the Nine.” The Illuminati may be in control here on Earth, but they are mere pawns in the game for the Luciferians. The Illuminati have nurtured a child, Satan's son, who was born on 6 June 1966 at the Dakota House on 72nd Street in New York to the Rothschild/Kennedy families. The Pope was present at the birth and performed satanic necromantic ceremonies. The child was raised by former U.S. president Richard Nixon and now lives in Belgium, where it is hooked up bodily to a computer called `The Beast 3M' or `3666.'"

Yeah my stay has been nice , Yeah the travel guides are scary they tell you you'll get robbed blah blah like you gonna get robbed from the airport. Beautiful country. Nigeria can't be like this in 100 years sad. I wish we waited long enough for eyinbos to develop our country well enough , can't believe i'm still in Africa; looks EU. Though i'm bored already I've seen lots of places in 14days so i reshedule my flight i'm leaving SA in 2days more can't spend a whole 30days here lol. plus its expensive to keep doing that wink

Anyone visit Pretoria? like Sunny Side where Yoruba is spoken like every corner? lol funny. ANd some part of Jburg I was is like Igbo township they even contesting for Igwe and stuff.
IF its your first time n SA you will be astonished as many people are coming into the country for the first time. SA is a first/thirdworld combined in one. Visiting is no problem. Some rich naija are even buying up property there so if you have money like anywhere else it is easier.
Foreign AffairsRe: R S A: Let's Talk About Zuma by morpheus24: 2:49pm On Jul 01, 2010
Beaf:
It is unavoidable that SA and Namibia will go the way of Zimbabwe, maybe with lessons learnt, it would be less stressful; but that is all we can hope for.
Land injustice is one of the reasons Mbeki was sent packing and Zuma brought in. It is only a matter of time.
The level of injustice in South Africa is grave.

Malema represents the unspoken.
@ beaf

I just came back from South Africa. My experience overall was positive of course the owing to the WC as a huge factor into the calm and organization I experienced. However my many visits to SA and this one included have lead me to believe through analysis that it should dare to adopt the land reform practices of Zimbabwe in terms of handing over land back to poor inprovished individuals who lack the innovation and skills to yield the optimal output with what they have been given. you might argue that eventually they will optimize output but the lapse in the time frame they will either cede this to their progeny (who are likely be able to manage the land, pending if they actually go to school and acquire the skills needed) will create an escalating overall economic meltdown of the country interms of productivity GDP output.

You simply can't hand stuff over to people who are entitlement driven and lack the capacity to innovate. A program must be set off for the gradual transfer of wealth from those who have held it illegitmately to those who require it to progress. The problem is the PROCESS to be adopted. It must have ingeniuty, substance, strict enforcement and a reliablity index before being implemented.  A clear example ofthis lay back entielement driven , at our own pace approache was witnessed by me  when I was in the cape and compared the service delivery in that province to that of Johanesburg. THere is a stark difference. The cape by the way is run by the DNC and The gauteng province of Johanesburg by the ANC.

The government know this but the power holders are delaying this measure tactically by diverting attention away from these pressing matters and focusing on government corruption, nepotism, crime and so on. I would do the same as a strategic move if i were a power holder. IT will take an intelligent man who is able to manuveur politically these strategies that are in manipulation.

Unfortunately Zuma does not strike me as such an individual and South Africa wil remain under pressure soon to implode if he right measures are not taken Once that happens outcome the naysayers who continue to advocate to the world that the ANC are incapable of running the country.

Zuma is simply riding the storm, he is not intelligent enough to take the necessary steps as a progressive leader and I think SA right now is really confused on what direction to take as far as leadership is concerned. They however are content that one of their own is leading them regardless of his/her qualifications for the job

Apart from the problem of unemployment, the crime here is just too much, is just easy as ABC to get killed here, yes there educational system and other basic amenities can never be compare to Nigeria, but Guy think nicely before you make any move here, life here is Hardcore!!!! The only good thing about SA is the fact that is easy going to any EU countries from here!!!!![/quote]I do not live in SA but have frequented the country on many occasions on assignments. In fact I just came back about two days ago from the World cup.
South Africa is a beautiful country with many great things about it. However because of my knowledge and experience, especially with many Nigerians that reside there, I like to warn potential immigrants who don't really understand the full picture of what happens within those borders.

Like I mentioned earlier if you are going to school or are investing in the country you will not come across the bad side of the country but if you are a lay Naija person who is looking for greener pastures you will encounter many a difficulty.

Naija's name has been spoilt in SA and is presently unrepairable. HT enumer of village boys who trooped that country in the early and late 90's are the sole representatives of the whole image of Nigerians. It is sad but nonetheless a reality.

Again you are better off in a western society where you are not in danger of being mobbed,

@nice-guy10,

Can you please give us some reasons?

I believe that even it's not easy as people think, Can you compare there with Naija in all ramifications?
Basic reasons not to come to south Africa if you are a struggling African

1. Crime rate is high amongst blacks
2. High unemployment. it is difficult for another African to find work
3. Resentment by the natives especially against African immigrants who they view as competition on their newly acquired homeland

If you are going to school or are coming into the country with money already then you are good but as far as hustling is concerned, stay away from SA. You are better off in a western country,
Foreign AffairsRe: This Is Not Africa's World Cup, But South Africa's by morpheus24: 9:59pm On Jun 22, 2010
Its strange. When speaking about football, the South americans are grouped up as an entity with practically all their members topping the group matches yet they are different countries with different identities.

It is only Africans that will think that an event being hosted on their "continent" should be wholly seperated as a south African event.

For some peoples edification. South Africa is part of Africa, geographically, biologically and culturally in every shape, way and form.
