Dude, seriously??!! The only reason a person should visit SA is for the World Cup. I have done my fair share of travel around the world, I have witnessed different cultures, lived in SA for a bit (4 years), and the South African blacks are the most xenophobic & uncongenial people I have ever met in my life, Botswana comes in a close 2nd. Zim, Malawi, Zambia, Angola, Namibia - surprisingly different. It's really baffling, and I've never stop wondering why the 2 countries are so different. I really wonder what's missing.

The diffference is the two countries are still suffering from a lasting effect of isolationism from other African countries until recent. The rest of the countries you mention above are relatively aware of general African Affairs which is why they don't exihibit the fear of dominance inherent in cultures that have been repressed. Its a sad truth and I have long given up on how tocomeup with solutions to breaching the gap because like my pops used to say you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. The Saffers have to come around ie if they ever will.

I was in the Batsonaa Total filling station internet Cafe almost every day . I certainly did not come across what you claim to witness . I also use the recently opened Cafe at the Coastal Junction of Spintex road sometimes and did not see "hordes of my kinsmen" at any time . I use Sharpnet at Osu too and the story is the same there also !!! In any case , how would you know they "crowd the internet cafes with Ghanaian names" ? One can always trust insecure Ghanaians to perpetuate lies that suit their agenda of blind hatred against others. I will concede that , a few years ago , a sizeable amount of Nigerians could be spotted in Cafe's accross Accra hurdled over their monitors furtively . That is not the case now and you know it !!! All the Nigerian fraudsters have virtually left mainly because (1) 419 is now largely dead and (2) the Nigerian ambassador to Ghana , assisted by upright Nigerians , has been doing a decent job undermining the criminal Nigerians who wish to tarnish Nigeria's image in Ghana. One has to praise the good effort of the Ghanaian police as well. It might interest you to know that this same Ambassador has inaugurated a registration system for Nigerians in Ghana to ensure that all legitimate Nigerians are known and identified while the few bad eggs are isolated and exposed .

I never said Ghanaians want to be Nigerians. I think it is clear I implied that Ghanaians find themselves unable to resist some Nigerian influence , e.g Music , perhaps because they find it better or more attractive than what they have always known. Not all North Africans are Arabs. You should know that the Arabs did not replace the existing population as many are made to believe. They are the elite rulling class but not the majority.

Most North African countries acknowledge their Berber, Nubian and Carthagianian ancestry. Their ancestors have been here Long enough to be considered African and they carrry ancient African DNA markers whcih can be diferentiated from Arabs outside of the the continent. They are Arabized in culture.
