Your application of the word has to do with staying in one spot and not moving anywhere else. A typical South African perspective.

You mis-apply the context of the use of the word "stupid" in this scenario. Stupid would imply that an average Nigerian is unaware of the fact that an average South AFrican is suffering from POST Apartheid Traumatic syndrome and not the fact that they are endangering their lives in either scenarios of death by the hands of Boko haram versus potential death and discomfort in the presense of Xenophobes.
