DictatorZAR1: Tell me how does this question correlate to the header of this thread. Recession....fiscal policy....fiscal...discipline......fiscal spending.......social grants......RDP housing......Gugu grants.....grants go to spending on too many children in gugu's house. DictatorZAR1: I can also respond by asking why is there currently a crisis of child slave rings in Nigeria. How can a nation that claim to be a beacon of Human Rights still allow slavery within its borders, underage marriages, baby factories and illegal organ harvesting. Off topic! DictatorZAR1: The issue of SA's recession is a question of lack of trust between government and business. Its got more to do with political indecisiveness, mistrust by business and miss management of state enterprises.
Now how does SA's economic situation lead to nation bashing by your compatriots save Nigeria from a even worse economic downturn. You need to pose that question to the people who are bashing, i am simply asking pertinent questions |

DictatorZAR1: Any report on your president AKA Dictator Buhari's holiday in the UK.
You forget your history is a tell tale of decades of horrendous mismanagement of a country by its black leaders.
I'm using it as a case study for students on how leaders of africa fucccckup their country which eventually leads to rebellions and terror. I am a southern African foreign affairs expert. If you need a response on that go to the political section, there are many that will give you a fully informed answer As far as using case studies from West African Miliatary regimes and their subsequent results, you would do your students a better service to move to places like Liberia and Sierra leone. They are far worse basket cases in those terms and far more interesting . My humble suggestion. |

Lionessza: Hahahaha @ colonized minds. Colonized minds are those who will bleach their skins at an alarming rate ( because ..well, white skin is better than a black one right?). Colonized minds are those who would risk their young lives to go through lybia(where they are frequently put straight to slavery) to reach the whiteman's land ( promised land fools). Colonized minds are those who jubilate at small compliments onyibo throws at their country so he can come exploit some more. Colonized minds ? Lol. Well those who think progress made by other Africans is because their neighbors are onyibos. Colonized minds would sell their property and give up their jobs to go and be prostitutes and pimps in the streets of onyibo land (now that's what is called adventure and and being industrious in a proud " most populated black country". Lol. Smh. Complete Gibberish again and no correlation to my initial question. don't strawman the arguement. If you want to discuss the reason whey there is a bleaching culture in Nigeria we can go there or simply search Nairaland and you will get your answers or if you wish to disucss the reasons for the sahara route journeys taken by Africans of multiple nationalities we can go there. Open the thread and invite me but don't digress. The accusation made pertains to the way you refer to other Africans as "Uitlanders" as a consequence of your colonial history. Refute that please, don't jump around subject matters. Lionessza: Actually those "makeshift " RDP homes are way better than living in Makoko generation after generation. Don't be concerned for those kids and gogos they are taken of by SANS, you should be concerned about the rate at which Nigerian kids are drowning daily at the Mediterranean Sea to be refugees in Europe. You should be concerned about black on black slavery taking place in Nigeria. Do you ever concern yourself about Nigerian teenagers as young as 12 being trafficked daily to Italy to be sex slaves. I think these Nigerian problems should concern you more than healthy kids who have 3 square meals a day, access to free Healthcare, free education, 24hr electricity supply, tap water etc . There are numerous Nigerians on this forum concerned about the above issues you are raising, Why do a lot of African take the mediternean route to europe, I could chuck that up to proximity and access to those routes as compared to southern africans like mozambicans, malawians and the likes who would choose a simpler southern route to SA in seeking better economic situations, but then again, that is not my forte and I am not here for that. Now respond appropriately to the accusations i have put forward and stop digressing, is it true the gugus are being dumped with fatherless babies and how can they cope even with grants from the government. This topic is about SA slipping into recession and everything else related to that. I am not Al4naija, even though I like him |

You will enjoy the cuisine no doubt but carry a bottle of peptobismal cause the spices are strong and not everyone can take them. I have had many a SA food and trust me you may need it. Abacha hanged you lot everyday while looting your resources and left you with 100m lazy maggots who now perish in the Mediterranean sea trying to escape the Nigeria aka land of free blacks.
Nigeria the great giant of africa 100% black criminal breeding paradise whose citizens by the thousands died this year crossing deserts and seas on there way to the whitemans heaven.
Is this the nation who tries to preach to us about freedom and democracy. Now tell me with all that land why aren't Nigerians staying in there country and developing there land. Who preaches freedom and democracy to SA on this forum. Hmmmm?? |

They would rather see those kids(some as young as 10) being "industrious " aka hawking on the streets and begging or taking that boat ride to slavery. Maybe it's their money coz it really pains them. The Vulnerable in society are the elderly and the kids not full grown fat azz men and women toyi toyi on the streets. |

I prefer foreign nationals or refer to me by my nationality if you don't mind. This 'Uitlander" reference is indicative of your colonized minds. Like I said earlier why should anyone be pained for taking care of senior citizens or homeless kids with makeshift one room RDP houses. I am concerned at the rate these poor gugu's are left with illegitimate children being dumped and running around those houses with no mothers or fathers to take care of them |

Well, I'm largely coming in on a spiritual quest.....a demain to fulfil a 10 year dream. Experience the Lagos vibe, cuisine etc. I'm excited about it, it's been long overdue.
My friend is banking on her aquaintances hooking her up etc. So no Job yet.
What has been your experience with the visa process etc. ###################
Ré Lagos.... Any recommendations Not to miss attractions. General advice
Its a 2 wk trip lol, I hope you are not coming to SCOAN to see Pastor TB Joshua o, lol I don't know about your friends acquintance, **cough**, unless its heading towards marriage then fine, if not as far as long term, I would be skeptical. As far as where to go well African babe has mentioned some good places. I will just add some others for night moves Club Spice lounge CLub Sip on Fridays D'place in Lekki phase one. Good food, stay away from the Asun unless you can handle pepper E Bar, good place to relax on friday nights but also good on sundays. Very chilled. Try their isi ewu there, very good Sailors or bay lounge also in lekki, they have live entertainment There is a market, I can't remember what roundabout in lekki it is, they sell beautiful artifacts for cheap, Ask around and they will tell you where it is. Hope you have fun and have great testimonies to take back to your people. PS. Speak up in Naija, we are very animated people but learn to draw the line between arrogance and confidence when you interact with the lay man in lagos |

Veron265: I've screenshot your input and will pass it on to her. You raise very good points. Thank you very much.
P.s. You seem to know a lot about the Visa proc etc. We're still sorting that out. Folks are claiming we need an 'agent' in order to secure one etc. The visa process is straightforward, you can go to embassy, usually they require someone inviting you before you leave and will sometimes call that person to verify. An agent is fine because the guys at the embassy know them already so they buypass some additional checks. |

Veron265: My friend and I are planning on visiting Lagos next month, fingers crossed.
She's dead Set on not returning....unlike Afrikanbabe, she hasn't been to Nigeria before. She's aware of the pros and cons......so I guess, in a population of about 50 mil pax, there are SA babes wanting and willing to relocate.
******* The thread prior to being derailed has been super healthy, thank you! My dear Veron265, she is not fully aware of the pros and cons, trust us Nigerians on that, someone who has not visited or lived in Nigeria for a while will surely have a romanticized view of the city. Lagos can be exciting if you are visiting for a shore time and have a host to show you around, however it is a fast city very much like Johannesburg and if you end up in the wrong area, not very good for you. Visit first and if you "feel" the city like Africanbabe you can make an informed decision. I usually suggest when SA's come to lagos my recommendations if they don't have a host is "four points" hotel on the island, very nice place and location to experience lagos. It is close to everything on the island and the night life around the area is great for tourists. Its also a safer area to hang out until the late hours of the night. Ps, I know they usually give SA's a 3 month visa reciprocal to SA visas so I don't know how your friend is planning to stay longer than her visa expiration date. Lagos is not Johannesburg were one can blend into Yeoville or hillbrow or sunnyside in pretoria. You will stick out like a sore thumb |

ZarZar: The fact that we're already discussing things unrelated to the subject matter, means that it's not longer relevant. Once whatever disagreement is over with, some of us actually move on with our lives. Then move on in an appropriate manner. What is the correlation with drinking stout and the topic that was initially being discussed. Appropriateness and decorum would dictate you open up a thread for SA's to come discuss "The travelling habits of SA's" but then again there aren't enough of you here and the the threads would probably stop at page 2 or 3. |
